The only reason we stayed here was because the next day we needed to be in a place that was only 10 minutes away. This place is just OK really not worth the money plus you have to pay for parking which is nuts. No noise from the highway either but I would not recommend

Price was good, location was perfect and it was an 8 uber to downtown, close to Fenway park! Easy on and off the highway. Downside-traffic was loud with the hotel over the highway, didn't provide breakfast.

During the graduation season, getting a hotel rooms at reasonable price is difficult in Boston near the universities area. Our group of 7 people was not able to book rooms near MIT in May unless we pay a rate that is double to the normal rate, so we stayed at Crown Plaza Boston Newton. Although it is only 12 km away from MIT, the peak hours traffic in the morning slowed us in travelling, it took 40 to 45 minutes each morning to get to MIT. The worse thing was the location of the hotel in relate ... Read more

The staff is friendly and the rooms are average but it provides easy access to the 90 turnpike. The flip side is the rooms are literally on top of the freeway, so quite a bit of road noise. It is within walking distance of several restaurants. The self parking is $28 per night. The executive lounge was well serviced by Carolyn and Walcky. Simple offerings in the lounge but it was nice to have access to coffee and yogurt in the morning.

We always stay at this Crowne plaza in Newton whenever we need to go to Boston as it is such a great value and east to get to Boston College where my son attends. The restaurant is good and the staff is always super friendly and helpful.

Front desk staff, in particular, is welcoming, helpful and friendly. Wonderful way to begin a stay. Rooms are nice size and well appointed. Social is a great place for dining or having a drink. Very convenient location.

The room was nice but the floors were unlevel and the drawers to the dresser were constantly open, which I noticed when I banged into them when going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. (banged up my shin) There were doors banging and loud talking at 8:00 a.m. on Sat. morning. It was so noisy that I was going to say something to the neighboring room, but it turned it it was the cleaning staff.

Just stayed for two nights for our college reunion and had a lovely time. Rooms were spacious and clean. Plenty of towels. Good water pressure in the shower. Beds were comfortable. It can be a bit noisy as can be expected for its location over Mass Pike. We love that parking is included and understand that value in Boston. We will definitely stay again for future reunions.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great room, beautiful views, friendly and helpful staff. We needed a crib and a refrigerator and the staff was there promptly for delivery. I highly recommend it! The restaurant was a bit pricey but the food was good regardless.

I asked for a quite room not sure this is possible in this hotel as it spans a road (room view attached) and I got the room that is "L" shaped behind the lift. Buffet breakfast thought was over priced and you serve yourself for most of it, room was a good size and clean could do with better power sockets especially for travellers who need to plug in an adaptor.

This was a very nice hotel. They are currently renovating in a few places, but weren't inconvenienced with that in any way. Our room was on the 6th floor overlooking the freeway that goes "through" the hotel. With the fan on in our room there was no road noise at all. The TV is huge, no refrigerator though. In all the room was nice. Hotel is beside the bus stops for public transportation, and the staff were extremely friendly. The breakfast buffet was a little expensive for what it offered but w... The room was clean, the service was very pleasant and helpful. It was noisy over the highway which was to be expected. I was disappointed in the lobster roll in the bar restaurant area. It was dry and did not have enough butter on it. I should have asked for more.

We stayed here owing only to it being our team hotel for a local lacrosse tournament held at Babson College. The room we had was fine, for the price, but the amount of car and truck noise is considerable. If you run the air conditioner all night it drowns out the noise but, otherwise, you had better be either a sound sleeper or have ear plugs. There is a restaurant inside the hotel called Social, which was actually fairly good. There is very little to do or see within walking distance.

First off, for a weeknight it was a great deal, and everyone knows Boston is not cheap. However.....from a service point of view, the two guys working the front desk check-in around 7pm were nice, but completely overloaded. One on the phone, which left one to check in about 7 people in line. With a third person (even just to answer the phone!), it may have been an easier night for them. Once off the elevator, it was like a trip back abou 10-12 years as the hallway needs a renovation. Drab l... Read more

There is only one glaring con about the Crowne Plaza -- its location above the Mass Turnpike makes the lion's share of the hotel guest rooms susceptible to noise. Indeed you'll hear the noise, particularly if you are on the lower levels but it's NOT unbearable. If you're a light sleeper, request a room on a higher floor. I stayed on the 11th floor and still heard car noise BUT there are ways around it ( ie. If you run the AC or fan all night, you won't hear the cars -- you'll just hear the AC u... Read more

Although the rooms are quite satisfactory, this hotel really lacks the services that Travelers rely on. The lobby is cold and uncomfortable the layout is very odd. It's almost as if the front desk is trying to avoid interacting. The limited breakfast that is available, is mediocre at best. It's staff appears more interested in watching soccer on the TV. This property was close to where I needed to be the next day for meetings. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were very clean, but somewhat outdated - this seems to be fairly common with Crowne Plaza hotels. The hotel straddles an interstate which was fairly noisy for my taste. Staff is friendly. Hotel straddles interstate highway so it is a major pain to enter. It straddles the interstate so road noise is terrible. I guess it was good that the air conditioner fan was so loud it almost drowned out the traffic. You do not want to drive from there in rush hour. So bus and train are best.
