Adjacent to North Station and trolley stop for tourist activities, which was object of my visit, so suited me. Overwhelmed by roadworks and building on all nearby roads which looks as though will continue for several months. Staff helpful and pleasant, buffet breakfast fine. Parking extremely pricey and not on site. Be prepared for noise as you are in central location.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The rooms are starting to get where they could use a refresh. The price of the hotel isn't great for the rooms and room size. They get you because the location is really good. You can walk to the nearby markets, shops, restaurants and bars, as well as to several different pick up spots for the tour buses or just walk to about half of the most popular historic places in the city. You can also walk to the "Little Italy" area of N. Boston, as it's just a... Read more

The Hotel is located near the Subway, all Tour Busses stopping location . and the Italian section of Boston and there is construction across the street that starts about 7 AM but it was not so loud that I could not sleep in till 8:30, so no big deal for me or my wife and she is a light sleeper . The breakfast is same that you will find at most Holiday Inn Express locations in America , Eggs 3 ways , Bacon, sausage, pancakes, breads like toast , bagel's, English muffins, cereal, fruit. We suddenly needed a hotel for a Sunday night - and were able to book it that same day. We were hoping to get close to the North Station for a Monday departure, and we were successful! The staff were extraordinarily fun and kind, and helpful when we said we REALLY needed a quiet sleep.

We stayed here for one night in a double-double room. It is not in the best area, but is somewhat central for sight-seeing. The staff & valet were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice, but the elevators were really slow! A lot of construction going on at the arena across the street, so the view wasn't great, but should be when construction is done! Hard to find a room in Boston under $300/night!

Although it´s on a street that is being repaired you wont hear any noise from the bedroom. Bedrooms are normal size and fully equiped with everything you may need. You will have complimentary breakfast with a lot of options to pick from. The staff is the most remarkable thing from the hotel. Everyone is really nice and wont hesitate in helping you with directions, places to go and how to move in the city. You can go walking to the market and freedom trail and it´s only five blocks away!! Summary 1. I do not recommend valet parking ??OPTION?? (it is actually an option, although it doesn't seem like it.) 2. Make sure your stay won??t be influenced by the construction right in front of the hotel.(as of April 2016) Hotel is a bit old and had little bit of break-downs. It wasn't as bad as it is described in some other reviews. (My usual reference of standard is Intercontinental. I chose to stay here, as I couldn't get a reservation in downtown due to the Boston Marathon.) Cons 1... Read more

My one night stay was marred by an appalling checkin experience: given key to occupied room, by a particular front office staff who had poor attitude , & was most unhelpful. Although room I eventually got was quite nice, found service generally unfriendly. Expected more as room rate charged was far from "budget" Pity! Given convenient location, this could be a great hotel with better service, and a modern facelift to public spaces

We stayed here as part of our 3000 mile family road trip which started with Hershey Chocolate World and Park (see separate reviews). I almost always choose a Holiday Inn Express (HIE) for the consistency and to build points. The staff at this location are excellent. I had a couple of issues but the initial staff handled them well. CAUTION: This location is not a typical HIE. The building is old and not a free standing location. The room was warm during the day even with the AC on max. The roo... Read more

Service, staff and rooms! The welcome of the staff was amazing. We arrived, very tired after a nightmare journey in the city centre, with heavy traffic and driving around the city as our GPS could not bring us to the right place. The hotel offers valet parking but we wanted just to leave our suitcases and to return our car to the rental place. The valet guy offered us the possibility to park just outside the hotel, do the check-in and then come back to drive away, very helpful after a long journ... Read more

When the taxi turned into the street to drop us off my first thought was 'surely this isn't the hotel'. It looks awful from the outside and the seedy looking bar directly across the street doesn't help. But on going inside the staff on reception were excellent and friendly. We had a room on the 3rd floor facing the Garden stadium. It's a good job with the jet lag that we weren't sleeping past 6.30 because that's what time the construction starts and believe me it's noisey. The room was good ... Read more

Hotel is in a convenient location next to the north station subway stop. We found it easy to get around using that stop. The hotel staff was very friendly, courteous and quite helpful. The hotel is looking pretty tired and the surrounding area is rundown. The biggest complaint was the smell of sewer gas in the hall throughout the fifth floor. Inside the room we could not smell the unpleasant odor

Location is super convenient to Boston Garden and other sites. Bed was pretty comfortable as were the pillows. But the property inside is borderline shabby. Stains on the carpets and drapes in spots. A/C that just doesn't cool the room down. Otherwise room and bathroom were clean. Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is in a great area. Easy to walk to bars, restaurants, and shopping. TD garden is across the street. Even though the hotel is in the middle of the city it is quiet in the rooms. We stayed in a suite and it was very nice. It had a kitchenette two queen beds and fold out couch.

The lobby of the hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms were a fairly good size for Boston. This hotel was very crowded. The room was extremely small for 2 people. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was very disappointing, with the odor in the hallways disgusting at best. Also, the soundproofing of the rooms was terrible--could hear everything in nearby rooms and from the street. For the price, it was very disappointing.

We were surprised by the appearance of the outside of the hotel. It's not traditional and is a bit worrisome at first glance. However, the staff was gracious, friendly and helpful; the breakfasts were good; and the room was perfect for our needs (touring most of the day; there to rest and sleep).

Directly across the street from TD Garden! Valet your car and walk from the front of the hotel into TD! In spite of the sketchy looking exterior of the building the lobby is very well re-done. The hotel Corredor's are very narrow. We stayed in a queen suite with a pullout sofa. That's where the good rating goes bad. Upon arrival the room was not ready and it was 4 PM. This hotel is an interesting mix - the building is clearly old, the hallways dingy and winding, the elevators slow and smell funny. BUT their staff are terrific, the room was clean although small with a substantial amount of space devoted unnecessarily to a kitchen which one or two travellers wouldn't really need since the only appliances were a mini-fridge and microwave so the big sink and empty cupboards didn't make sense. The meals, cleanliness, staff, decor, bed quality and everything would easily be a 4 or 5, but we just felt the street it was located on was kind of sketchy. Other places on the street had lots of graffiti, etc. It was actually very convenient to walk to the North End and to Boston Commons, etc. Just wish the hotel's neighbors would clean up their act and make the whole street inviting and safe looking!

The location is adjacent to TD Garden Arena with several local fan bars on the street. The outside is unassuming giving a clue to the interior. The hotel needs a face lift to keep the IHG brand standard. The staff is friendly, marginally helpful, and somewhat efficient. Short walk to Government Center, downtown, Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market etc. Some loitering in neighboring street in daytime which feels worse than it is. Good Wi-Fi when I could connect. The best thing about the HIE is the location, close to TD Garden, North Station, Faneuil Hall. Rooms are a decent size with a small kitchenette area, breakfast was adequate. Staff were very helpful and offered guidance on local area. I agree with other reviews that the street the hotel is on is not the best street and at $350 a night it can be pricey but if you are looking for a good location to stay in Boston then this is a good choice.
