For our purposes, this was a great hotel. It was conveniently located near multiple Boston sites as well as several T stops, the bed was comfy, and the rate we paid made it a steal. The rooms are small (reminded me of hotels in NYC and Europe), but we only slept there, and were out and about the rest of the day, so it didn't bother us.

My girlfriend and I were beyond pleasantly surprised with our stay! The website does not do it justice! After booking on short notice I was so happy to find something fairly priced and relatively close to where we would be attending a family party that I neglected to double check amenities..... like I said, the website does not do it justice.... upon our arrival I was ecstatic when I saw the coffee bar in the lobby after being under the assumption that "no coffee pot in the room" meant a total... I booked this hotel at the last minute as the hotels I usually stay in were sold out. Checked in around midnight and walked into my room to find it smelled like cleaning products and a musty, recently cleaned carpet. Bad but bearable. I awoke to the worst smell you could imagine. Like sleeping in a cat morgue. I have a baby at home and I would have preferred to have slept on a bed of dirty diapers. I checked out and to their credit they gave me $100 off the room so I saved my company some... Read more

We were happy to find an affordable hotel in Boston, especially one that was so central. The room was clean, the hotel is small but has everything you need. We came back one day and the battery in the smoke detector was dying so there was a constant beep. We phoned and someone was in our room within minutes changing the battery. The hotel staff was accommodating and friendly. We walked everywhere - and there's plenty to see right around the hotel. Close to shopping, the theater district, r... Read more

I found this hotel when desperately searching for a hotel within the company budget that was near the conference I was attending. No regrets about going here. It is in handy walking distance of lots of restaurants, Boston Common (for the Freedom Trail walking tour) and the Hynes Convention Center. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Let me start this off with, I hate when people play dumb about complaints. When asked about the noise concerning the window, the guy upfront had noooo idea what I was talking about. There was no lock on the window, so you couldn't force it shut completely. Also, the windows weren't sound proof, meaning, all you heard all day and night was noise from the outside. The bed was like sleeping on the floor, rock hard. I think I had a back ache for a few days after staying there. The air conditio... Read more

I didn't have a great experience at the Chandler Inn. Here's what happened, and why I'd still recommend it. I wanted to love the inn from the moment I arrived: charming location, attentive staff, hiply styled (if small) rooms. All good. Moments after I entered my first room, I realized the noise from the corner bar (which was loud and hopping) pervaded my room. I requested a change and the front desk staff quickly and nicely obliged. After settling into room #2, I realized the toilet was r... Read more

It's a small hotel but nice and has a cool (gay guy ..I think) bar downstairs but would stay here again if in town and just needed a place to stay that's not crazy expensive in a decent location.

The Chandler Inn is located in a very nice neighborhood, at the border of Bay Village and South End. The area, as also Backbay, has very beautiful and cozy houses, and cobblestone alleys. The hotel is relatively small, but very nice. I was given a room at the top level, the eight floor, (the hotel has elevators, which is nice), and the view from my room was amazing!! Our room was on the third floor. When walking in, our neighbors in adjacent rooms had their doors open and were pretty loud, however once we were in our room and closed the door we couldn't hear them. The location was fantastic - we were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. We parked in a garage a few blocks away ($33 for 24 hours). Felt very safe walking in this neighborhood even late at night. Next time we have to come to Boston, we would go out of our way to stay here!

Having taken our hire car back to the Airport, we had an easy journey into Boston and The Chandler Inn. A little tired but we liked the 24hr coffee in reception and ice on demand. Air con was a must and very efficient. We were on the 8th floor and it was very quiet. Short walk into the hub of the city. It was a nice place to stay. Reasonably priced. It was really close to Back Bay station (subway, Amtrak and commuter rail access), but in a nice residential area. I??ve never before written a review of a hotel, as a room is just a room ?? it??s not the reason you go on a vacation. However, this facility is so AWFUL I feel compelled to alert other travelers. The bad: Noisy room: Be warned, if you are staying on the first floor (or second, as they call it in the U.S.) you probably won't get much sleep. Whenever a hotel has three negative strikes, I'm tempted to warn others. We stayed at the Chandler Inn for two nights at the end of August, 2016.
