Using a AAA discount, this was easily the most cost effective in expensive Boston lodging. Location in the theater district was convenient and also close to Chinatown restaurants. Bathroom was nicely redone, as was the large lobby with bar and separate sitting area. The room was smaller than most and did not have a mini fridge or safe but I was willing to trade that for paying less than $250 per night rather than over $300. Staff was friendly. Also liked the snack and sundry store on-site w... Read more

spent 3 nights here and found it to be small but comfortable, great location central to everything and would certainly stay here again, great for families or business travel, ask for a high room so noise from downstairs clubs does not interrupt sleep

I booked this hotel because it is right across the street from the Wang Center, in the theater district. We would be attending our granddaughter's law school graduation, and since I have some mobility issues, the hotel seemed like the best choice. Every staff person we met was lovely. No complaints there. The room was clean, but very small. I asked for an 'accessibe shower' to walk into (not climb over a tub) and that's what I got, but there was no way to keep the water from just about filling t... Read more

Stayed overnight to see a show across the street at The Wang. Place was a little small but very nice. Employees were friendly and helpful. Who knew the best part would be the bartender!? She went above and beyond. Thanx for a great night Renee!

I have never stayed in a hotel that left complimentary earplugs on the bedside table. Earplugs and a note wishing us a good night's sleep, along with a coupon to scan to download free white noise. And with good reason! We could hear cell phones ringing in the adjacent rooms, and some serious Saturday night street noise - through a closed window on the 7th floor. Also: THIS WAS THE SMALLEST HOTEL ROOM I HAVE EVER SEEN. The bed takes up virtually the whole room. And it's a QUEEN. I'm 5'8" and I ... Read more

Top hotel in terms of location. This time unlike my previous stay they actually had running water this time. The room is spotless and very quite despite being central. But the hotel is poor value for money. No in room safe, no fridge. The breakfast was dull and tasteless. No business centre. Considering the cost this place barely makes the grade. The Seaport Hotel is a much better deal for the price

No hotel shuttle but only a short trip from Boston Logan Airport by taxi costing $35, including tip. Checking in was a breeze helped by very friendly and efficient reception staff. Our time of arrival was roughly 3am UK time so we were somewhat travel weary. Somehow I managed to"lose" the credit card I checked in with. I discovered it was missing in our 11th floor bedroom and went back down to reception to see if it was there. After a thorough search no sign of it. One of the reception guys, Wil... Read more

The property is clean and staff very good. Food that was served in meetings and also the restaurant breakfast was very good. The room was much smaller than expected. Typical lower end hotel as far as iron and ironing board quality. ALL of the outlets in the room were loose - like wiggled off the wall loose. Great TV. Good lighting. In the center of the theater district. 2 mile walk to Fenway - safe city. Plenty of restaurants and bars in the area.

In the theatre district, close to Chinatown and the common, an excellent location for getting around the old part of Boston. The rooms are small, but comfortable and clean, but most have no view, the inside rooms face each-other. It can be a bit noisy, but it is in the middle of a city. The staff are very helpful, and the hotel is well maintained. There is a bar, and a small eating area for breakfast and dinner, but no lunch. The gym is very small, but adequate. The location is great! That's all that was great about this hotel. Nothing typical to a Marriot. Rooms were small but clean. Service was not at all Marriot service. Employees were not friendly or helpful. We talked to three people and waited an hour and half for a roll away bed. There is no conceirge so go with your own plans.

Check in was quick and the staff are friendly. We were given a corner room which is slightly larger than average rooms, which was appreciated. The lobby was nice and there was starbucks coffee available for purchase in the mornings. The hotel can get pretty loud on the weekends, so a room away from the elevators would be best.

We stayed at Courtyard Boston Downtown for 4 nights while attending a conference. The rooms had recently been upgraded and were tastefully decorated for practicality, such as multiple open shelfspaces, and spacious bathrooms with glass doors, and the paint schemes of the room walls made the rooms look more inviting and looked more like an upscale hotel. Check-in was a breeze, staff were courteous and helpful. Cold water (with fruits in them) was available all day and sometimes large cookies serv... Read more

This was my second trip to Boston this year. The first time I stayed at the South Boston Courtyard and it was ok, but the downtown location is much, much nicer. South Boston is 6 stories high and they gave me a room in the back on the 3rd floor... no view at all, unless you count dumpsters as a view (I don't). South Boston doesn't have as nice a bar area and restaurant either. I did try a bowl of Clam Chowda at the bar, not bad, but not the best around. However, the drinks were nice and str... Read more

This is the second time I have had to stay here for a work "retreat" and I hope that I will not need to stay here again next year. Here is what you should be able to expect in a courtyard Marriott: friendly service, hot water, a working room key, and edible food. But six months ago and again in June, they didn't deliver on these basic things. I got over the fact that the water was cold, I dealt with the fact that I had to go back to the Lobby three times to get a new key, but I can't get over t... Read more

This hotel fell far short of the minimum standards you would expect for any Courtyard Marriot. The hotel is next door to a nightclub, which was blasting its bass the night we checked in. The lobby was rattling, and unfortunately, so was our 9th floor room. I was up until 3 am because of the noise. The manager rebooked us into a different room for the next two nights, but the damage to out weekend couldn't be undone.

I just returned from Boston for the 4th of July weekend and stayed 3 days 2 nights at this hotel. They had an early check in for me at 1pm but said if I waited an hour they could get me a better room with a view. They came through and I had great views of the city skyline. Nice, clean, cozy room. The room was OK and well appointed. but Boston seems to be expensive. For me, it was a lot to pay for what you get. We have stayed at this hotel a few times because we like the location. It is in the theater district which abuts Chinatown and the Commons. We enjoy walking, so we find it convenient to walk to the Back Bay and downtown areas. There are also several T stops within a few blocks. It is a noisy hotel. Well not so much the hotel but the surrounding area. Nightclubs, Tufts medical center and the highway are close by so street noise (sirens, bass bumping, etc) can be a factor. Staff was very helpful and friendly, especially the housekeeping & the door men !!! Short ways to many theatres, Downtown and Harbor / Quincy Market in walking distance as well. Apples in the Lobby for free every day as well as fresh water with fruits. I stayed in this hotel last time in 2009 and it was wonderful to come back again! :o)

I stayed at the Courtyard Boston while in town for a conference at the Hynes Convention Center. For the price paid (discounted as part of the conference rate) and as a solo traveler, I was happy with the experience overall. Staff are friendly. Rooms were spotless and modern. Paul Mitchell bathroom products. Breakfast (not included with my rate) served Starbucks. Local road construction could be heard in the morning (is there anytime with NO road works though) and we found ear plugs in the room and sound system played ambient noise if you wanted. Centrally located easy walk to the commons and right at the theatres.

First time in Boston and picked this location given the location and the price. We have stayed at Courtyards in NYC but this was a shock. The other comments about the hotel having small rooms are true. This is probably the smallest hotel room we have ever been in. It was very cramp for two adults. No luggage stand was provided since there wasn't enough space for one. The only chair was at the desk. If you need to have more than just a bed and a desk, spend the money and stay at another place.

Clean and comfortable. Great shower. Nice lobby with great front desk people (Denilda was awesome!) apples and chilled fruit infused water available. Also get a nice spot to buy a drink or a coffee. Didn't notice it was particularly loud- but the hotel does provide you with a cute little pouch that contained ear plugs and a free download for relaxing music! About a 10 minute walk to Suffolk University.

Wedged between the Theater District ad Chinatown, the best thing about this Courtyard is the location. You are walking distance to those areas and Boston Commons, start of the Freedom Trail, Boston Gardens and a healthy walk to the Hynes Convention Center. We were in town for a convention there and the walk was through a main street, safe area with lots to stop and see along the way. This hotel is in a great downtown location, but I don't think I have ever squeezed into such a tiny room, even in NYC. There was not even room for a bathroom door to open out or in, so it had a sliding door that clearly did not fit the doorway--it didn't have a lock on it nor would close all the way. You had to turn sideways to get around the bed past the TV to get to the tiny bathroom. I clearly did not get one of the "spacious" rooms described by other reviewers. With a rate of $279, it was ... Centrally-placed hotel in Boston's theatre district. We had a quiet room on the ninth floor at the back of the hotel. Hotel is in the theater district and near Chinatown. Many good dining options nearby including Abby Lane almost next door. Staff is pleasant and efficient. Rooms have a contemporary feel unlike most Courtyards and are themed for the theater (some of the artwork is a little odd!).
