The hotel was very clean and quiet. A Keurig in the room along with a fridge and microwave was nice. The bathroom had an actual ventilation fan. For some reason these are rare in any hotel. ALSO - We were traveling on the Passover holiday, and the breakfast options actually included Matzoh and Passover breakfast cereals. Although this would not seem important to most, we thought it was a very nice gesture for the hotel to make who needed that alterative option. This earned them a 4th star.

We booked and large room with two queen beds for the four of us. Only one bathroom but it was okay. The room also had a separate seating room with a TV and a mini kitchen with cabinets and a table and chairs to eat at. The room was clean and well appointed. It looked to be well maintained and everything worked. The complimentary breakfast was quite extensive and the two ladies working there kept it clean and in great shape. There was a one minute pancake machine that delivered a freshly cooked p... Read more

I recently stayed 3 nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Hadley Massachusetts for a visit to the University of Massachusetts. My room was clean, comfortable and well laid out. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the complimentary breakfast only added to the value. I usually stay at Hampton Inns, but this Holiday Inn Express was every bit as good, if not better. I highly recommend it if you need to spend any time in the UMass area.

I was the guest of a family member for a graduation. I found the hotel to be very clean, comfortable, and the staff to be most accommodating. The included breakfast provided a wide range foods to satisfy any appetite.

The room was nice but the front desk staff tried to tell us they gave us a quiet room away from the noisy elevator - a long walk down the hallway - but it was facing the traffic on the main road - she must of thought we'd come in on the turnip truck. Admittedly they were full for graduation weekend but we made our reservations in January and they could not upgrade us to a king bedded room (I'm a Platinum Ambassador with Spire status). Because they happened to be full, they couldn't care less a... Read more

Stayed here while son was at UMass orientation. Very good value for money; had AAA discount, but even rack rate wasn't bad. Breakfast was typical and well-stocked. Room was very clean. Bath and Body Works toiletries were a nice touch.

Desk people were accommodating, pleasant and couldn't do enough when we had a last minute change of plans. Gave us nice restaurant and places to visit. Room was spacious and bright. So glad we stayed there and will stay there again. Nice breakfast, good linens, plush towels

Clean, comfortable (though the mattresses are a little soft, in my opinion), convenient. If you do not know your way around the area, the entrance to this hotel is tricky to find. Heading east on Route 9, you'll want to turn at the lights as if you're going to the Home Depot; turn right onto the service road and follow it to the Holiday Inn. If you are coming west on Route 9, there's a tiny little sign that simply says, "Enter."

Hotel is centrally located near Amherst College as well as the Eric Carle Museum. Finding the hotel is easy, however, locating the entrance was tricky - enter behind the McDonalds/Wendy's via the Corporate Park. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was standard Holiday Inn fare. Good value for price.

This HIE exceeds expectations in almost all ways. The lobby is lovely, the desk staff attentive, the room well appointed and clean, the breakfast varied and well made. The only criticisms I can muster is that the hallways are a bit narrow, the fitness room was overcooled and location is hard to access along Route 9. Small and trivial things compared to essentials which were done quite well.

We stayed at the hotel while visiting colleges in the area. The location is very convenient to the schools and has easy access to restaurants and shops. We arrived before check-in and were able to get into our room early. We stayed on the top floor and our room was never as cool as we would have liked and the air conditioner was quite noisy. Otherwise we had a good stay. The room was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly.

This place is worth every penny Friendly , Affordable, very clean . I'll definitely come here again. Our room was very clean and we had everything we need at hand. Breakfast was excellent and staff was very friendly. Beds were comfortable even though the sofa bed was not but everything else was nice. we had a junior suite and its includes a kitchenette , I definitely recommended to anyone going to visit UMass Amherst.

I chose the Holiday Inn because when I stayed at a previous hotel the clicking on and off of the A/C kept me awake at night. Luckily here I was able to set the A/C so it didn't keep me up. The room was very comfortable not too big,not too small. A unique feature that you might appreciate as I did is that the windows open in case you want some fresh air. The bathroom came stocked with plenty of soft towels and complimentary mouthwashes, shampoos and more. Complimentary toothbrushes and toothpast... Read more

Spent two days here visiting family and friends in Amherst. Great locale and right down the way from a Wendy's and across the road from a Moe's. Hotel was nice and quiet and well maintained. Breakfast was good and had eggs, bacon and side items. Well worth the stay and enjoyed it.

I had the pleasure of staying here while my son attended a summer class at UMass Amherst. Breakfast was good, with a nice variety. Hotel was neat and clean, very well kept. Staff was helpful and friendly. When guest laundry dryer wasn't working, a very helpful gentleman named Marcelino offered to dry my clothes in the hotel dryer. I appreciate him going above and beyond. I also want to acknowledge management for sending pajamas to my home that I had accidentally left behind. Thank you so much, I... Read more

New(er) hotel. Nice room, nice common areas. The breakfast attendant was less than friendly when we inquired if there was any soy milk. She somewhat abruptly pointed out the selection of dairy milk. Some other HIEs have soy milk/gluten free options; somewhat surprisingly, this one did not. Also, it would be preferable if smokers were discouraged from smoking just outside the front door. In general, though, a very pleasant place to stay. We have stayed here before, and would stay here agai... Read more

Clean, Comfortable. It is always so nice when you go somewhere and they know what customer service is. The clerk at the desk. Was very accommodating. We held our room on line and did not realize it was only one king bed. They changed our room. My grand children enjoyed the pool. Morning breakfast was great. Nice area.

During our stay at this hotel we were a little underwhelmed. The bedroom's AC was leaking water and did not get very cold. Secondly, the bathroom was small and the tub cramped, for a person of normal size. To be specific, if you were taller than 5'5" good luck. The tub was slippery as if it was coated with rain-x. Could you please make the shower curtain longer? By the way, what happened to the furniture in the room? There was no reading table, or end table next to the oversized chair. The pillo... Read more

It's a typical Holiday Inn but what makes it special is the pride the hotel staff take in fulfilling their job. The desk clerks and the breakfast staff were courteous and helpful. It's a comfortable place - easy to get to from RT 91 and accessible to all colleges in the area as well as interesting sites to visit - Smith College, Amherst, and Mount Holyoke. There are art museums around too which were very interesting as well as the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library.

It's unfortunate I couldn't give this hotel 0 stars! I had my purse and all of its belongings stolen from the breakfast room on the first floor. I left my purse hanging on the back of the chair and went to our room to get our suitcases and immediately realized I had left it. Ran right back in less than 5 minutes to see that it was gone. There was not another sole in the dining area when we left or when I ran back as it was closing time EXCEPT three kitchen/cleaning staff. Of course, they di... Read more

I stayed here 3 nights while moving my son into his dorms at UMass. The location was perfect for us as it was right next to campus and it had plenty of shopping and restaurants near by. Our room was nice and clean. The beds and pillows were a bit firm but otherwise OK. The morning buffet wasn't anything fancy but perfect for a quick bite to eat. My only complaint was the price--because it was move-in weekend for the university kids, the weekend rate was almost doubled. Yikes! It made an alr... Read more

My husband and I stayed here recently for a friends wedding. We were here for a total of 3 nights. The lobby was decent and clean. The elevators sounded and felt like they were from the 1980's and I did not feel particularity safe in them and just took the stairs to the second floor. As soon as we entered the room it smelled kinda weird. I figured it was just due to being older and a Holiday Inn. The room itself was decent, nice little kitchenette and couch. Bed was very comfortable as well... Read more

Our experience was similar to previous stays at other holiday inn express, i.e. Convenient, no frills, clean and relatively inexpensive. Furthermore, it was close to the Eric Carle museum and comes with breakfast so we were able to visit the museum with the kids in the morning while the grandparents relax in the hotel. Filled with Amherst students and their parents on orientation week but expect other weeks to be quieter.

This hotel is right down the road from downtown Amherst. It is very convenient to both Amherst College and UMass. It is clean. The breakfast is a decent free breakfast with cinnamon buns, toast, bagels, muffins, oatmeal, eggs, breakfast meats, yogurt, etc. There is a pool! An exercise area. The beds are comfortable. Everything you'd normally expect. Oh - the price was decent too.

This is a great business stay hotel! I needed one night for a two day seminar, and wasn't looking for anything special. I was thrilled with my room. Super clean, super comfortable bed, and a great shower head. Yes, that is important to me. I hate having to spend 10 minutes trying to get shampoo out of my hair because of cheap old shower heads. They advertise a breakfast in the morning. I assumed I would grab a muffin or a box of cereal. They had a full breakfast. Eggs, sausage, toast, ci... Read more
