Gaylord hotels are, by nature, enormous. The Gaylord National is no exception. It's a city in itself. That said, the rooms are spacious and clean. The amenities are upscale. The conference food and beverage are high quality. Most importantly, the staff is friendly and knowledgable. Not sure I'd recommend for a family vacation. For meetings; they do not disappoint.

World class facilities, luxurious, conveniently located near D.C. plenty of dining options both onsite, and in adjacent neighborhood. Cadillac Ranch would be a good stop on a weekend night. During the Christmas holidays, the hotel is beautifully adorned, and hosts "Christmas on the Potomac".

The size of the conference has grown from 1700 to 2500+, The execution of events was mostly well cone. Some serious A/V problems (which were done in-house. Lunches and breakfast were adequate. Evening events went well. I look at the hotel from an attendee, speaker, and organizer. Still room for improvement.

Hotel was huge and beautiful! Unfortunately the weather was horrible while in town but there was plenty of restaurants and shopping at the hotel. Staff was extremely kind and friendly. My 2 issues where lack of staffing for the coffee and concessions. 3 conventions and it took 45 min to get a coffee and by 830am they were out of fresh muffins and pastries and would not make more. And issue number 2 was lack of staffing in the bar and lounges in the evening. I would love to return to this ... Read more

My company booked us at this hotel because we were attending a convention here. Driving up to the hotel in the Supershuttle I was very impressed, it was enormous and beautiful! I checked in and the front desk told me to "go over there" to get my elevator to my room on the 2nd floor, and pointed in the direction behind me. I asked the clerk if they could get me some glue to fix the wheel on my suitcase that the airline broke. The girl called the maintenance dept and they told her they didn't have... Read more

Stayed at the hotel for a conference. Overall it was a good experience. There are restaurants and shops within the hotel. And odd feature was that my room had a shower only instead of a shower/tub. The area around the hotel is nice. The food is a bit expensive but standard fare for a conference hotel area.

Just got back from this hotel. Had a great conference and the rooms were nice. Though I hate when they say $15 resort fee for items that should be included with the room anyway (gym, pool, wifi). Good place for a conference, though be prepared to compete for space with multiple conferences. Excellent sports bar, largest screen I may have ever seen. The pool was dull, only indoors and quite shallow. The hotel itself looked like a mini-city (everything you need is inside) which is good because you... Read more

I went here in 2008, maybe it was 2009 and it was just beautiful. It has a beautiful atrium. We did not have a room with a view of that which is great as I heard it can get loud. But the balcony's overlook it so I think that would be nice. They had a sand sculpture contest going on at the time so it was fun to walk around and look at all of the talent. The food that is around the atrium is also yummy and they had a great light show that goes on throughout the day.

Stayed in king size suite for 2 nights. Very large hotel with nice bars and restaurants. Food was above average, and friendly staff. Customer service was good. The gym was fine, but it's lit up like an office. Need to dim the lights in there! Conference rooms are comfortable, good audio-visual capabilities and comfortable chairs.

We came to spend a night to celebrate our anniversary, thinking it would be special and luxury. I came away thinking there are some impressive big moves they made with this property, but when it comes to actual service to guests it just didn't seem worth it. I was nickel and dimed from the start when the staff at check in insisted they had to see a AAA card for my rate, and when I didn't have it on me, they would not accept my call to AAA to speak with an agent to verify my current membership. ... I'm not giving this hotel high points mainly because it was very expensive, and either the sheets and/or the mattress pad was not a natural fibre, felt like polyester. I realize polyester may clean more easily and perhaps last longer, than cotton, but they are totally uncomfortable. I kept waking up sweating, I need fabrics that breathe next to my skin. I stayed at this hotel a while back and I have to say that these people are "high" on themselves. I have no idea "who" hires these people but you would think they didn't have any education what-so-ever. You would think you would get better service, especially in the area that it is located. Very nice hotel. Clean. Nice scenery inside with live plants and water. Little stores to shop from. Located in walking distance to other shops. Super pricey to stay. Parking no longer free. Shuttles are not free. The Gaylord is a very nice and clean property. It is a great venue for conferences like the one I am attending. It is large enough for multiple concurrent events to be happening without feeling crowded. The food in the restaurants is a bit pricey, but not for a four star resort. The convention food was tasty with a wide range of options and all was labeled for gluten and dairy allergies. There are multiple bars for grabbing a drink with colleagues outside the organized events and very nice facil... Read more

I was at the above hotel for a conference. The hotel is unbelievable. The meeting rooms, conference rooms and networking rooms were all fantastic. The hotel staff was great but the valet service was the best I have ever experienced. There is a great pool, an atrium fully indoors with ponds tables benches. It is waterfront with a water taxi ( 8 each way per person, uber was 20-12)to Alexandria. From there you can take another water taxi to Washington DC. Will definitely be back with the family.
