The room was adequate. The main issues that detracted from the experience was that the wifi barely worked and it was sporadic when it did, and the walls were very thin. The guy next door was on the phone a lot and we heard every conversation. Also, none of the vending machines (that I found) worked. All of the staff were top notch, friendly, helpful, and pleasant. The room was very expensive given the issues, but it was a busy week and the market bore it.

Clean hotel and rooms, reasonably priced, walking distance to so many great areas of Boston. Would love to see recycling for at least plastic bottles that are sold in the motel pop machine. But Boston has great recycling so we carried out the bottles and used city containers.

Stayed at the Midtown from the 30th to the 3rd. We were in town as a mini vacation for our kids first trip to Boston. The midtown really impressed from the moment we walked in the door. Arrived to the hotel around 1130am and was able to check right in. Which was really great since we just arrived via a 7hr amtrack ride. The location is perfect. Close to everything 5 min walk to the prudential center a 15 min walk to fenway park. Really is close to everything and half the price of the other hotel... Read more

The Midtown Hotel had a very friendly staff and was comparable to a Comfort Inn. The location was a 25-minute walk to downtown. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious, the pool was very nice and clean. One thing to note was that there really aren't any convenience stores nearby and no breakfast is offered. If you're willing to walk to the downtown area or figure out the metros, this is a good choice for a family, and it is affordable for the Boston area. We would stay here again, an... Read more

The hotel is in a convenient location but has the nerve to charge the same price as much nicer hotel brands in the same vicinity. We had a two queen bed room which was immaculate. The bathroom was also clean as could be. I'm amazed at prior reviews complaining of smells and noises. I was visiting Boston while my son attended his college orientation. The location was ideal and the staff friendly and helpful. The room was clean and a good size for two double beds. The parking fee was much lower than at other hotels. I thought that I might be bothered by the street noise but it didn't turn out to be a problem; most of the cars take the underpass on that part of Huntington. As advertised, this hotel is unique. It is more in a "motel" category, in my opinion. Think I would have appreciated it more if cost was lower, but still best price I could find in central Boston. Great location, beautiful pool, clean spacious rooms. Weekday staff was courteous and inviting, the weekend staff did not acknowledge us as we passed through the lobby. We visited Boston from Oct. 6-10, 2016 and stayed at the Midtown Hotel. We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel that was central and basically, just a place to crash. The Midtown Hotel fulfilled all of our expectations. It is close to two subway stops (Symphony and Prudential) so it was easy to buy a pass and hop on whenever we wanted to go somewhere (the subway system is a bit creepy and dated but that is nothing to do with the hotel). The rooms are quite large and the beds were clean... Read more

OK, let's get the good stuff taken care of first. That's the location. Really nice! Right next to the Symphony Hall, across the street from the huge temple and library for Christian Scientists. I recently paid over $320 a night for this hotel during a convention, and I was ashamed of myself. There's no reason for that kind of rate at this hotel. It's -- at best -- a $79.95 room, and in appearance not much different than a Super 8 or a Motel 6 (more like the latter, because some of those Super 8'... Read more

We were told this hotel might not live up to our expectations - but on the contrary, everything was great. Given a complimentary upgrade to a Queen De Lx room. Staff extremely helpful and very pleasant. Cannot praise them highly enough. Would definitely return.

The hotel is in a great location with downtown only a few minutes walk. The hotel itself is very basic. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the tiny hairdryer is surprisingly powerful. The corridor to the rooms is a little grubby but that's only a tiny thing when you take everything else into consideration.

Our office assistant had booked this hotel for us for those who came from abroad for internal company meetings. We had also a meeting room reserved. As soon as I stepped into this hotel, I thought this is not a business hotel, it's a MOTEL. The smell in the lobby was awful, I don't know what that was, maybe some floor cleaning detergent? And everything looked so old. The meeting room was also awful, despite it being called "Executive Room". We canceled the reservation for this meeting room a... Read more

Overall the price could be considered as quite high for the quality of the hotel, but it should taken in consideration that this is Boston and the city is extremely pricey especially about lodging. So if you are looking for a centrally located basic hotel from where you can walk anywhere (from Fenway to the Freedom Trail) and that's also very well served by public transporation, this is a top choice if you want to save some money. Honestly we were looking just for a place where to sleep so we ... Read more

Four women in one room with no a/c was terrifying enough, but 4 women trying to put make up on in a bathroom with a 10 watt lightbulb just didn't work. We found the blow dryer in a drawer on the last day. The communication between the front desk and room service was awful. Although room service did an excellent job when they were notified. So very disappointing. Would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family.

Some of the 4 & 5 star hotel staff nearby could do well to emulate their good customer service! This hotel rated highly by other travellers on various booking sites.

I have no complaints other than the no water in the room and the early morning wake up door slams. The maids shut doors very loudly, woke me up every day when they started their shift. About the 3rd day I realized I was in 264 and it was close to their supply closet. You might not use that room or insulate the rooms better, or the supply closet. I loved the location and will be back Nancy Hart

As Northeastern parents we found that the Midtown was the most convenient location to stay for campus visits. We, of course, found the price one of the most attractive reasons for our visit. The rooms may not be the most lavish, the amenities not the most luxurious - but the facility is clean and the staff very hospitable. And the wifi much better than on our previous stay.

My husband and I were in town for our son's college parent's weekend. I have always wanted to stay at the Midtown--it is a unique landmark in Boston! Our stay was excellent. Our room was huge, clean, and a bargain with the college discount. Right on Huntington Avenue so close to everything and walking distance to boot! I will stay here again next year!! I hope the Midtown stays for many many years to come. My only negative was the mattress wasn't super comfortable, but only a very very minor iss... Read more

The location is fantastic, between two subway stations, and just one block from Symphony Hall and one block from the Prudential Center. The price is much lower than surrounding hotels. Yes, the building is old, but the rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, the parking is convenient, and the WiFi is free. The weather was cold during our visit, but our room was actually too warm at times. We modulated the temperature buy opening a window.

I was disappointed - stayed here as I could not get a room at our conference hotel - the Midtown is close to the convention center so it was convenient. The room was just OK. The bathroom fan was noisy and the cleaning person didn't seem to want to leave towels or wash cloths. After using the bath mat on day one they removed it and never brought another, so I used towels on the floor and then had no towel. It just didn't seem very fresh or clean. Stayed two nights never really used the hotel facilities, apart for the coffee maker, as out and about in Boston.

I am not sure that is entirely good, but if you are looking for a decent place to stay in a convenient location (especially is you are driving in on I-90 East) and at a reasonable price, you may want to check this hotel out.
