Building is dated. Furniture is updated, but carpet was stained in the room I had. There is a full service restaurant and bar (free breakfast and happy-hour). Food was average, typical bar food. Hotel staff was very friendly.

We had a quick overnight visit to Solomons Island and vowed to return and stay at this Holiday Inn again when we have a little more time. The setting is beautiful ?? right on the Patuxent River and with a nice marina, and there is much more to explore on the island. Great and unique shops, good restaurants, nice (short) boardwalk. Hotel was clean and spacious, and restaurant looked out over the river and marina and had wonderful breakfast foods.

We held a fund raiser here and stayed at the hotel. The staff was top notch from the front desk to the servers at the meal. Ginger, our banquet captain, was on top of it all the way. So refreshing! The facilities are very clean and well suited for a professional presentation. The meeting rooms are easily accessible from the lobby and restrooms are nearby. The only reason I held back on a 5 star rating is the experience I had with the wifi connection. Free Internet connectivity is extremely im... Read more

This hotel has a lot of rooms. Accommodations were fine, decent room, decent view. A lightbulb was out, fixed next day. Complimentary breakfast very good. Happy hour was nice but not much variety of food. Decent friendly helpful staff. Meets all your needs I would recommend.

After being moved to room on 4th floor it was comfortable. The ground floor room near the water had bugs that had crawled in due to proximity to the water. I enjoyed the stay although the 4th floor room had minor repairs needed. The sliding lock on the door to the adjacent room had been removed. They only put one each regular coffee, tea bag, and decaf coffee bag for the coffee maker. As a tea drinker, I needed more. I was on a fishing trip so I checked out by 5 AM.

This hotel has a lot going for it. Though the outside of the building is a bit gloomy, the lobby, pool area, and outside bar and patio are very pleasant. Our beds were very comfy, and the room was quite clean on arrival. Unfortunately, our stay deteriorated When we went for our (supposedly free) breakfast on our first morning, there was a line of guests waiting, though the restaurant was half empty. Eventually a staff member came to tell us there would be a 5-10 minute wait "we're trying to get ... Read more

Rooms were old and tired. This is our second reunion here. Food reminded me of a bad wedding reception. Ham and turkey green beans. Really? That is 1950. For what we paid should have been fun beautiful finger foods so we could mingle with old friends. Staff was great though! They were trying so hard to please. Young front desk manager was exceptional. The hotel lost our prepaid reservation for two nights. We did not get the room that was requested but front desk manager did his best to find us... Read more

I stayed here while in the area on business and choose it because of the great location. Overall the Hotel was comfortable and the Staff were very friendly. However, I was disappointed that when I arrived there was a used coffee pouch in the machine and it had not been cleaned. Also the bathroom floor was not clean, especially around the toilet (you can use your imagination here) and the draws in the room had sticky splash marks up them from some time ago. During breakfast the restaurant was ove... Read more

I stayed here for three days last week during a work conference. I was upgraded to a corner suite which looked out onto the marina. The room was nice with windows on two sides with a balcony. There is a mini refrigerator and a microwave. Black out curtains sufficiently blocked the sunlight. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable (bed way too soft). The A/C did not work the first night and when I reported it to the front desk staff, it was promptly fixed. They were very friendly and helpful.... Read more

I could only connect to the hotel internet in the lobby, not in my room. The hotel staff first tried to blame the weather (it was storming) and blow me off. They finally gave me the # for a tech support who wasted 30 minutes and still couldn't solve the problem. I was forced to spend the evening in the lobby to get my work done, and the staff continued to be rude--loudly yelling at each other and such, knowing that I'm sitting here just trying to get stuff done so I can go to bed. It's 2016--y... Read more

We visited this property for a short getaway to Solomons Island. The hotel is adjacent to a marina and was very convenient to the Solomon's shops and restaurants. The room was nice, a typical hotel room. It had a king size bed, a sofa, desk and chair, mini-fridge, and microwave. The room was advertised as a water view room, but the trees almost totally obscured the view of the water and marina. The restaurant, Issac's, had very good food and while the kitchen was slow, the wait staff were v... Read more

I stayed at this hotel over the weekend. I booked a king room that was supposed to be a room with a water view overlooking the adjacent marina. Of course these rooms come with an extra fee attached for said view. Upon check-in, the clerk related that this was the last room with a view that was available. As you can see by the pics, the only view is a sidewalk and some marsh reeds....not sure who decided this was a view with a water view....oh there was a nice view of the hotel staff puffing away... I recently visited this property for the 4th of July weekend. Everything I reserved and everything offered on the website was falsely advertised. When I arrived there was no pool access, no internet, no working television in my 'suite', and no breakfast. In addition, the suite I reserved, which advertised a "Kitchen with stove top"...was actually just a SINK. When I called to ask, I was offered a 'hot plate' because the hotel was overbooked and I couldn't be moved. The manager came up and actual... Read more

We were told we were getting a room with a view but you could barely see the water or boats through all the tree and brush. The room was OK but the toilet was so dirty it looked like it had not been cleaned for a month. I would not go back here.

Stayed overnight with friends after a concert because the location was convenient. It's a short walk to the concert venue (Calvert Marine Museum), food, and most of what the island has to offer. Staff was friendly. Hotel overall could use upgrades. Peeling wallpaper and outdated bathroom fixtures. Only one elevator working, and with reunions and weddings going on, that could become a problem. We didn't use the pool, but the pool area seemed well maintained.

We checked in on a Friday early in the day. No problem getting a great room. It was a king suite with a fantastic view of the marina. The room was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. Pillows were rectangles and plenty of sheets and blankets. The staff was wonderful. They were young, but were full of information about the area and very professional. It was walking distance to the Calvert Marine Museum and the PNC Waterside venue where we saw a concert. Would definitely staff here... Read more

The location is great, but the service at the desk was terrible. Tried to check in at 630 pm. Stood by the desk for 1/2 waiting for a room. Finally asked what was happening and was told that no rooms were available (checkin guaranteed by 3:00 pm), and the desk would call me when they were. That never happened but got a room at 8:00 pm. The shower didn't work. Manager was supposed to call me but never did.

We have stayed numerous times in the past and enjoyed those stays. Location is great and amenities are nice. However, there seems to be a turnover in staffing at the front desk - they are inexperienced and have confusion regarding how to handle customer care issues. A bewildered, apologetic smile doesn't really solve a problem. Also, the attached restaurant (Isaac's) is a separate entity and is also understaffed at the worst of times. Despite sending emails to corporate and the property manage... Read more

This must have been my fiftieth visit to this Holiday Inn since 2001. I have never been able to say they are outstanding, without peer etc. but they are reliably above average, and what sets this hotel apart is that if you are disappointed, they will do their level best to make it right. Just don't come in expecting Trump Towers and you'll be fine. I will quite gladly stay here again.

The rooms are a little humid and overall you can tell the hotel was built in the 70s but other than that the customer service and amenities at this hotel were fabulous! The rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff did a good job with turn down service and even asked me if I needed anything for my room. Very thoughtful. There is a fun tiki bar that had a band playing on Sunday-- we did not go but heard it was great! Also you are right on the water--beautiful views of the marina. Addition... Read more

We were in town for a wedding. This hotel is definitely older. However, I still found everything to be clean and in great condition. We were fortunate to have Brandon give us a room with a view of the Marina. WOW! What a beautiful view it was. It looks like there was a beautiful outdoor pool and bar. Unfortunately we were in and out the next morning. I wish we had more time to enjoy the property and the surrounding area.

The hotel is older and slightly "dated" which didn't bother me. The ants and other bugs in my room did though. The other issue I had was with the restaurant.. Went there for breakfast both days we were there. On both days no servers would come to the table to take our order. Day one I had to get up and go get someone after 25 minutes. The second day we walked out after 20 minutes. Very disappointing indeed.

This Holiday Inn used to be the go-to place for business conferences in Southern Maryland. That was nearly 30 years ago when it first opened. Since then, not much has improved. Typical steam tray food. Typical old carpet in rooms and hallways. Nice people, but overall? Just a Holiday Inn with an exceptionally picturesque location.

We stayed here for a wedding over Labor Day weekend. The location is great, next to a marina and within walking distance or a short drive to Solomons Island. The rooms we had were clean. Although one of only a few hotels in Solomons, Maryland, the Holiday Inn is a nice and quite place for overnight. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Had requested one of the full view rooms of the Marina, as my wife and I had shared years ago. Was disappointed to find the room assigned was in the North wing instead of the South wing. Was advised the instructions got misinterpreted and did not offer an apology. For this time of year, and given what is a rather unique setting, to receive four to five stars requires more attention from the desk staff. Nicely designed and landscaped, large rooms, comfortable bed. But they seem to have a management problem at this hotel. One of the bedside lamps had a burned out light bulb, and when I mentioned it to the desk clerk, they said they would take care of it -- but nothing happened by the time we left the next day. More important was the fact that the refrigerator made such a racket every time the compressor kicked in (every few minutes) that we were unable to sleep, even after putting in earplugs.... Read more
