This historic hotel (The Black Sox scandal started here!) is in a great location near Fenway, BU, the T, and a train station. Many of the rooms have been recently renovated. The staff is friendly and concerned that you are happy.

If the fire alarms had not gone off two nights in a row I would have given it an excellent rating. The Fenmore Grill was great for breakfast. The staff both in the grill and the hotel were friendly and helpful. The gentleman who was on desk duty, at 4:30 a.m., when I needed to get a cab was wonderful.

Spending weekend to watch Red Sox.. This location is perfect.. Easy walk to park.. Bars and the T. Hotel is older so don't expect modern.. Room was an economy so smaller but clean room and service was great. A little note.. Parking is next to hotel and $35 a night. We will stay here again

The location is right by Boston University, Fenway park and the T. We were in town for BU graduation so we were close to all the BU activities. The room was dated but it was clean. One morning there was no hot water in the shower. The elevator was out of service for a while and wifi was spotty. Overall the room was adequate.

A/C in room was weak, the gym had no water,TV,towels,A/C, and the treadmill was old and didn't work correctly. Otherwise, it was ok. Historical hotel in a decent area, next to Fenway Park, decent breakfast. Updating the A/C, and Gym would be a great improvement

Good, safe and clean option in the Fenway/Kenmore Sq area. Fairly priced with a good breakfast place downstairs. There is no room service and parking is in a garage next door. The decor is not luxurious-more of a no frills place. But it's quiet, the beds are comfy and it has what you need.

You can't get a hotel closer to Fenway. The restaurant is nice and offers a variety of options. The smoked turkey sandwich is excellent. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the laundry room is convenient.

Title explains it all, great location right outside Fenway park perfect for a baseball game. Room was pretty nice but not special by any means. Things like the outdated hallways and laughable "fitness room" we're noticeable. Biggest problem for me is price and I understand location hikes the price. wouldnt mind as much if room was nicer but a Mediocre room kind of left my dissatisfied

This friendly hotel is close to the Boston subway & very accessible (we travelled in from the airport via the blue line & then green line). The hotel rooms are clean if a little tired. But the staff were friendly & helpful. We were travelling around and delighted to find a guest laundry (washer and dryer) on each floor. All good value too.

I just paid over $300/nite to stay at Hotel Buckminster. The sheets on the bed were clean but the room itself is bad. It needs a complete overhaul. The ceiling tiles appear to have black mold and the ceiling itself looks like there has been painted over water damage. The carpet is filthy. I kept my socks on to avoid it. The walls appear to have had something spilled on them as there are streaks running down them. The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold. They need to take some of the ... Read more

Got a deal from Travelocity. We ended up staying two days here. Yes the rooms are a bit "dated" but you should expect this for as old as it is. Pros: friendly staff, clean rooms, convenient location to the T and Fenway park, several restaurants & 7eleven in walking distance Cons: no breakfast, no coffee maker, bathroom was a tight squeeze, small parking garage $35 per night

We could see Fenway from our room and walk very easily to restaurants and nightlife. The staff was very kind and efficient and the room was clean and well laid out. We did have an issue with the water in the shower not getting hot, but when we called the front desk, they were able to reset the boiler and remedy the issue. Parking was a little pricey at $35.00 a night, but that is to be expected in Boston.

I booked Buckminster because it was a conference hotel, but the block was gone before I booked. I booked anyway. Huge mistake. Major bucks. Tiny room. No desk (I was there for WORK!). Noise was outrageous from game fans. Food was awful in the restaurant. Staff were not friendly (except restaurant and the woman at check in). Hotel is historic, and being a historical gal, appreciated that. Teeny tiny room for really high rate. I was given a wifi code, but it never really worked well. Low band... Read more

On our recent visit to Boston we stayed at the Buckminister for two reasons, 1. It was close to the conference venue and 2. The price was within the my per diem at under $400 per night. Basically, this hotel has a great location in the Fenway neighborhood but the condition of the hotel and the service is pretty marginal. The front desk staff had multiple issues with the billing and didn't seem too interesting in putting forth much effort to make sure the guests were satisfied. However, houseke... Read more

The location was perfect as we went to a Red Sox game (about a 4 min walk), took the commuter rail to South station for the Tea Party museum ( 5 min walk) , took the subway to get into the city and to the North station line to hop onto a commuter rail to catch a train into Salem as well as to get over to Quincy Market.. The only thing is that we didn't call ahead of time for a shuttle bus from the airport and they said it would take an hour to get there in the early A.M. Hours when it only took... Read more

Rooms are very spacious, beds comfortable, the bathrooms are small but clean and very well stocked with toiletries. Hotels in Boston seem very expensive if you want to find near the city centre. This hotel is in the heart of the tourist area - one block from the T stop and one block from Fenway. There are lots of restaurants around - there is one downstairs. The rooms are clean and basic. I got one with two very small and uncomfortable beds. Not sure if this was because I booked on priceline. I think the prices are high for what you get - no breakfast was included. There was WIFI and a safe and cable TV. But ... Read more

My husband and I and a friend traveled to Boston for the 4th of July. We had tickets for the 1:35 game at Fenway, and were able to check in at 11:15! The 2-bedroom "suite" was dated, but very clean. A back door from the hotel is just a very short walk from Fenway. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious. We will return!

If you're going to a game at Fenway, this is the perfect location. Just walk over. It's an old hotel with a nice ambiance. The bed was comfortable but the room was tiny. There were no extra outlets and we had to crawl on the floor and unplug the reading lamp to charge our phones. The bathroom was small and the light switch was on the outside wall so if you turned on the light in the middle of the night, you flooded the bedroom (and your sleeping partner). Our room (which I thought was just a king room) was actually like a small apartment with king sized bed, separate sitting area with TV and pull out couch, kitchen with table and chairs. Very nice. Only complaint was very small sink area in the bathroom and not enough room on there to get ready. Room #209.

Very close to Fenway Park and the reason I stayed there. The park is just outside the back door. Staff was great, didn't use the restaurant. The service at the front desk was friendly and the hotel appeared to be clean and safe. The room was a comfortable size for two and had everything you may need in a hotel stay. However, the room that they gave us was located near a room in quite a dark corner that made me a little uneasy. Also, the floorboards right at the entrance of our room was very creaky and loud. The bathroom was alright but the shower head's spray was haphazard. Overall, the hotel was decent for a place to stay overnight.
