"I have stayed in numerous hotels in Boston though the years, from the Lenox & Onyx - level hotels to the Embassy Suites & Holiday Inn's. I was more impressed with the Hotel Commonwealth - by far - than any of the other 4 star properties I've visited, and not just because of it's excellent location (Kenmore 'T' entrance both next door & across the street, along with Fenway Park, shops, & dining options close by). I had an upgrade to a suite as a special through this site, and enjoyed excellent accommodations & attentive staff for the duration of my stay. I search for convenient locations during my visits to Boston and this may be one of the best for my needs. Other than relatively thin walls, which is common to many Boston hotels, I have nothing negative to say."

"We had an enjoyable stay but their claims to be the #1 hotel in all of Boston seems a bit of a stretch. There was no turn down service in the evenings, the bathrooms was just average and the bed wasn't very comfortable at all. I did appreciate that the hotel had a bottle of champagne and truffles sent to our room in celebration of my husband's birthday. Again, it was a nice stay, but not the best in all of Boston for sure."

"Pillow Top bed was a little disappointing, we have been to many other hotels with lower ratings and the beds were more comfortable. Overall we loved the hotel and we will return on our next Boston visit. Great location!"

"Last weekend was my family's first trip to Boston. While we enjoyed everything about the city, the best part was our stay at Hotel Commonwealth! The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The location right next to the 'T' made transportation affordable and easy! I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Boston."

"The hotel exceeded our expectations! The staff was friendly and helpful. When I joked that I didn't get an Easter Basket, a box of truffles was delivered to our door! It was so convenient having the 'T' right down the street.I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Boston."

"Very nice hotel. Beautiful furnishings. Very spacious rooms. Staff incredibly helpful. Very quiet considering the hustle and bustle on the street outside. Within easy walking distance of Fenway, Newbury Street. Subway station literally under the hotel - so convenient for getting around. Great restaurant downstairs with delicious breakfast."

"We stayed 3 nights in a Fenway room, two queen beds, extremely large room with comfortable beds, bathroom . towels , FRESH brand toiletries a delight. , all employees extremely kind, right in the center of BU campus and next to train and subway to make traveling exremely easy."

"Hotel Commonwealth is truly a wonderful hotel. It is very deserving of all the great reviews. We were treated like we were VIP's and the staff is awesome, friendly and helpful. Our Fenway room had a noisy air conditioning problem and they not only moved us to an upgraded room, but gave us breakfast and free parking for our 2 night stay. We love Boston and do intend on going back again, and will not even consider another hotel. We were offered turn down service upon check-in, but we declined, so I don't understand what happened with a previous traveler who posted they don't offer it. Hotel Commonwealth is fantastic and a great location, a block away, if you are going to Fenway, which we did take in a game. All in all, a very nice stay and highly recommend."

"The location for this hotel is great for the ballpark and the Kenmore Station (MBTA- Boston's subway). We eat at Island Creek Oyster Bar and Eastern Standard Restaurant. They were both were great. The reason I would not recommend this hotel was the staff. When I had returned to my room after the ball game, I had to request that my room be cleaned. When I returned to sleep late that evening, my bed was not turned down. There were two television since we upgraded to a suite and they both had to be reset. I must omit it was Boston Marathon weekend, but the price level I had paid this was unacceptable."

"My husband generally makes the hotel reservations for our family. Unfortunately my daughter and I stayed in some pretty nasty places during the college search so we didn't have any idea what to expect when we were booked into a hotel in Kenmore Square. Oh my goodness- The Hotel Commonwealth was a home run on all fronts. The staff couldn't be nicer, the accommodations were luxurious and beautiful and the breakfast was delicious. We were offered complimentary bottles of water on arrival (much needed after the long drive). Despite the fact that the hotel is in Kenmore Square our room was very quiet. We're hoping that my daughter ends up at school in Boston so we know that we'll stay at this beautiful, convenient hotel. LOVED it."
