This historic hotel (The Black Sox scandal started here!) is in a great location near Fenway, BU, the T, and a train station. Many of the rooms have been recently renovated. The staff is friendly and concerned that you are happy.

If the fire alarms had not gone off two nights in a row I would have given it an excellent rating. The Fenmore Grill was great for breakfast. The staff both in the grill and the hotel were friendly and helpful. The gentleman who was on desk duty, at 4:30 a.m., when I needed to get a cab was wonderful.

The location is right by Boston University, Fenway park and the T. We were in town for BU graduation so we were close to all the BU activities. The room was dated but it was clean. One morning there was no hot water in the shower. The elevator was out of service for a while and wifi was spotty. Overall the room was adequate.

A/C in room was weak, the gym had no water,TV,towels,A/C, and the treadmill was old and didn't work correctly. Otherwise, it was ok. Historical hotel in a decent area, next to Fenway Park, decent breakfast. Updating the A/C, and Gym would be a great improvement

Good, safe and clean option in the Fenway/Kenmore Sq area. Fairly priced with a good breakfast place downstairs. There is no room service and parking is in a garage next door. The decor is not luxurious-more of a no frills place. But it's quiet, the beds are comfy and it has what you need.

Title explains it all, great location right outside Fenway park perfect for a baseball game. Room was pretty nice but not special by any means. Things like the outdated hallways and laughable "fitness room" we're noticeable. Biggest problem for me is price and I understand location hikes the price. wouldnt mind as much if room was nicer but a Mediocre room kind of left my dissatisfied

This friendly hotel is close to the Boston subway & very accessible (we travelled in from the airport via the blue line & then green line). The hotel rooms are clean if a little tired. But the staff were friendly & helpful. We were travelling around and delighted to find a guest laundry (washer and dryer) on each floor. All good value too.

I just paid over $300/nite to stay at Hotel Buckminster. The sheets on the bed were clean but the room itself is bad. It needs a complete overhaul. The ceiling tiles appear to have black mold and the ceiling itself looks like there has been painted over water damage. The carpet is filthy. I kept my socks on to avoid it. The walls appear to have had something spilled on them as there are streaks running down them. The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold. They need to take some of the ... Read more

Got a deal from Travelocity. We ended up staying two days here. Yes the rooms are a bit "dated" but you should expect this for as old as it is. Pros: friendly staff, clean rooms, convenient location to the T and Fenway park, several restaurants & 7eleven in walking distance Cons: no breakfast, no coffee maker, bathroom was a tight squeeze, small parking garage $35 per night

We could see Fenway from our room and walk very easily to restaurants and nightlife. The staff was very kind and efficient and the room was clean and well laid out. We did have an issue with the water in the shower not getting hot, but when we called the front desk, they were able to reset the boiler and remedy the issue. Parking was a little pricey at $35.00 a night, but that is to be expected in Boston.

I booked Buckminster because it was a conference hotel, but the block was gone before I booked. I booked anyway. Huge mistake. Major bucks. Tiny room. No desk (I was there for WORK!). Noise was outrageous from game fans. Food was awful in the restaurant. Staff were not friendly (except restaurant and the woman at check in). On our recent visit to Boston we stayed at the Buckminister for two reasons, 1. It was close to the conference venue and 2. The price was within the my per diem at under $400 per night. Basically, this hotel has a great location in the Fenway neighborhood but the condition of the hotel and the service is pretty marginal. If you're going to a game at Fenway, this is the perfect location. Just walk over. It's an old hotel with a nice ambiance. The bed was comfortable but the room was tiny. There were no extra outlets and we had to crawl on the floor and unplug the reading lamp to charge our phones. I love the Hotel Buckminster. It's a very old building (read the historical plaques on the front of the building), so it doesn't have the fastest elevator, or 5 star amenities. It has charm, a fantastic staff, and the location is perfect. Rooms are very clean, and the "Fenmore" is a wonderful little restaurant. If you are going for a Red Sox game, you are a baseball throw from Fenway. The Green Line stops right there in Kenmore Square (under the iconic "Citgo" sign). Walking distance to ma... Read more

The Buckminster is an historic hotel with a great location - walking distance to Fenway, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, and much more. It's also across the street from the subway, which makes it easy to get downtown. The staff is great. The hotel offers an excellent combination of a sense of history with modern conveniences. Be prepared to find your own coffee either at the hotel cafe (which we did not go to) or two nearby Starbucks.

Great location for our one night stay after a Boston Red Sox game, but the room was a bit disappointing after seeing the beautiful building outside. The room could use a lot of TLC; we had sinks in rooms that did not function at all; one was even missing a faucet and the bathroom was just that a small area with a single sink (not much counter space), a toilet, and a tub/shower all of which were old and resealed with caulking one too many times. They did offer coin laundry which is a plus.

The hotel is pie-shaped (think Flatiron Bldg. in NYC) and older, so the rooms aren't all square--or flat for that matter (there was a step up to the bathroom). The room was cozy (yes, small), but had everything I needed, including a full bath and HD tv. Instead of the usual crappy breakfast buffet of most hotels, they supplied me with a discount coupon to the adjoining restaurant, which serves (good) food all day and into the night--and has a bar! The building is a bit tired and worn. Not worth the price we had to pay. Staff was friendly and helpful. But little things like the first room they gave us was way at the back of the building right next to the Mass. Turnpike - noise was deafening! They did move us..no full length mirror in the room and hot water supply was not consistent. Would not stay here again.

The two-bedroom suite was spacious and clean, friendly staff, and we had a short walk to Yawkey Way which led my sister and I to many restaurants and bars...having Fenway Park adjacent was pretty special, too! We would highly recommend the Boston Hotel Buckminster to our friends and family.

Stayed there because a colleague did Had room on second floor which was quite nice (wood floors and all) and clean and large and wifi functioned also well. It came at a steep price (of more than 300 dollars) but it was only for a night, so that was that. Location -- near Fenway Park -- is good and only a 12 dollar taxi ride away from South Station and about a 30 dollar taxi ride away from Logan airport. The little restaurant in the building is fairly good (try the clam chowder!) and prices are ... Read more

Hotel is conveniently located to everything. Easy walk into Back Bay shops, restaurants and activities. Across the street from Fenway Park. Friendly staff and accommodating to special requests. Parking is available next door. A little pricey but worth having it there.

Stayed at the Buckminster the night of the Billy Joel concert. Walking distance to Fenway and local pubs. We had a smaller room. Comfortable bed clean environment good secure parking. I believe they do some package deals as well. I will be calling them in the future to check out the package deals.

I booked a Deluxe Queen room with Two queen beds. The suite was spacious but unfortunately it stank of cigarettes and mould. I wish I took heed of the reviews on TripAdvisor and Booking.com! The building is very old and in serious need of renovations. The furniture was old and worn out, the bathroom was small with stains in the tub and the shower was absolutely disgusting. I felt dirtier after using it. The only plus side is that it's in a good location. Boston is an amazing city and we thor... Read more

Having stayed in New York & Cape Cod in the days prior to our visit to Boston we were expecting Hotel Buckminster on par with the other hotels given the cost (more expensive than both) however we were very disappointed! The hotel was very dated, the rooms were very small with lots of exposed pipes and weird noises, infact our Grandmother was placed in a dark, damp smelling, cold room not much bigger than a closet with my brother with only 1 Queen bed even though the booking stated Twin room. This hotel is just amazing. The staff is super polite and professinoal. We came here in March first and our first choice of hotel was this hotel for the return visit now. We will definitely come here again. The location is also amazing , next to Target and Marshalls 5 stars
