DINING
Creating drama on a plate is achieved through the perfect combination of flavours, colours, tastes, aromas and textures. Excellent ingredients are the starting point. The chefs delight in procuring original ingredients imported from the country of origin. As a complementary practice, the Taj chefs like to work with local farmers to obtain the local, organic products they need.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared at The Cafe, which overlooks Newbury Street through a wall of windows. This eatery prepares New England favorites, while blending Italian and French influences. The Lounge provides spirits and silver-and-china tea service, featuring teas custom-blended for Taj Boston. Wood paneling, garden views, a fireplace and live piano music enhance The Bar.

We loved our two night stay here - I had asked for a quiet suite and we were hidden on the 12th floor in a corner room that was huge and very quiet! We needed to sleep and we did that easily. Great location and we walked at least six miles a day to get to museums etc but of course you could easily use the T too as hotel right at Arlington stop. Only problem we had was incredibly long check in but it was a holiday weekend and they were understaffed. They made up for it in other ways including gi... Read more

The property is lovely, the housekeeping is flawless, and the service is truly extra-ordinary. And don't miss some of the best Indian food you'll ever eat - even through room service. Every detail is attended to, without ever feeling like people are hovering. Use the valet to check your bags and then move your car to the Common for less expensive parking. It's only a 2 block walk, through the Public Gardens.

Classic Boston, enjoyed everything about the hotel. Glad to see that all the traditional elements of old Ritz remain. I do appreciate that the hotel is now dog friendly, very important !! Would definitely stay there again.

Boston revisit to old Ritz Carlton, was the Boston Hotel and still has some Ritz employees. Great location, excellent food and beverage. Just an iconic property. Great location to exercise, park right across the street.

I enjoyed a quick stay the the Taj Boston this past week. Arrived after a long day of travel and enjoyed the efficient check-in and the welcoming room with lights on for a friendly greeting. The fireside lounge was the perfect place to grab a quick bit to eat and watch a little football on a very cold January night. The only reason for not giving my stay a 5 rating is that you can hear the TV of the room next door especially when it's on at 4 AM.

My husband and I stayed at the Taj in December to enjoy some Boston activities. Overall it was an nice stay with a few caveats. Upon check-in the reservation system was down, so we were forced to walk around outside until it came back up. The suite was large, though dated, and the bathroom was quite small. It was nice to have blackout curtains in the separate bedroom. If you decide to valet your car ($50 overnight fee), note that it seems to take 20 minutes for them to retrieve it for you.

A very nice, efficient hotel ideally located at the foot of Newberry street and across from the Common. Quick walks to the Freedom Trail and great shopping and dining. Hotel staff is very accommodating and quick to help with all your needs. Definitely a keeper when in town.

The Taj was the perfect location for our weekend in Boston--close to the Arlington T stop and close to shopping and dining. Our rooms had spectacular views overlooking the park and one had a fireplace. The Fireplace Butler Service was fantastic. We had different types of wood to choose from, each with different burn times, and the fire was built perfectly for us on each of our two evenings. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were small, and there wasn't a coffee maker in the room. The room... Read more

We spent the New Year weekend (2 nights). It is an old institution, with a cosy bar over looking the Boston Commons, comfortable rooms with either park or city view and many places of interest within walking distance. We walked to MFA and Boston Public Library for concert. The help from Sarah, the Concierge was invaluable! The morning complementary coffee on the main floor was just of outstanding quality (beats Starbucks) with a small muffin or croissant. While all other restaurants around the h... Read more
