It was overall good and clean, and located in a good place. Besides, we were treated with respect in a positive atmosphere. What else do you want in a trip? Experiencing luxurious hotels by itself is good, but when you want to enjoy walking around and going outside a lot, the main reason for having a room at a hotel in sleeping on a good bed, in a clean room and positive environment, in a good location - all available at Midtown Hotel.

Very good all around. Great location for museums, Back Bay, subway to downtown. Very quiet on my floor. Room seemed too cool on arrival, with a/c going full blast. Shut it off and it was a bit better. Would stay there again.

Stayed in Boston for a conference and the location of the hotel was great. I was close to the conference and not too far from Boston Commons and sites along the freedom trail. The beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

$30 to park is rediculous after paying the money that we did. No fridge in the room or a place to eat in the morning. I don't think I would ever come back here. Although the woman at the front desk was great, it was not a good experience.

We love the downtown location of this hotel, service is always good and the rooms are clean. We did miss having a luggage stand in the room and some kind of hook for a hand towel in the wash area would be helpful. We always enjoy coming here and will be back.

Very grateful for this budget-friendly and centrally located option in Boston. Also grateful for the lovely and attentive staff. Not grateful for the not-so-great soundproofing which made sleep a major challenge.

We stayed here for one night when we arrived in Boston before we started our fly drive of New England. It's in a great location, but I would say it's more of a motel than hotel. Rooms were very comfortable and quiet but there's no resteraunt on site. There is, however, a great cafe called Thorntons for breakfast one minutes walk away (go out of the hotel, turn right and it's just down the road) but get there early as it gets mobbed! Very very helpful reception staff and concierge who arranged us... Read more

Location is great. Room sizes were huge. Clean and all necessary amenities are there. No noise at night, no problem during sleeping. Considering location, price is cheap. No food served in the hotel, but a great many places available nearby to get all kinds of food. Stuffs are friendly. If you need, ask for an airport / elsewhere ride, which is pretty cheap ($30). Driver was very friendly and arrived on time (e.g., 6:30 am!). In general, to commute to / from airport, even cheaper option is airpo... Read more

We stayed here twice now. Once for a concert and another time for a Red Sox game. Both times the staff was friendly, police, and extremely helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the price was right. The location is great, within walking distance to Fenway and the house of blues making it vert convenient. The only complaint we had was that we happened to go the second time on very very hot and humid days and the AC in our room was subpar. Walking into the hotel the lobby was cool and c... Read more

My colleague and I stayed here to attend the Literacy Conference. The positives: great location - we walked everywhere, beds are comfy, it was very clean, room is fairly spacious with lots of storage, and the staff was helpful. Negatives: walls are very thin - you will hear your neighbors, bathroom is tiny, our drains in the sink and tub were slow, no restaurant for breakfast on location, no fridge in room. This hotel is located perfectly for business. My only frustrations was the room. It was clean and the service was good but, the bathroom sink and bathtub had very slow drainage and very old fixtures. It also lack the amenities you would expect to have when staying downtown in a major city. The only amenity was a swimming pool.

The hotel was very nice and clean, the staff was helpful, and the beds were comfortable. The first night was quiet and peaceful, however the next three nights were almost impossible to sleep through. I could hear every door close, people above me sounded like they were stomping and throwing things on the ground, other guests were in the hallway making phone calls and having people coming to their hotel rooms. You get what you pay for. It's not the Marriott, but you're not paying Marriott prices. Location is great. Service was fine. I didn't have hot water the first morning. I didn't realize I had the run the water for 15 minutes before the water got hot. I figured that out the second day. The low flow showerhead was a negative. Otherwise, room was clean, had everything I needed. I was here to attend a conference, wasn't in the room much. Free WiFi worked great.

This is a gem. A reasonably priced, centrally located Boston hotel in one of the most expensive hotel markets in the country. Nice, recently refurbished rooms. We took the subway there - the Mass Ave station is only a block or two away. Our friends drove there and parking in the underground garage was included! Breakfast is on your own but there is a good cafe, Thorntons, just down the street. Helpful staff.

This review is by an admittedly spoiled American. As another reviewer mentioned, the facility falls on the border of the motel category. Most likely built in the 1950s, it is white painted brick, with an underground parking garage. Depending on which room you're in, the elevator can be an unexpected distance away, as there only appears to be one elevator for the entire hotel. The facility is perfectly clean, and everything worked great. I had some trouble with the "free" WiFi, unless I took my c... Read more

I needed to book a room while in Boston the last minute and The Midtown Hotel was very accommodating. I know the price range I've paid when I've stayed at the hotel previously and the price they charged me that night was right in that range. They could see I was desperate and they could have charged me anything that night. The staff, besides being very honest, was nice, greeted me with a smile and overall very pleasant to deal with.

The Midtown Hotel is easily accessible by car, near the subway, cheap and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Parking was reasonably priced by Boston standards. Unfortunately, the structure is not well insulated and the rooms on the side of the road are too noisy. It is better to ask a quiet room.
