If you're looking for some place close to Downtown Silver Springs,to stay, this could fit the bill if you're not looking for luxury. The hotel itself is on the older side and can use a makeover. The lobby area is ok, and the rooms are too. However, the bathrooms are super small and lack counter space. The closets, safe and hallways all look dated (1960s at best). I also did not appreciate the maid putting our shoes ON the bed while she vacuumed. I guess she forgot to remove them, because that'... Read more

We were part of a ATI Tour group and found the hotel was to far out of the city, although we caught the metro it took about 3/4 hour each way. The hotel was very comfortable and modern for a 3*. We took advantage of a laundry in Hilton hotel across the road

We stayed at this property 25 years ago when it went by another name. Kudos to various owners from keeping the place up; a lot of other properties would be at the end of the line by now. Despite the modernistic lobby, you can tell it's an older hotel that's been refreshed: there are multiple elevator locations, but you still wait for them. And in the morning, the maids use the same elevators as the guests. The room sizes didn't change and are OK, but the bathrooms are smallish by today's st... Read more

I am generally a huge fan of Hilton properties, but this property is not up to the Hilton brand. Small rooms, tiny bathroom, thin walls, uninformed staff at desk, not greeted as Hilton Honors member, put on a floor with a teen school group. My room was next to 4 teen boys who thought body noises were hilarious and had a belching contest about 2AM. They also thought trying to come through the connecting door to my room would be an adventure. I love teenagers and have 2 kids of my own, but nee... Read more

Hard to get into parking area from the street. Expensive parking at the hotel. Rooms small. Beds small, expecting a queen size bed at the Hilton. Air conditioning was not working in the lobby, bar, and breakfast area my entire trip. Facilities were not up to par for a Hilton hotel.

Overall great experience, from the valet to the front desk staff. Customer service was top notch! The only small downside to the stay was the carpet wasn't vacuumed. There were huge crumbs near and around the couch area.

Air conditioner was out in Lobby the entire time I was there, Food prices are crazy high, staff not to friendly, Room to small. Shuttle service is hard to get. My room was not even cleaned one day and when it was cleaned I did not get coffee or cups replaced. I would have rather stayed at the Hampton Inn across the street at least they had a complimentary breakfast. The hotel is close to downtown but a walk to the metro.

My boys were going to a concert at the Fillmore (in walking distance) last night, so I decided to get a room for the night. I signed up for the Hhonrs when I made my reservation, so the rate was really good for the 2 room suite. When checking in the staff from the valet to the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Coletta texted me a welcome message and I was able to use that number to communicate with the front desk. The room was a little small, but perfect for our little group. The beds... Read more

We spent three nights at the Double Tree in Silver Spring to attend a family function. Here's something to think about - and it's not even related to this hotel: Make sure you ask if there are any groups staying at the hotel. Two separate tours of grade schoolers were at the hotel when we were. We had two nights of kids slamming doors, running up and down the hallway, staying up all night, a false alarm - and we were on the concierge level. We don't fault the hotel for that. The hotel itself is ... Read more

I stayed at this hotel for one week. Im sure I can give good some advice. Before I even stayed here. I read reviews and looked at pictures myself. I was scared to keep a booking here. At booking I called Hilton and the hotel its self to let them know I needed a early check in. When I arrived I was able to check in as I asked. A wheel was missing from my desk chair. Sofa was dirty, sheets and blankets for sofa were dirty, the carpet was dirty in the room and hallways, and were fixtures broken. Room service took over 1.5 hours and got our order wrong twice. And this hotel was way overpriced. We spent $1000 for 3 nights in a one bedroom suite.

The Doubletree in Silver Spring is a typical Hilton in many respects. The rooms are functional and clean, but somewhat dated. The walls must be rather thin, I could hear people in neighboring rooms clearly. Wifi worked very well. Air-conditioning also worked well and wasn't too noisy. Breakfawst was a buffet with complementary omelet if requested. I would have liked a larger selection of bread, but I guess I am somewhat spoiled by being used to Swedish hotel breakfasts. Double Tree is known for its hot chocolate cookies, and for this particular hotel that is all I can compliment, which is so unexpected for this HIlton brand hotel. The king-size bed bedrooms were very small, more like a Sleep Inn, but with a Hilton cost. The bathroom - tiny; glad I was the only one in the room. I was in two rooms and both of them met this standard. My first room had a "baby" roach in the tub and the television wouldn't work at all. I asked for a new room. All was well, e... Read more

The best thing about this property is its wonderful staff. The front desk and valet staff are friendly - and remembered us by name. We booked this hotel because it was inexpensive. We paid $89 a night. We now know why it was so cheap. The hotel, which seems to have been recently updated, is in an older building. Read the reviews, was a little concerned, After I got there had a little AC hiccup, but the staff corrected it immediately and I was on my way. Never seen one bed bug, staff super friendly, courteous and professional. Hotel is older and needs a renovation, but all things evened out in the end making my stay there excellent.

location was great. I was in silver spring for a wedding. They didn't really accommodate the bride. But I was good as a guest. The quiet hours are kind of childish and unnecessary. and they mistakenly thought it was my room making noise. they called us and sent security. that wasn't pleasant at all.

Our stay at the Doubletree was great from start to finish. The front desk person, Kaylynn, took care of us when we entered and left; she was very nice and gave us much information about the Silver Spring area and the DC Metro. The hot cookies were a bonus. The valet parking was very efficient and was timely when we needed our car. When we visit Silver Spring again we will be returning to the Doubletree.

The staff was very nice and respectable however, this hotel is over priced to be so outdated. Needs renovating bad. Furniture is from the 80s. If you stay in the hotel they charge 20.00 a day to park in the garage. The air conditioning is broke. I had to borrow a fan. The pictures on the website are deceiving. Looks good until you arrive. I travel TDY for the military and this is by far the worse Hilton Honors hotel I have stayed in.

The first point I would make about this hotel is that every employee we dealt with was pleasant and helpful. That tells me that management here makes customer service a priority. We had a double room and it was fine. When it got hot one day the engineer was there within minutes to fix the AC and everything was cool after that. Location and walkability are always important to me, so I would give this place high marks for that as well. The Metro stop is about 3 blocks away. It's an easy walk if... Read more

The experience I had at the Doubletree Hotel off Colesville Road in Silver Spring, MD was in a word, awful. It was late October of 2016 when I stayed there and the hotel DELIBERATELY did NOT turn the heat on. It was 51 degrees in my room with literally no heat. Mind you, it was not because the heater was broken. Rather, it was a hotel policy to NOT turn the heat on. Clearly this was geared toward saving money at the expense of the guests.
