We stayed here from 5/2/2016-5/4/2016. The hotel is in a great location and it's within walking distance of Grill 350 and Theodore's. I generally stay at SPG properties, and my experiences have been impeccable. Due to the upcoming Marriott / SPG merger I decided to try out a Marriot property. I booked two rooms. The hotel is an imposing structure that sits conveniently close to the UMass campus. The hotel is a franchise and has limited benefits for Marriott Rewards members. For example, I asked for water (as a Platinum member) and was told it was not included. The room was clean but the price was over $200. for two queen beds. and the room was sparse. Satellite tv with basic features, not a big screen etc.. Fo the money I would explore other options and not jus go with the Marriott name.

This is disgusting! Not happy with this! This is our first time staying here and we won't be back based on these pictures. We are Ok with the front desk and room service, but having a clean room means more to me. It's a decent location but it might be a better idea to stay someplace else based on the reviews.

It's hard to give this an average score as it's far below average for a full service Marriott. The hotel is tired and needs to be updated. The rooms looks like a step back to 1990 and smells like my grandmothers house. Unfortunately, I would have preferred to stay in a Courtyard or Fairfield over this property.

I belong to a Sweet Adeline's chorus and we stayed here for our competition. It's very easy to get to. There is a parking garage with an entrance to the hotel. Our competition was at the symphony hall which was one block away. The accommodations were very nice, including a refrigerator in the room. Stayed here for a conference and it is a very dated property-esp. the restroom facilities both in my room and in conference areas. Also very loud-open hallways and had to call reception twice on Saturday night after 11PM due to noise. Wouldn't recommend.

The front desk was polite, the room was clean and a good size (nice view of the river and Memorial Bridge). Parking cost $17/night but the garage was convenient and safe - just be sure you don't have a roof carrier or truck, max height is 6'4". Restaurant was nice if a bit pricey. I would stay here again if I was in town.

NICE hotel with great downtown locale....but parking $$ is steep for area (and will only increase when casino opens)....and breakfast options falls under the same description...clean rooms and solid staff!

We were in Springfield for an event and stayed at the Marriott. The from desk staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, but the place is musty and badly needs some updating. The carpet, drapes, wall coverings are depressing. But, it was only for one night.

The plumbing is old. The bathroom fan did not work and the toilet ran and ran. All food and beverage are extra as people have mentioned and I mean, not even a bottle of water in the room as with other Marriotts. The hotel looks rundown except the lobby still looks good. The bathroom is smaller than those i ever stayed in Fairfield Inn Marriott. The shower head is squeaky or noisy; staff did not inform about breakfast as i am eligible to go for lounge being Gold member. This was a good choice for hotel in the Springfield area. It was well situated near Baystate Health as well as close to multiple dining options. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Rooms could probably be updated from a decor perspective but nothing very notable. The onsite options for dining and drinks were convenient. Well after a LONG day of driving we arrived in Springfield only to discover that the hotel we had booked, not through trip advisor, was scary looking. I got on the phone with Marriott and was taken care of immediately. Great reservation people! Nice hotel near the Basketball Hall of Fame. Bus station is about 10 minute walk. Hotel front desk associates were very accomodating. The night we arrived it was pouring and they let us eat our delivery food in the closed hotel restaurant. Rooms a bit older but clean. Air conditioning worked well. Great parking garage was monitored and very clean. Neighborhood not the greatest. Wouldn't recommend walking on your own to any points outside the hotel.

Not much more to say. The place needs updated top to bottom: lobby, gym, conference rooms, guest rooms, Concierge Lounge, etc. Biz traveler issue: the wi-fi in my room was so slow I had trouble using my VPN. Unacceptable. I haven't stayed at the Sheraton across the street so I can't say if that is a better option. Hartford is only 30 min away but the Marriott downtown is routinely $350-$400 per night for some reason.

Front desk staff were incredibly helpful and Anna in the dining room was a superb server. Only complaints: a) I wasn't eligible for 500 Marriott Reward bonus points for declining housekeeping during 2 night stay because I booked through Expedia. So, that was a bummer. b) parking garage is a bit of a trick to navigate -- even with a compact car, the turns were pretty tight!

What an awesome place. The rooms are excellent and so clean. The service is wonderful. Customer service is just great. Luv the food. Will be going back. Needed some r&r for the weekend and this was just what I needed.

Beautiful place. Great view of the city from all rooms. A bit pricey but so worth it. The rooms remind me of home. The staff are amazing! I recommend staying at a Marriott any chance you get. Make sure you try the food at the bar

Stayed in early August 2016 for one night. Room was tired, desperately needs updating. Sheets on the bed did not seem like the quality one would expect at Marriott. As a Marriott Rewards Gold member I expected a better room and hotel experience. They also do not have the concierge lounge open on weekends, instead offering 750 points or (2) continental breakfasts in their restaurant. I would typically value lounge access at $35-$40 a day, so giving $5 value in points is paltry.

Located in Tower Square with full access to its lobby, restaurants and shops. Excellent gym , there is a nice pool and hot tub with views but the hot tub needs mold cleaning. Updating rooms and hallways would unveil its full potential. Plentiful parking with ramps & luggage carts into garage access elevators. All centrally located downtown, highways & entertainment venues.

I've stayed at this property a number of times over the past five years and it is getting more dreary every time I visit. I feel it is no longer a good value for the money given the furniture and carpeting are worn out and run down. It needs paint. The garage parking at $17/night adds to the already over-priced rates. I have stayed at this particular Marriott several times now. And every stay has been good. My most recent stay was just as good as the other ones in the past... maybe even better. The rooms are very clean, the staff very friendly. They have a great breakfast buffet offered every morning... one bummer is you have to pay for it... would love for it to be included... but beggers can't be choosers. Will stay here again in the future on my next visit to Springfield, MA

There are so many great things about this hotel and the staff there. I don't know where to start. Check in was fast. They helped me with every single requests. The room was very clean, comfortable bed, and with wonderful view of the city.

This Marriott has a nice club level lounge and the restaurant staff were helpful and very pleasant. The rooms however look like they have not been updated in this century. The bedding is old and pilled, the carpet in the room in unstretched, wavy and dirty. Definitely a place you don't want to remove your socks. We stayed here this past weekend . Very easy in and out very easy parking on level ( C ) and access right to the hotel elevators ! The rooms are clean and well kept .Great pool area and there are two restaurant's in the Hotel for easy dinning or venture out to a local restaurant ( I recommend the Student Prince ) Great German food and its only a 4min. walk down Main St. Hope this helps Chef Paul

It's not the nicest but it's not the worst either. To be honest, it could be improved substantially by a good elbow scrubbing and better communication. The pool filters looked gross (a dab of paint) and the pool area in general hadn't been kept up with. I love the architecture of the space, it just needs a little TLC. Hotel is just "OK" - parking is easily accessible, but getting into the garage is height limited so if you've an SUV - pass on this hotel. Our room was OK, but it felt like an upgraded Holiday Inn room - definitely not a typical Marriott room. The bathroom was EXTREMELY small. Housekeeping left a rubber glove under the hand towel when they serviced the room. Gross.

so it's a nice city hotel, with the usual expensive city parking. It does show some wear but overall it is nice. Only one coffee packet in the room seemed kind of odd, but they serve starbucks in the lobby. the bars are nice, and the lobby is nice.

I stayed at the Marriott for a business event that the hotel was hosting. Both the event and my stay were excellent. The banquet staff were fabulous. Jay was great. He made sure the food each day was set and that all of our AV needs were met the beginning of each day. Our event went off with very few issues. I stayed at the hotel for a wedding I was attending- the banquet hall was very nice with both indoor and outdoor facilities. It was a big wedding and the venue was able to accommodate everyone. Great hotel! This is my second year staying here for a conference. Wonderful clean rooms, great service and a good restaurant. The location is right off of I-91 so it is very handy but a little noisy if you are on the side with the highway. BUT the hotel staff thought ahead and provided a white-noise machine in the room. I didn't mind the traffic at all and it provided a him that allowed me to sleep really well. I hope to be able to come again.

This hotel is located in the center of downtown Springfield . The staff was very nice and efficient. The cost is a little high with the fact that you also have to pay for parking. What started off as a 130 dollar stay with the taxes and parking ended up to be closer to 200.

Stayed at this hotel for a wedding! The room was clean the hotel is classy and convenient! Staff very helpful showed us where the church was for the wedding! Easy check in easy parking! Would definitely stay here again if I had an event in that area! Room was perfect hotel was quiet and we got answers to all the questions that we had! Staff was helpful and went out of their way to make sure we knew what was going on

Stayed here overnight in a business trip- it is conveniently located off the highway and staff was extremely friendly. I used none of the amenities except wifi which is free in the rooms. My one big complaint is that there are no coffee pots in the room. I am up very early and there was no place to get coffee until 7. Other than that- room was clean and comfy.

Other than the garbage and murder scene under my bed, the staff was friendly and the pool & fitness center were great. Chose to spend as much time as possible out of my room to avoid being creeped out. Close to freeway & restaurants. Advice is to check your room before getting too comfy. -_- Gave a poor rating only because I know Marriott has higher standards then to let their guests sleep on a mattress like this. YUCK!

Springfield isn't really a place that you'll ever want to be unless you really have to be there, I had to be there so at least the Marriott was super convenient for where I was visiting in the Tower Square offices. Nothing was particularly wrong with the place but the decor did look like it needed a good spruce up. I ate breakfast in Currents - average quality food / very friendly service staff ... that last bit is a big plus.

Upon checking in we were given our room keys right away. Parking the car is a little treacherous with the garage's spiral turns, but parking was ample. Stayed one night in Room 1006 which was very quiet and well appointed. Lobby is pretty and staff was very helpful in microwaving a dish I brought for dinner. The restaurant was very pricey for wine and coffee, and the few staff looked like they were running around to manage the crowd. Fitness club was decent with variety of equipment and room to handle the morning work-out guests.
