I chose the Hampton Inn in Peabody for our five day visit to Boston largely due to the price, when compared to rooms in Boston, itself. This hotel served all of our needs. It was clean, quiet and an easy 20 minute drive to anywhere in Boston, even on Marathon weekend. There are even a few decent restaurants within walking distance.

We stayed here 5 days on business. The room is a typical Hampton Inn room. Very clean. Bathroom good sized, microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. The staff was very kind and courteous. There were always people cleaning the lobby and hallways. The breakfast was a good complimentary one. No it's not gourmet (you're not staying in that type of hotel) but everyday there were new choices. There was a waffle machine, hot oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, cereals, yogurts and pastries that were served dail... Read more

The employees here are friendly, great breakfast!!! The only thing I dislike is that I was there for a whole week, and it seems like they don't dust the furniture or sweep behind the doors. They just fix your bed, replace anything you use and that's it. I believe if they fix that, it will make them GREAT!!! Will I go back? Yes.

My wife and I traveled through Salem/Peabody on our way to Maine and stayed at this hotel. The staff was exceedingly helpful, and assisted in helping us look for a missing piece of jewelry, and took care of a small issue with our original room. The bed was as usual - outstanding at a Hampton, and the shower, bathroom, and cleanliness was typical of the high standards at this chain. This particular location however is perched on top of highway 1 - so ask for a room on the back side of the hotel o... Read more

Typical Hampton Inn stay...nothing over the top. The rooms were clean for the most part and the beds were comfortable. I did notice housekeeping does NOT vacuum the rooms or the hallways every day...there were bread/cracker crumbs on my carpet in the room and in the hallway near elevator. The crumbs were there when I entered the room and hallway, and were there when I left two days later. Not a real big deal but none the less I expected more. After traveling all night from California to Boston we needed a bed fast. The staff worked diligently to coordinate the cleaning folks to tidy up the first room that was vacated so we could dive into bed and get some sleep! They were terrific and so attentive to us. This hotel chain is always great and consistent. The staff was extremely welcoming and nice, and seemingly went out of there way to ensure a great stay. As a HHonors member, they treated me as if I were royalty, others in my party commented on the way in which I was greeted and handled. Many of them are now becoming HHonors card carrying members.

This is a great place to stay on the outskirts of Boston- close to the mbta for transportation into the city at reasonable prices. The room was great, the fitness center had one each of an elliptical, treadmill, and bike with a few other small items thrown in. The free continental breakfast is typical for a Hampton Inn- don't expect fine dining. If you can find a few items like fresh fruit and small pastries to tide you over until the next meal consider that a win.

Rt. 1 location is a very busy location on Northbound side. Take care when approaching. Dearborn Rd. is immediately adjacent to property. When pulling a trailer, or large vehicle, parking is at the rear of hotel at a lower level which is very inconvenient for a handicap person to get to main level especially with luggage or pushing a dolly. The two choices are either walking uphill on the driveway and around to the front, or up some concrete stairs at the rear of the hotel which is impractical w... Read more

This means: -The traveler will still leave a day early. -They will not refund for the one day early departure. -They will re-book the room. -They will make double their money on the room. First we were given the wrong room. Second, the bed was old and uncomfortable. Third, the pillows were too soft and lumpy and too small (king sized bed with twin sized pillows). Couldn't use the Internet. Better service on LTE. Breakfast was bad. Omlets looked like microwave food, line to make your own waffles was too long so had a bagel that was rubbery so we didn't eat. Room size was really nice as was the bathroom. The complimentary breakfast makes the overall value you pay extremely worth it. Short drive to Salem which was convenient and why we chose this hotel after trying to reserve the Hilton next door but that was booked. I used my points and the gentlemen at the front desk were very accommodating when I checked in- there was a front desk clerk names Alexis who was less accommodating which she later acknowledged and rectified via email to me.

HOWEVER, the staff couldn't be lovelier! What a great group of people who genuinely make you feel welcome and cared for. Great with suggestions and knowledgeable about the area and offerings. Simple straight forward and not pretentious! It's a basic level Hilton; but the treat you like you're at the Waldorf!

Even if it's a very busy month to stay I was able to have my room. They have the best breakfast and the staff is amazing. Very happy I would come back there any other time. Bathroom was very clean....

This hotel is not typical of what we have come to expect at a Hampton Inn. The first room we were assigned smelled like cigarette smoke. We returned to the front desk and were given an apology and another room. It was a bit better, but still had some sort of odor. The breakfast buffet did have better than average fruit available and the staff was very friendly. Overall, this is an older hotel and in our experience wasn't being particularly well maintained. If you looked closely, the hallwa... Read more

Everything was great at the Hampton Inn in Salem MA. The lobby was really surprisingly beautiful. The front desk was friendly and efficient. The rooms were very clean and I was impressed how well the bathroom was organized for easily reach from the tub and toilet. The breakfast was fine not outstanding but that's not an issue for me. I did like that they had a coffee/tea bar available 24 hours. Just a great place to stay.

SO clean, great location. Close to Boston, Salem, and Cambridge for an awesome value. Would definitely stay again. Helpful staff! I left a very expensive jacket in the room, and they made sure to track it down and call me to let me know they had it and can come pick it up when I was heading back to the airport that day!

Hampton Inn was a last-minute booking, and I was very pleased with the facility overall. Was able to book last minute, arrive later in the evening, and had no issues whatsoever. Staff that greeted me were in good spirits, and the facility was clean, well lit, and inviting. Highly recommended!

Stayed on leisure trip. Nice hotel with friendly staff. Clean rooms, quick check in/out. Large variety of breakfast menu items. Easy to get to if going to Boston or Salem areas & don't want to stay in middle of action or pay too much.

Met by wonderful people at the desk. Excellent continental breakfast choices and pleasant morning staff. Continential breakfast was not the same every day! Coffee was available in the lobby the whole time. We had a clean room and the lobby was clean and fresh looking

Very nice staff, and clean rooms. Better than average breakfast, tended by an exceptionally helpful woman. The lack of any problems leaves me having trouble writing much of a review here. The hotel is located on busy U.S. 1, but you quickly learn how to get around. For the area - not far from Boston, and from Salem (especially this time of year, near Hallowe'en) - it's a pretty good value.

We selected this hotel because of its proximity to Salem, MA. I think my biggest problem with the hotel is that it is off of US1, which is very busy highway. You have to be careful not to miss your exit since you then have to drive up to the next overpass, and carefully do a U-turn at the light. The hotel was fairly close to Salem, which we found without much problem. Ghosts and witches greeted us in this fun, old town!

Stayed here for a short trip to Salem. It's about a 15 minute drive to Salem. The hotel is nice, your standard Hampton Inn. Comfortable beds, clean room, friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again. The only complaint I have is you can not enter the hotel through the side entrance, you can only enter through the front of the hotel, kind of annoying when it's cold and rainy and you can only park on the side of the building right in front of the side entrance.

It's in line with what we expect from Hampton. Friendly staff, tidy room, comfy bed. We were in 214 and it was quiet. No complaints! It's not the Ritz but I'd give it 3.5 if that was an option. Note, as of our stay the pool is closed for repairs, but they offered guests to use the Homewood's pool (sister property next door). Completely satisfied.

One night stay due to lack of availability at the hotel where my conference was. I was assisted by the host hotel with this reservation. I did not need any services from hotel staff while there and did not use any of the facilities while there.

I stayed at this hotel while on business for the past three years. It ranks as a five star hotel with efficient pleasant staff, clean comfortable rooms and a free full breakfast. The location is easy to get to from Route 95 and Boston area. I also find the room prices are very competitive, along with the ease of walking to nearby restaurants.

Stayed at this property while on business trip and was very pleased. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly and room was clean and comfortable. Wish there were more restaurants close by other than Wendys but would stay there again on my next trip to the area.

We had to travel up from Va for an unexpected passing of a cousin last week. We lived on the North Shore for 60 years and still travel north to visit with family and friends. We stayed at this Hampton Inn 5 years ago for a friend's wedding and knew that we would have excellent accommodations and a full continental breakfast. Recommend highly!!

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times as it is close to the office. Every time we have had issues with the plumbing. The toilets are either too slow to flush or the handles don't strike right so you have to attempt multiple times to get the fluid down. We have stayed on all different floors in different types of rooms. We have also stayed at other Hampton Inns with the same fixtures that do not have these problems.
