This is not a negative review just factual. We are on the road about 300 days a year and love out of a suitcase. Stay at a lot of hotels and while there's absolutely nothing wrong with this one it just has a very tired look and feel. I know some rooms have been updated but most stink like dog and have the old AC units that run constantly. Basically it needs a major renovation. The restaurant is good. Hopefully they will take this and listen. Has a lot of potential.

For the price I expected a continental breakfast and a fan in the shower. The hotel is nice enough. Room is a good size. Bathroom is small. There's a refrigerator and microwave, which is useful to pair with the market across the street. The pool area looks inviting. There is a great Korean restaurant next door.

This is a solid 3 1/2 star hotel that offers the most bang for your buck in Ann Arbor. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. All areas had been recently remodeled. The room was very clean and well appointed with large fridge, microwave, HD tv, free Wi-fi, Keurig coffee maker and comfortable bedding. The restaurant and bar have an extensive menu from breakfast to lunch to seafood and steak. Room service is available from the full menu (even beer and wine) and without the ridiculous s... Read more

We stayed at the Holiday Inn as one of a few choices remaining when we booked late for graduation weekend. Room and bed ok and typical for lower priced hotels but bathroom very small and without a vent. The real problem was being awaken at a very early hour by the squealing plumbing noises from other rooms. A very large and uninspired hotel that sits in a parking area adjacent to shopping center. There are better options in Ann Arbor when visiting your college kid.

Good location on the eastern edge of the extended University of Michigan northeast complex and overall good choice for accessibility and overall quality. It is a full service hotel, which includes an indoor/outdoor pool that has hours between 5:30 AM and 11:30 pm -- good for early morning swims. Popular family use on weekends and evenings. OK full service restaurant and bar. Hotel hosts numbers of professional meetings and seminars. Backs onto a good strip mall that includes several ethnic ... Read more

We stayed here overnight because we had a graduation party to attend. The room was clean and well decorated. The staff at front desk were quick and friendly. Went down to front desk the next morning to get one of my kids a toothbrush because he forgot his and they provided one at no cost. Most important the hotel was full but I never would have known because the walls weren't paper thin.

Many people visit this hotel, as I did, because they or a family member are being treated at the local UofM hospital. The rooms are clean, the beds are (very) comfortable and there is a restaurant on site. There is a free shuttle to and from the hospital, and the drivers are helpful and friendly. On the down side, the hot tubs are both generally out of service when I am there, the internet service is spotty, and the desk staff is friendly but not very efficient so lines are too frequent at ch... This was a mixed result for us. The staff were friendly and professional, the hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. Many things here are right. The hotel does need some infrastructure improvements to be up to the standard we expect from Holiday Inn. Our room had the smallest hotel bathroom I've ever seen. I could easily have both palms flat against the opposite walls standing one way and standing the other way with fingertips against one wall my hand was over the... Read more

We were there for a baseball tournament the rooms were very nice and clean. Loved having a Keruig in our room for coffee. The bar was fantastic with great service especially by Lori the bartender. Food was incredible and she was very knowlegable about the menu and specials. Her service was spot on. In fact the last night we were there she was off and it was obvious because even though food was good service suffered. We arrived on at Thursday and left on Sunday so we spent a lot of time in there.... Read more

The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is friendly. The location is good. There is a bar/restaurant and a hair salon attached to the hotel. Bring a swimsuit for The indoor/outdoor pool, it's really nice. The gym is also decent. The breakfast buffet costs $10 unless you book a package online that includes it. It is easily the best hotel breakfast buffet I've had. The beds are just ok. Overall I would deffinitely recommend this place.

I really liked this hotel. This is the third time here and again I was rewarded with superior service. It was quite busy with new guests when I checked in, but the desk crew was very good at their job. Nice room, plenty of places to eat close. I did not like any of the 4 pillows, but I lived through it for the 4 nights there.

This is a very nice Holiday Inn with very friendly staff. It is clean and well maintained. The bathroom set up is a little different than most of the other Holiday Inn bathrooms and it seems smaller. The pool is great because it is both indoor and outdoor with lots of chairs and tables. The fitness room is nice with a treadmill and elliptical as well as weights and other items. The onsite restaurant has a dance floor and live bands on Friday and Saturday. This property does not seem well managed. The first room we had on the second floor had an A/C unit that barely cooled the room and collected moisture as though we were in Florida. We had to arm wrestle the staff for a different room which was located on the fourth floor. The A/C unit in this room was so loud it literally kept us up and provided a nice pounding headache. The issue with the lobby coffee was there wasn't any. There was a note that said, "New Coffee Pots Coming Soon". The onl... Read more

This is a large facility and we found it adequately appointed and maintained. I was annoyed, however, when the hotel total charge when I checked in exceeded the "best price guarantee" promised by Booking.com. I guess I can trust neither Booking.com nor Holiday Inn when making a reservation. Troubling.

I stayed here before an appointment at the U of M hospital hoping to get some rest but that didn't happen !! The air conditioner was so loud and obnoxious that I had to have the tv turned up to almost all the way to even slightly hear it!!! It was so loud that it woke me up throughout the night! Not a happy camper!!! I will not be staying there again!!!! The hospital rates was &90.00 plus tax which was not a bargain at all... No wonder the Microtell hotel is always booked solid!!!

I had issue sleeping first night because of the AC which was loud (very loud noise every time AC compressor kicks in), otherwise, room was neat and clean. There is no free breakfast but you can go the restaurant inside the hotel which has a intercontinental breakfast available. The location of the hotel was good as it was very close to UM.

I've stayed in a couple of hotels in the area. The reason I've stayed here twice is the location (convenient to UMich North campus, close to the freeway) and also the pleasantness of the staff and the attention to detail. The rooms are nice - comfortable beds, plenty of room and the microwave is a nice bonus. The bathrooms are small, but conveniently arranged. Nothing worse than the price-gouging on game day weekends until you end up being price-gouged in a truly tired hotel. Holiday Inn Ann Arbor is just that.... It started with double beds instead of queens and continued with how uncomfortable they were to sleep in. The rooms were in need of an update. Showing wear and tear with scuffs and tears in the wall paper and the low ceiling in the hallways made me feel claustrophobic. The only problem is that my room doesn't have heat - at least now enough of it. I tried to call downstairs to tell them but the front desk line didn't work on the phone. Older midlevel hotel. Inside pool with water too cold for my kids who badly wanted to stay at a place with a pool over Thanksgiving. Adequately large rooms. Very poor number of handicapped rooms with showers. Most of the handicapped rooms have tubs instead of showers; better handicapped rooms at the typical Motel6 at half the price.
