I love the location. You can walk to the fishing boats and every restaurant in downtown Plymouth. Hot tub. Pool. Pub. Restaurant on site. What else do you need? Great rates too. Most fishing charters stay here, as customers want convenient places that are nice. I've been sending my clients here for years and never a complaint (it used to be the Plymouth Radisson).

Played is a women's soccer tournament in Plymouth at the Jungleplex sports arena March 19 and 20. The hotels closest to the tournament that were recommended by the tournament staff were booked by the time we called to reserve. My sister recommended this hotel as she stays for work. We were so glad we gave it a shot even though it was a little further from the Jungleplex ( only a 10 min ride). So glad we did. It was a much better spot than the hotels we stayed in in previous years. It was di... Read more

Some words to describe our family's experience are inhospitable, unkempt, unclean, uncaring, and uncooperative. Thank you for the fresh wet paint headaches, no trash bins, or tissues in the room. Special thanks to the overnight clerk who was completely uncaring and unsympathetic despite the fact that we were there for a wedding which was booked 9 months in advance.

Booked a night here through, which conveniently did not tell me that the hotel was under construction. After a long day walking around the Pinehills looking at properties, we were ready to get our room and get ready for dinner. When we entered the place reminded me of "The Shining" - it smelled, there were signs taped to the door "use other door", and the place looked deserted. When we went up to the check-in, a man was already complaining that his wife said "their room reeked of s... Read more

Great location, across street & 1 block back from Plymouth harbor. Helpful and friendly front desk. We were warned about renovation activity. Very ambitious undertaking of older, large hotel property, formerly a chain hotel, now going indie. Given (mostly completed) renovated, standard rooms, overlooking pool area, missing some final decorating touches, but fully functional and comfortable. Pool a big hit with the youngsters. So, I was worried when I saw some of the other reviews as this hotel was chosen for us through an IVLP training program. However, after staying here I can say that it was a really fabulous little place, with exceptionally friendly staff and great service. The hotel was being renovated whilst we were there, but we were not affected by these renovations and the rooms itself were very clean, and well outfitted. First off, this stay was in season so every hotel I looked at was pricey. The location was excellent right on water street across from all the popular waterfront restaurants, that is if you made dinner reservations far enough in advance which we did not, but that is another story. The hotel is under renovation, and we were fortunate to have had a renovated room which was clean, updated and comfortable. Nothing fancy probably more inline with a holiday inn express. Stayed there in early June. Many rooms still going under renovation which was much needed as we stayed there in June 2015. Nice walk in shower. But towels were stacked up on bathroom counter which did not give much room for toiletries. No lunch served in pub. It is good location so we walked down to restaurants in the area.

We paid for a harbor view. However a boat sounds a horn night and day. I put the A/C on to drown out the noise, but it shuts off at some unknown temperature. We didn't have toilet tissue but nobody answered. So, my husband had to go to the front desk. The bathroom lights only halfway lit up and the shower drained so slow I had to clean it out before my husband could shower. When checking out the woman asked me , what do you want us to do about the boat horn. I told her maybe tell the guest befo... Read more

The hotel isn't waterfront but is right across the street from the ocean and a short walk from the Plymouth attractions. Hard to give a comprehensive review of this hotel as we only stayed one night and it was undergoing a major renovation. What I can say is that the reception staff were fantastic. This hotel has, in the past, been the showpiece of Plymouth. It is my hope this will happen again. Perhaps, it really would have been a good idea to have closed the hotel during this period of renovation. There are some issues which have existed for a very long period of time such as the miserable dirty carpet in the hallways which has gone through an array of hotel owners. The small guest rooms seem to be fairly well renovated so I would think the carpet could have been taken up and replaced. ... Read more

Where to begin? Let's start with the unadvertised construction and ongoing renovation: nothing like making your way through a construction zone while headed to your room, and the sound of wallpaper being scraped, I suppose, is an adequate substitute for a morning alarm. Then there's the room size: Our reservation clearly said 2 adults, 3 children for which two double beds is NOT adequate. The hotel's response? I rarely write reviews either good or bad however since the hotel handed me a tripadvisor card rather than ask me how my stay was - they deserve to have the public know how far they need to go to provide a satisfying experience. My wife and I were touring around New England enjoying the fall. The 1620 was a last minute booking, but we were delighted with our choice. Spacious, clean and comfortable. The receptionist was very welcoming. Ample car parking, good internet and an ideal location for restaurants, the harbor and the Mayflower. The Hotel 1620 certainly ticks all the boxes and was very reasonably priced.

Spent 2 evenings here. The room was nice. There was some work going on but it didn't trouble us. The bar served food but the barmaid was poor. Firstly said they didn't have the wine I asked for and then muddled our dinner order. They did have the wine, she clearly wasn't trying very hard that evening! We did not leave a tip because the service was poor, however when we checked out a tip had been added to our bill. We queried this and they couldn't find the docket we had signed but instead... Stayed one night and was quite pleased with everything about this hotel. Rooms were clean, beds and pillows were very comfortable, staff was pleasant and helpful and parking was very convenient. We were in walking distance to a variety of restaurants and attractions. Will definitely stay here again!

Enjoyed one night stay at the 1620. Staff was very friendly. Food was very good. Great location to walk to restaurants and bars on the waterfront as well as the downtown area. We had lunch at Speedwells restaurant which I highly recommend located in the downtown area. Hotel room was very clean. Indoor pool looked very nice.

1620 Plymouth, Nice rooms, great staff!! We love the location. Short walk to ocean, shopping, and the best seafood you can get. We recommend East Bay Grill for a more upscale atmosphere, while still getting amazing food at reasonable prices for lunch. Same goes for Isaac's and the view if the ocean view at Isaac's is an extra perk. Cabby Shack chowder is The BEST, a must have every day. Woods Seafood is a must, a little more rustic atmosphere with great seafood and prices. We love Plymouth!

I was excited to stay at this location only to be let down. It was quite old and dated. I did see signs in the lobby that talked about renovations to come. It was a bit pricy for what you were getting. The staff was very nice and the location was great but the rooms and the lobby left a lot to be desired. I would definitely go back after the renovations.

Ok. I can survive well in a Best Western even if I like nice places. However, this hotel lacks good cleaning, maintenance and even though the room has been done over - the ceiling is flaming and falling on the floor, toilet was making odd noise and I found about 20 empty nip bottles, TV has not channel guide and the one they provide is not right. Just one of those places you stay because you have to. Not a place I would chose for a vacation. I'm stuck here for a conference and the team shou... Read more

We as a family would travel for leisure a couple times a year, upon our last trip we ran into a mishap where the suite we had the dining table we had was broken and injured my son. We reported it to the front desk whom were a great group of employee's to deal with. We recv. conformation that the next visit to contact them and they would accommodate us to call ahead, well we did just that. Bad move I guess they changed hands and the rep. handling our situation informed me that well we just sh... Read more
