Great location in downtown Boston. You are steps away from the Arlington T entrance. The staff is very friendly and gave us an upgrade on our second stay. The hotel rooms are smaller, but they are clean and modern. They could use more insulation in the walls. We were next door to a couple with a very small baby. Needless to say when the baby woke up so did we. I appreciate what they have done with the building by remodeling and saving a beautiful Boston building.

When we arrived to check in there was a small line but it was Memorial Day weekend. We had reserved a comfy king room but we're upgrade to a king suite. The view from our room on the 14th floor over looked the commons. The room was still a little small but it didn't bother us sine we were staying for the weekend not living there. All the staff was extremely friendly. There were a couple events going on in the hotel but it's was always quiet. There are 2 restaurants in the hotel and a library th... Read more

This hotel looks very nice. The king size suite is a very nice size. My friend had a queen size room, and it was small. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very clean. Huge lobby. Nice restaurant. Had breakfast and dinner there. The workout area is large with a variety of machines. The only complaint I have, is the valet service. It should be made more prominent on where you need to go. Other than that, our stay was great.

The hotel is ideally situated for sight seeing around Boston. The hotel was clean and tidy and the hotel staff were very helpful. The hotel is also close to local restaurants which are also vey good. I will certainly be returning to this hotel on my next trip back to Boston.

I absolutely love the upgrade. We used the hotel for an event and decided to stay for the weekend. Fantastic location, excellent hotel, the room were very clean and to my expectation, admirable bathroom facilities. The place has a great bar in the lobby and tones of great restaurants in the area. You will find some of the best site best sightseeing in Boston in walking distance from the hotel.

Old fashioned in a way, with odd doors and smaller baths. A plumbing leak meant I had to move rooms; was moved into a beautifully renovated suite with a great city view. Much better! Hold out for the renovations: charm preserved, comfort enhanced.

Recently there again for business, and the multi-million dollar renovation is complete, though I miss the charm and character which has been all stripped clean in this misguided upgrade. The lobby bar has been moved to the middle, leaving a lot of wasted space, also, the glare from the very, very efficient over-head lighting makes it very difficult to watch whatever is being shown on the tv screens, and the relentless, redundant, repetitive "new age" "music" constantly droning on? Whose idea was... Read more

This is a great and historic hotel in a convenient downtown area. Although the lobby and restaurant are large and newly renovated, some of the rooms are quite small and the bathrooms are even smaller. With the bathrooms, it is neat to see some original fixtures, but it was a little underwhelming for the rate paid.

Hotel has been recently rehabbed and is beautiful. Our room is a bit small, but it is efficiently designed and has nice furnishings. NOISE is a very serious issue though. The walls between rooms and to the hallway are paper thin. We were woken up throughout the night, and, due to some discourteous neighbors (who variously fought, and then started to sing at 4:30 am), we slept very little.

Wonderful, updated old hotel in a perfect central location. One block from Boston Common, with mass transit access right out the door. Complementary access to a real fitness center, not just a hotel gym. Only complaint is that this part of Boston is LOUD, and wished the windows were more soundproofed. I would definitely recommend the hotel to future travellers or anyone hoping for a base to start the Freedom Trail (a 10 minute walk from the start) Our poor start to our stay was due to a late evening check in, 8.30pm despite the hotel having substantial notice of well over 4 Months and a note on our booking ... The David Barton gym is so well equipped and it is great that it included. Our wifi was included too. I had a great experience at the (new) Park Plaza Boston. The renovations are wonderful...lobby is modern, hip, gorgeous...but at the same time the hotel has been able to keep it's wonderful history intact. My room was small but comfortable and new, same with bathroom. Love the walk-in shower. Had dinner and breakfast on property and the food was very, very good. All the staff I encountered were friendly, even when very busy. Great hotel and location.....the Park Plaza Boston is back!

Had to book last minute or sleep in connecting flight airport. We were hot and tired so we did a hotel search as this was our first trip to Boston! The hotel in which we were staying had nothing available for last minute booking! So we went with the least pricey hotel! Last minute booking and our room was $650 and was incredibly small! It was clean and the bed comfortable! I just had a really hard time paying so much for such a tiny room!

Boston Park Plaza is a really nice hotel in a good central location, beside parks, shopping, and tour stops. Totally wins on location. We had a twin superior room on the 14th floor, and it was quiet, comfortable and very clean. Our room was spacious, so if space is your thing, do not go for the cozy room. Our bathroom was small, but big enough to cater for all bathroom activities! I was aware of the daily charge for wifi, but it really doesn't make sense. Internet is now really a basic facilit... Stayed at the Park Plaza recently for a business trip and it exceeded my expectations. The decor embodies the historical roots of the building - especially the "Library" area off the main lobby where they have a nice touch of having buttons on the tables you press when you want service!! The rooms are unconventionally large for a city hotel and the staff was extremely helpful, especially Rob the hotel manager.

Pretty location and nearby the metro. Bedrooms are small (had to rearrange furniture to open my suitcase!) but the beds are very comfortable. Not ideal noise-wise. It was a weekday yet the corridors always seemed to have loud groups in them. Reception staff, one man in particular, absolutely had attitude however the ladies were all polite and helpful. Room service very efficient.

The hotel is clean, the building is huge, staff is generally good, and at least some of the rooms are so small that you can barely make it past the foot of the bed to get to the window. Wifi is good, the lobby is spacious so that you can meet someone for a drink or eat. Varied crowd- business travelers, Europeans, and a few families. Boston has a lot of conferences so during these times rooms are well over $400 per night and for those prices I'd rather stay at a Starwood property where I don'... Read more

Although the location of the park plaza is ideal, the accommodations were unacceptable and over priced. The rooms were unclean, noisy and the room was so small we could not walk around the bed without turning sideways. Management was rude and unwilling to accommodate any requests. There are many other acceptable locations in the back Bay Area.

Spent four nights at this hotel. The good: staff were attentive, room was cleaned regularly, and was clean when they finished, very close to Boston Gardens and the Boston Commons for walking/runners, always had taxis out front, a number of restaurants right in the area. The not so good: Our room was very small, one chair small, the bathroom was very small, one person at a time small, not lots of room/draws to put stuff away, we always saw lines at the check in stations, and some people comp... The room was so small two people could not pass at the bottom of the bed and when the wardrobe/cupboard door was opened, it hit the bottom of the bed. There was a safe in the room and coffee/tea making facilities. The wifi was unreliable and when we contacted reception concerning this, the guys were unhelpful and rude. We stayed here while visiting the city for a Bruins game. Check in was very fast and easy. We were given a cosy queen room which is certainly cosy but very nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. The size of the room was plenty for us, my husband, 1 year old and myself especially since we were just using it as a base. The bathroom has a good shower and lovely products. The lobby is very impresive. Great location, good stopover.

There was one chair and barely room to get out of the bed. We complained and moved to a King room for a $45 upcharge. Came to the Boston Park Plaza for my wife's 50th birthday trip. The location was excellent and close to the Boston Common and plenty of things to do. Our original room was very tiny with no dresser or drawers and very little room for the luggage. We upgraded to a one-bedroom suite for $57 a night additional. This was better with a nice view. We noted a few small issues, cigarette smoke in the hall near our room and the lobby bar was unnecessarily expensive.

It only cost me and my husband a couple of Dollars each and was very fast so I definately recommend using this method of transport if you have flown to Logan airport. I stayed here on two occasions. The rooms are small and nice. Price is generally good based on location and amenities. The thing that drove me crazy was the smell in the lobby. It is this overwhelming perfume smell. It will stay with you your entire stay whether you are in the hotel or not. By the second day it was giving me a scratchy throat. I could even avoid it at the gym in the basement. Get rid of that smell and it is easy 4 stars.
