It is located close to the North Campus so it was convenient for our stay. The room was clean with basic standard. The receptionist was friendly. There is a restaurant next to he reception and a standard breakfast was included in my price. If you want something more than a basic room this is not the place to stay.

Clean room, although plain. Decent parking. Nice and Quiet. I thought the "Big Boy breakfast included " advertised when I made the booking would be a step up from the usual breakfast buffet, but it didn't work out that way (more on that below). Staff was just ok. When I checked in (10 pm) the lobby was locked, I had to ring for attendant, who wasn't much for details. I went back inside to ask about the breakfast vouchers. He said the vouchers for breakfast at the adjoining Big Boy restaurant wou... Read more

We booked into this hotel (almost a year in advance!!) since it was the only place in Ann Arbor that was available for the weekend of UM graduation. I would have been OK with the place had we paid $75 for one night on the side of Route 80 somewhere in Nebraska or Wyoming. However, we paid over $400 for two nights. This is one of those '50's motels where every room has its own exterior door -- ours was just up from the dumpster from the adjacent Big Boy. You can't open the curtains to get any... Read more

Good hotel for the money. If you are interested in low priced hotel rather then a pool, exercise room or continental breakfast, this is the place to go. Also very close to University Hospital. Attached to Big Boy restaurant. Staff was very nice and tried to be as helpful as possible.

Its a fairly nice motel. had a nice two day stay. The only complaint I have is the beds are way two hard for me. Pillows kind of suck too. But it was quiet. I'll stay there again, just bring my own pillow.

We look forward to staying here on visits to Ann Arbor. There are never any unpleasant surprises and we know we can count on a friendly wedcome at the front desk, a clean room, extremely comfortable beds (with your choice of labeled firm or soft pillows!), restaurants and any necessary shopping within a short walk. Breakfast is still an unusual arrangement with the adjacent Big Boy restaurant so unless you opt for the discount on the breakfast buffet your choices are limited and less than fill... Read more

We stayed there the evening before my early morning appointment at the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center. We were graciously given a 15% discount because we were there for the VA visit. We upgraded to a premium room and it was well worth it. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and premium benefits were very nice and unexpected. We would definitely stay there again if the needs arises.

We chose this hotel for two reasons: pets stay free, and breakfast was advertised as being free. I'll start with the bad in this review and move onto the good. As I said, we booked the Red Roof in part because our breakfast would be included. However, upon arrival, it turned out that what you really got was a voucher for a free special menu item at the attached Big Boy restaurant for each registered guest. you could choose to order from the regular restaurant menu and get a discount instead... Have heard some stories about Red Roof Inns. I would normally have stayed at the close by Hampton Inn but not when it is over double the price. The room was decent and cleaner then some. All the rooms are supposed to be non smoking but I smelled smoke as soon as I went in the room. Small room with microwave, mini frig and coffee maker. Tv is nice flat screen with 2 HBO's. Good beds and nice linens. Extra small bathroom but excellent water pressure in the shower. There is a safe that they try to ... Read more

Comfortable and easy to find. Clean rooms that are a nice size. Not all the rooms have refrigerators so make note of that when booking only the deluxe rooms do. But if you don't need one their other rooms are comfortable and quiet for a quick layover.

Not sure what makes this a red roof inn "plus". The place was very much like any other red roof I've stayed at. With that said...the folks here are very friendly. The room was clean and seems to be updated. The breakfast was at a local big boy connected to hotel. Went there to eat breakfast, but the service was so slow we walked out, bad day for them I guess. Would stay here again, just would skip breakfast.

A business trip put me into Ann Arbor after 9 PM with appointments starting at 7:30 AM. I simply wanted a place to sleep. Let me start with the positives. The price booking on Sunday for my Sunday arrival was less than half of the hotels adjacent. That is all the ones I could see from the parking lot. The hotel was clean and has a restaurant attached, though I did not partake. The Plum Market (upscale/organic grocer) and CVS are also adjacent. The hotel grounds were well maintained and th... Spent the drive from Ann Arbor back to Chicago trying to think of something nice to say about our recent two night stay at the Red Roof Plus in Ann Arbor and kept on remembering things that were horrid. We go to Ann Arbor several times a year and granted there aren't a lot of choices hotel-wise but I think it would have been more pleasant spending the weekend sleeping in the car. This is a motel style hotel meaning there is no lobby, no interior corridors and no elevator so get ready to haul... Read more

Okay stay but marginal facilities and water main break that caused water outage were the downside. Friendly staff and very clean rooms were the plus side and location is great for restaurants and access to U of M north campus.

Absolutely subpar. I needed a last minute place to rest after a long day of travel. It's obvious the cleaning in this place is superficial at best. The floor, bathtub, air conditioner and phone all have obviously visible dirt. The bathroom light was broken. The place isn't at all quiet and the front desk person (Jabaria ?) shouldn't be working in any type of customer service capacity until she can learn the principals of basic courtesy. Complete lack of maturity and professionalism. My worst ev... Read more

It had been many years since I stayed in a Red Roof Inn because their reputation had suffered in the past years. The room was an upgraded room with amenities such as refrigerator and microwave and a welcoming snack box included. I have now had my faith in Red Roof restored! Wonderful desk clerk and a Free breakfast or a discount at the adjoining Big Boy Restaurant.

I enjoy the Red Roof Inns . The staff is excellent and problems are solved in a timely manner. Barb at the front desk was very helpful at check in. Tommy in housekeeping was very nice and got me fresh towels. great service. Quiet , but close to shopping & the hospital. have stayed a few times and will return.

We arrived at the hotel at 6:30 p.m. and still had to wait for our room to be cleaned. So not cool. The worst thing was that there were teenagers in the room above us that were still partying @ 4 am! When we checked out, my husband told the front desk that these people were screaming on the balcony and running around and we didn't sleep. Someone else was standing in the lobby and said, I'm glad you mentioned it because I wasn't sure if I should. I know that next time we are in the area... Read more

If you are looking for a great place to sleep then this is the place. The staff is very accommodating. We have been staying at this location for about ten years and have NEVER had a bad experience. Barb, Sarah, Jeff and the entire staff is great. The new customer service representatives that been hired are very helpful. It is nice they know my name when I come in or book a stay. Thank You.

Upon check in I was witness to three staff members discussing how to deal with an upset guest who was on the phone complaining about wet floors. They were basically blaming him for this and making light of this situation. Very unprofessional. When they finally got to me they continued to be unprofessional and incompetent. It took way to much time to find my reservation. When I requested rooms on the first floor I was literally laughed at. When I asked to see what my charges would be I was told I... Read more

This was a last minute trip so we ended up at this hotel. I have to say everyone we dealt with was wonderful. As 3 adults were sharing a room, we asked for extra coffee and towels. We had to go pick them up. Not a problem. Next day -game day. We ere up and dressed and went to breakfast at Big Boy. Our server was a delight. We left for the game and were gone until about 10 pm only to come back to find our room had not been cleaned. Again we asked for towels and had to go pick them up. No apology... Read more

Your normal motel. Its a plus. That gives you hard wood floors(laminated) and a fire pit for the whole hotel. We were taken advantage of because of the football game--175 a night for a $60 a night motel. People were nice.

The experience from check-in to departure was very positive. The office staff are all helpful and pleasant. Every effort was made to honor a request to have side-by-side rooms with my single daughter staying alone, rooms were clean and roomy, having the adjacent restaurant with a breakfast voucher is a nice benefit and the entire restaurant staff is pleasant and friendly. Towels in the bathrooms are new, thick and good quality.

Front desk receptionist (Vanessa) was very friendly, pleasant and knowledgable in providing advice on local restaurants, stores, shops and directions with maps to these and other attractions in the area. She really is a welcoming asset to the area and to Red Roof Inns.
