We recently stayed overnight at the Hotel Commonwealth. We were there one night for a Red Sox game and stayed in one of the new Fenway Rooms. We have stayed there many times before, but never on the Fenway side. What a delight and what a spectacular view. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The bed and down pillows made for a wonderful night's sleep. The free wifi was a big plus. And any amenities you need--simply order on the convenient tablet provided in the room and someone promptly bri... Read more

My had a weekend convention here at the hotel so we spent and couple of night and got a great room rate. The hotel is upscale and classy. We stayed in one of the Kenmore Kings, this was a decent size room for an in city room with a larger flat screen TV than normal. The bathroom was very nice and mostly marble. The room of course was spotless. The hotel itself does not have much to offer as far as lobby, bar, etc. but there are two excellent attached restaurants on either side of it which can be... I stayed at Hotel Commonwealth for 3 nights last week (5/16-5/19) and overall it was a good experience. The customer service was very good and staff are very accommodating. My room was very nice and spacious, and the location (Kenmore, directly next to the T stop) could not be more convenient. The only 2 downsides were: 1) noise level - My room overlooked the Mass Pike and so I heard traffic all night long. and 2) cleanliness of room - the dresser drawers were dirty and a black latex glove... I stay in Cambridge frequently for business, but had never stayed at Hotel Commonwealth before. I was so pleasantly surprised by everything about the property and am already planning on staying here again! The young woman at the front desk (I wish I remembered her name!) was so helpful when I checked in and offered me a room facing Commonwealth because it would be quieter than the one I had reserved since I was staying for 4 nights. A beautiful hotel that is about experience. Just steps from Fenway, this classy spot has great ambience. Comfy beds. The service staff are amazing. A smile at every turn. Pricing can be high, but watch for deals using your booking App. Well worth the money. Greatful for their accommodations for us as we arrived from a red eye flight. A new favorite for us. We'll be back. Just hope the Redsox win next visit!

Our stay was wonderful once we were able to get into our room. It was a little hairy because we didn't get into a room until 3:05. I had to get a little nasty about it which I wasn't comfortable doing but I had requested early check in months in advance. I was fine that we didn't get it but at the check in time at 3:00 the room still wasn't ready. That was unacceptable considering the room was 500 a night.

The Hotel Commonwealth has a much modern look than I remember from my last visit eight or nine years ago. I remembered ornate and stately; this is sleek and modern. In any event, it was a great experience, with comfy robes, wonderful bathrooms, and great staff. It's odd that the staff had to specially bring me a coffeemaker these days, and it had to go in the bathroom in my room because the room didn't have enough flat-surface space near an electrical outlet. But that was a small issue; the rest... Read more

This hotel is nicely appointed, great looking lobby and rooms (we were on the 4th floor and facing Fenway Park). We were in Boston to register our daughter at Boston University. Beautiful scenery, great photo opportunities, fun gift shop...overall we love it!!

Stayed in upper floor Junior Suite. Roomy and comfortable. Amenities are a pleasant addition to your stay; small refrigerator (stocked with complimentary water bottles) , coffee maker and micro upon request. We are frequent guests of Hotel Commonwealth whenever we are in Boston. Staff is most helpful and pleasant. If you like oysters, you MUST try the Oyster Bar located on Hotel premises.

This was our second stay at The Commonwealth. We love the ambience and location. We were there for a James Taylor concert at Fenway...we could see the park from our room!!! ( Did I mention we are avid Red Sox fans?!?) ??? Walking distance to Femway... fantastic!! The valet service was excellent and the room nicely appointed.. It's our go-to hotel in Boston, for sure! We were celebrating our anniversary and couldn't have felt more pampered.

My wife and I loved this hotel. The staff was among the best we have met in our travels- friendly and always helpful. The hotel itself was beautifully designed, the room spacious and immaculate. Located in the heart of Kenmore Square, you can't beat the location if you visit Boston.

Second visit to pick- up daughter from BU which is just steps from the door. Got an even nicer room this time - beautiful and large corner room. Staff couldn't be nicer and location is super convenient for BU and Fenway. Lovely place. Great restaurants are also located right on the property so that is a plus.

Combines the best attributes of a stylish boutique hotel with the organized service of a high-end chain. Decor is modern with subtle nods to baseball like the stitching on the drapes or the carpet's subtle pattern. Feels artistic not gimmickry.

My spouse, 8-month-old infant, and I stayed here for a night as part of our vacation travels. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, particularly because we were traveling with so much "stuff" thanks to our young one. The room was quiet, clean, and well furnished, with a king sized bed. Plenty of room for our infant bed, as well. Our daughter liked "playing" with the in-room tablet computer. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. The Kenmore T stop is right outside, so it's very easy to... Read more

Picked the Commonwealth primarily for proximity to Fenway for concert (not baseball this time) The location speaks for itself, easy walking distance and access to and from Fenway Park. The good news is the Commonwealth does not rest on the benefits provided by location. The desk staff was kind and courteous. The room was spacious and well maintained, maybe recently updated? The location is also very convenient for nice evening walk to Newbury Street, described as the Rodeo Drive of the east.

Unless you're in Boston for the Freedom Trail kind of tourist attractions (easily accessible by train, taxi or Uber/Lyft), you really can't beat the Back Bay / Fenway area. There was a concert, but no Red Sox game, when we stayed, so it may be crazier when the Sox are in town, but liked the activity on Commonwealth Ave., and the Oyster Bar downstairs was terrific. The Front Desk staff was also fantastic (extremely friendly and professional check-in/check-out). We were, however, a bit disappoi... Read more

Hotel Commonwealth was my choice for our concert weekend. We stayed in the Fenway Executive Suite (a corner suite) which, while pricey, was the perfect size and location! We were able to sit on the (very large!) balcony and listen to the Friday night show while watching the audience and light show. It was a quick walk to Fenway on Sunday. The bathroom double shower was a big hit with my family! This was a very busy weekend but the staff from valet to housekeeping were very accommodating with... Read more

Just arrived back from our amazing trip to Boston. The Hotel Commonwealth is a great hotel with prime location near Fenway. All of the staff at the hotel were so nice and helpful. The hotel has been newly renovated and the decor is amazing - loved the houndstooth and baseball stitching on the curtains. We stayed in a Junior Suite with a sofa bed - provided enough space for my husband, daughter and I. Each space has its own TV, but the only thing that separates the two spaces in a Junior Suite... Spent 2 nights with my family while coming in to see the Red Sox win. We really enjoyed the hotel and great service. Had 2 separate reservation and they put us next to each other on the 3rd floor facing Commonwealth with good views. Location is perfect, close to Fenway and the Green Line T. Service was outstanding, although valet parking was pretty steep at $53/night, but could be going rate. The rooms are spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. Great space, amazing catering (even our clients commented on how good the food was the staff who went above and beyond) and they could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The fitness center was disappointing as we were spoiled by years at the Charles which has a much nicer gym. Hey guys, time to upgrade! Super convenient to have the Ha... Read more

I stayed here in April 2016 as I was running in the Boston Marathon. The hotel is right on the route itself so it's fairly easy getting back once the race is over. Additionally, there's a T stop just steps from the hotel so it's easy to get to and from the airport, and Fenway park is right around the corner. The hotel itself was great. We requested a room facing Fenway Park. The two boys 13 and 8 were thrilled to see the lights at night. The hotel is located over a subway station which made travel downtown very simple. No coffee maker in room unless requested at check in. Didn't utilize the restaurants in the hotel but they were always crowded and very highly thought of by the locals.

I hate writing this review. That's because I don't want everyone to find out about Hotel Commonwealth. But, they deserve the truth. Hotel Commonwealth is a perfect retreat, especially for parents of BU students. The location is ideal, the rooms are extremely comfortable and luxurious.
