The past 3 times I stayed, this was a great place.. THIS TIME, the clerk did not speak adequate English, there were no new towels for 4 out of my 7 day stay (and I was told I could come to desk to get clean ones but they would not send anyone up with them); the staff failed to quiet down a group of kids (and parents!!) yelling upstairs.. Their answer was "they live here and they do this every Sunday afternoon".. Total disrespect for others (another guy left the lobby prior to me, based on same... Read more

We needed a room for the Northeastern University graduation at TD Garden. The other hotels were booked and/or out of reach price/distance-wise. The Constitution Inn was a God-send. We walked from the Constitution Inn to the TD Garden on the morning of the graduation hassle-free, rested and non-stressed. Thank you Constitution Inn!

For affordable accommodation close to town this is a great find right next to the navy yard tourist spot . There is a free shuttle close by which takes you to transit and TD garden . They come every 15 minutes and every half hour after 8pm. The same shuttle back is right outside the T. I don't know why other reviews had problems with this . It's an amazing convenience. Free shuttles also go to various museums from other transit stops. The room I had was huge with 2 double beds, lots of sun and a... Read more

The location of this hotel was ideal, nice and close to the USS Constitution and Main Street in Charlestown. The hotel itself left much to be desired. The hotel pool and workout facilities are definitely a perk, they are through the YMCA that the hotel is connected to. The second floor is a women's shelter, which we discovered on the first night of our stay when a woman was struggling with some boxes and her young child getting into the hotel. The beds were small and the rooms were pretty stuffy... Read more

Staying at the the Constitution Inn on our recent trip to Boston was fantastic! The rates were much lower than across the bridge, but we were walking distance to everything. For those who wanted less walking there was a free shuttle. The hotel was quiet, clean and the staff was very helpful. Stayed here for a week in June. Room was large with very comfortable beds and a bright well lit bathroom with nice fluffy towels. Fom the Constitution Inn, it is just a short walk to the Charleston Navy Yard, home of the War of 1812's USS Constitution and the Constitution Museum. Just a little further, you can learn all about the events that led up to the Revolutionary War by walking the Freedom Trail or relax on a Duck Boat tour of Boston Harbor. There is also shopping, great restuarants and nightlife. The Constitution Inn is not fancy, but it is clean, comfortable and economical. I enjoyed my stay there and plan on sta... Read more

I stayed at the Constitution Inn for work and had reserved the room and gave the company credit card information at reservation. When I checked in, they asked for a credit card for, what I thought, was for incidentals. This beyond charming location more than makes up for the cinder block walls and the government building feel of the place. There's a grocery store that's right on your way down to the waterfront which is a beautiful 10 minute walk. There's also a big park and war memorial in case the stunning views and perfect waterfront stroll aren't enough! My friend and I stayed 1 night at the "Constitution Inn" and thought it was not worth $192/night. First, the bathroom is a bit small and there is no counter space area to set things on. This hotel is a no-frills hotel. It is comfortable; the bathrooms are very old and extremely small. The hotel gives you the idea that it used to be a dormitory. Clean and decent location. The price was 1/3 of what you would spend at most of the other hotels in Boston and with the extra, we were able to go to a Redsox game. So, if you're just laying your head down for a few hours, it's a decent deal. If you're planning on spending a lot of time in your hotel, I would stay somewhere else.

It turns out that the hotel is an old barracks but the owners have done nothing to upgrade it. Dealing with staff was difficult. The elevators took forever to come. We chose this hotel because of the price and location. We attended an event at TDGarden and we could walk there from this hotel. The accommodations were okay, nothing special. My only two complaints are the outlets in our room were loose, so they wouldn't hold the plug in so I could charge my electronics and the pool was closed at 6:30 on a Saturday! My daughter was very disappointed.

My family has been there twice now. The rooms are clean and as advertised. Kitchenette worked great since we are on a budget. Staff very helpful on parking and using public transportation. We'll be back.

We selected this location because of the proximity to downtown and it offered a shuttle to the train station. Actually the hospital furnishes the shuttle and we can all use it. That part was really great. The hotel is old and in desperate need of an update. We stayed the first few days of November and our room was on the upper floor in the corner. It was hot as crap. Apparently the hotel turns off it's AC and you can no longer use it after a certain date no matter the temperature outside.... Read more

I cannot tell you enough not to stay there. Yes it is cheap, but very dirty. No parking on property. You need to park in public parking and walk. Very, Very dirty. Hassle to get any money back. DO NOT STAY
