Downtown Silver Spring is close to DC, but has a excellent hotel in Homewood Suites. Very good breakfast and excellent manager social! I loved my last stay there! My daughter was graduating - and we were very close to DC and a few clicks away from getting a uber or hailing a cab if needed!

Excellence in all areas. Front desk, arrival, cleanliness, helpfulness, immediacy of meeting requests, breakfast and checkout. Beds so comfortable I didn't want to get up! We had a very large group and they stored our luggage for us in a locked banquet room. Every move was above and beyond normal expectations. They were simply superior.

Close to the metro and some great dining options. Sergio's across the street was outstanding. The room was spacious and quiet. Complimentary breakfast was an easy way to fuel up and start the day. My one comment/complaint what the heck is this about? A well appointed bathroom, ample hot voter and fluffy towels but?!

The hotel is priced on the higher side because it is in DC but the rooms and amenities are average at best. Some items were not properly cleaned/refreshed on arrival. Had some dirty dishes in the kitchenette and the extra sheets for the sleeper sofa were dirty/soiled. Housekeeping replaced the top sheet with a mattress pad and it remained on the bed for 3 days. So even though they made the bed...not sure the linens got changed. Won't stay here again unless I am forced too...will try the doublet... Read more

Assurances we were given about room type when we made advance reservation by phone, and which were a major reason we chose this hotel, turned out upon arrival not to be correct. Overall quality of hotel is okay -- about average. It is not good value unless, perhaps, being in downtown Silver Spring is a priority.

While the staff were very pleasant (especially the valet guys), this property is not really what I consider a Homewood Suites. First of all, it's really a Hampton Inn that converted the top couple floors to Homewood Suites. While the Homewood guests do have their own lounge area, the food was terrible. Salads were ok, but anything the staff cooked was just awful. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express down the road, and I'd definitely say their breakfast was better. I will say, however, this hot... It is also close by to supermarket and shopping center. Check-in was very easy. There are two signs for Hampton or Homewood Suites desk. I had two rooms, clean and good size. We stayed here after being upgraded when our Hampton room wasn't available. Overall, it was pretty good. My main requirement is that a room be very clean, and it was. The positives: - clean - full kitchen (fridge and dishwasher) - friendly desk staff, valets - nice breakfast included with eggs, french toast, sausage, hash browns, etc. - evening "social" with light self serve meal and wine/beer Negatives: - furniture in room was a little "beat up" (scratched, dented, upholstery on sofa torn) - ... I would give a higher score, except our arrival and dealing with the valet was extremely disappointing! I asked the man at the valet station some questions to clarify our options. The hotel price and location fit what we were looking for. The hotel needs a bit of a monthly maintenance check you can tell they haven't performed. This is an old hotel, the rooms can use some updating and more attention from housekeeping to details (missing items in rooms). Evening social is snacks for 2 days and dinners the next 2 days (they need better cooks).

Family of four stayed in one room with full kitchen for four nights over the holiday. Room was over all Ok but could have been better. We could hear noise in the hallway. Maid service did not come on time -- Showed up at 4:00pm when we were already back in the room. Sofabed mattress was not so good. King size bed was very comfortable with nice bedding Free Breakfast in the Homewood Suites lodge was very good. Wifi was ok. Location is 10 minute walk to Metro station. Nearby municipal par... Great location! close to my brothers, short walk to Metro to go into DC. A lot to do within walking distance. We asked for a corner room and was not disappointed! Large room, small kitchen, we only used the fridge. Nice size bath, but why are all hotels making the sinks in the baths so tall? I am 5'2" and it hit me 3" above my waist, and then was set back so far it was hard to brush my teeth- I have noticed this at most hotels lately!! Need better pillows, room was noisy- loud heater, not... Read more

I was greeted when I stepped out the car, upon entrance of the hotel and again at the front desk. Wonderful customer service. Complimentary breakfast was delicious. It felt like home. Highly recommended.
