Room was clean but small. We thought we were getting a king size bed and a fridge but only received a double bed and no fridge. Hot breakfast. Eggs not good one day but were better the next. Pool was closed due to chemical issues. Did not get io use it during this visit.

Gentleman that checked me in was very rude and for me to have an arrival after 9pm I was just not in the mood for his attitude, not saying that I ever am. Gentleman was too busy to check me in, even after saying excuse me I still had to wait for him to pull his self away from his computer to come check me in. He did not acknowledge that I was a HH gold member nor did I receive a complimentary gift upon arrival like I usually would do. When I asked for it he seemed down right annoyed that I had ... Easy check-in, liked the digital check-in capability. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Housekeeping staff very accommodating. Breakfast could use a few more selections. Hotel was full so crowded at breakfast. Find this location convenient to I94, Briarwood Mall, airport, restaurants, other shopping on Washtenaw Avenue.

This hotel had the nicest and most professional staff I've ever encountered. And this included ever person from the lobby staff to the breakfast staff to housecleaning to the pool guy. Nice clean and updated rooms. Very poor tv service and channel selection. Convenient location to U of M. and highway 94.

I stayed at this Hampton Inn for a full week in May 2016. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. This is a pretty typical Hampton Inn. A refreigerator and microwave were offered to me at checkin which was great. Basic internet is free, but they do charge for premium internet. My only negative comment would be the fitness center which was poor. Other than that it was a very nice hotel and a good value for the price. I would return here next time I have business in Ann Arbor.

I was looking for a suite room in Ann Arbor for our family. The cost of hotels in this area is well over-priced. I chose the Hampton Inn due to previous good experiences and the free breakfast. When we checked into our King suite with sofabed, we were shocked to see how small the room was. The sofabed is the size of a twin, so one of our sons had to sleep with my husband and I in the King bed. How awkward and uncomfortable. The room had not refrigerator or microwave. However, we were able... Read more

I stayed here for a 6 days business trip, and stayed on the first floor. I did not use the pool/ hot tub so I will not comment about those. However, I must say that I was extremely dissatisfied with the maid service. My in-room coffee, and in room soap/ face clear was only refilled ONCE in my 6 day stay. Staying at the hotel is like going to a game show. Are you going to have wash cloths today. Answer is no. Are you going to have coffee in your room. Answer is maybe but all decaf. Get my drift. The biggest problem was when the power went out for hours and the maintenance people were outside our door and laughed. The breakfast was above average and breakfast staff were friendly. A typical waste culture hotel. Paper dishes, plastic clutery, no recycling... This hotel is too expensive for the quality offered. I reserved a room this weekend as I was in Ann Arbor for the Michigan-Hawaii football game. I like to stay in this area across from Briarwood Mall, but they usually increase the rates very high. Good location, wonderful staff --- ridiculous room rate -- solely dictated by it being a football weekend. Otherwise, the rate drop by more than half. I can understand why the rate would increase on high demand weekends, but $300+ for below average sized King room with a small bathroom? Trust me, this will NOT happen again -- as I will stay several mile outside the area to get a reasonable room rate and just drive a few extra miles.

We have stayed at the Hampton Inn Ann Arbor South many times over the past 10 years. A renovation several years ago made this a great place to stay on football weekends.
