Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Hotel is outdated and could use some modifications. Beautiful pool. Jacuzzis need serviced and maintained better. Great Tiki bar. Nice location. Dakota was amazing! Disappointed that the Smoorgeshboard was closed.

Ok..start off by saying it's not your typical 4 or the star hotel but it's amazing...the location is perfect. The pool is the biggest and nicest on the boardwalk there is a pool bar where they bring you drinks right to you in the pool. There are large rocking chairs on the front porch where you can sit and watch the ocean and boardwalk. The rooms aren't the nicest but they are clean and truthfully at this hotel you won't spend much time in your room.

We've stayed here a few times, when want to come for a cheap trip, however i'm not sure we'd be back again. This hotel needs a lot of upgrades done to it. The pool is one of the best parts about the hotel and the fact that it's affordable and right on the boardwalk.

Our car was packed up to leave on a Monday, after staying a rainy weekend, and the sun came out in the afternoon. Decided to stay another night and wanted a smoking room, on the boardwalk, ocean front near the Amusement park end. Walk in, and found everything we wanted. Room was small and a little outdated, but had ocean front view on the boardwalk, jetted tub, clean linens, fridge and heat and ac, and was smoker friendly. Rate was very reasonable. Desk staff super friendly and helpful. Good par... Read more

Hotel does need some renovations. Raining almost all weekend we were there and the hallway ceiling (we were on the 5th floor) was leaking some and it seems they were going into rooms looking for leaks. It is a smoking hotel well I think most of it because we had an ash try in the room and hallway smelled like smoke. There were some cracks in the wall and the ac/heater had some black stuff in the vents so we didn't bother turning it on because of my allergies. It was on the boardwalk so it was c... Read more

Just left OC and stayed at the Plim for the 1st time and honestly I will probably never stay anywhere else. I loved it there!! The prices are great for the location right on the boardwalk. Small rooms but nicely updated and clean with comfortable beds!! Not to mention the huge pool and hot tubs with the Caribbean pool bar serving food and drinks pool side right at our hotel. They also have a big porch with chairs for ppl watching and a coffee n smoothie bar right on the front porch of the hotel... Read more

I knew the hotel was older but had been remodeled, and price was decent for the area. Very small room but pretty clean. Needed more hooks for hanging towels. Shelf in bathroom provided much needed storage for bath items but left barely any clearance above sink to wash face or brush teach! Had fridge in room and 24 hour coffee in lobby. Beds were comfortable but only double size. Hotel right on Boardwalk for easy access. Not a lot of on sight parking but plenty in a free overflow lot a couple b... Read more

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!! We checked in Pre Memorial Day for a long weekend. My friend always stays here when she goes. I thought it might be worth a stay. We stayed in a double double room. Very clean, AC worked great, plenty of towels. Not the most undated hotel on the boards, but who spends a lot of time in the room at the beach? Not us! I loved the Tiki Bar! And the Coffee Bar in the morning is wonderful! The rockers made the stay even more pleasant! Plus it was mere steps fro... Read more

So we've been staying at the Plim Plaza multiple times per summer for the last 12 years. That's not saying much though. If it weren't for the LOCATION and the pool/bar, I would have given the hotel a 1 star. The hotel: The location is the best part about this place. Parking on site is great when you can find a spot. But even the extra lots aren't that far from the hotel. The grounds are only up kept to a point. They focus on large items, but not on details. The hallways are ridiculously tight a... Read more

It is right on the board walk so I didn't have to drive anywhere while I was there. The pool grill was good; Great Service. The coffee place in the front has Great drinks and their parrot was cool. Only downside is the rooms are small and they have a lot of flys. Overall great hotel.

I went for the Airshow weekend and wanted something on the boardwalk. This was the cheapest I found and I can see why. The room was small, the bathroom was tiny, hardly any water pressure to the shower, toilet moved side to side, wires hanging from ceiling, air conditioner looked like it went through a war and barely blew cold air. I would not stay here again, I wish I read more reviews before I wasted almost $500 for two nights.

I am sure back in the day PP was a great place, but now it is run down, smelly, and not well maintained. Our fist room reeked of something - not sure what - they sent up a maid with some air spray. The second room they sent us to was shabbier but at least it did not smell as bad. There was some vomit on the floor by the vending machine. The bathroom was in terrible shape and there was mildew. I simply would not recommend the place.

The reviews on here have been so mixed over the years I have never stayed. I have young children and have heard about rowdy crowds and dirty rooms. I experienced none of this. The newly remodeled rooms was very nice and affordable (for OC) especially considering the pool, food and drink service, and location on Boardwalk. The staff was friendly and helpful. I recommend to anyone on the fence, as I was. I plan to visit again soon!

It is unfortunate that this hotel considers their guests as necessary evils. I paid $200 a night for a room with 2 double beds and I consider myself luck it had a bathroom. Don't bring dinner into the room because there is no table or chairs. That is what the beds are for. I had a family of 4 and it was horrible. I didn't say anything cause I'm never going back. Free coffee in the lobby but the regular coffee maker was broken. Guess no one thought to buy a backup. Desk clerk said I have to ... Read more

Our go to when coming to OC. Best hotel manager we ever met, Christina! Pool bar is so convenient and always has live music. Rooms have been remodeled and are nice! Large flat screen tvs and they just added free ice cream in the lobby! Great location and easy beach access

This was our first time staying here and probably our last. When we got there we were confused on where to go to check in. The guy said we couldn't sit in the car and not park but the parking lot was 2 blocks away. I finally got my family checked in and the front desk was ok not overly friendly but not grumpy. They have a cool blue and gold macaw bird there in the lobby. We were on the 4th floor. When we got off the elevator all I could think was OMG this hotel is from the 70's! Our room ... Read more

We booked 2 nights, 3 days at the Plim Plaza on recommendations from friends. We were very pleased with our room/rates. We knew the hotel was some what "out dated" but to our surprise we were perfectly OK with everything. Our room was clean, the front desk staff was friendly and everyone around was happy. This was an excellent location. The pool/bar area was excellent. We enjoyed food and drinks at the pool bar. We will definitely be returning.

Loved our room. Stayed for 4 days weather good pool was nice. Pleastly surprised to see they had machinery to help people with disabilities to get into the pool and hot tubs.everything in our room was new. When we walked in it smelled like new mattress. There was a verity of bands and music played. The restaurant down below was good food and friendly staff. Would stay again.

My husband booked this three day trip- not telling me where we were going. To my absolute joy it was Plim! I had visited here before- it's crystal blue pool, dozens and dozens of lounge chairs, live music daily to fit the mood (chill day, hotter at night)... And of course... The Parrot. The waitress and bartenders were attentive ,and psychic when I couldn't figure out what I wanted to drink. The cleaning staff were courteous and respectful- when we said "do not disturb" we didn't get disturbed... Read more

We stayed two nights at Plim Plaza. We got the last available room. It was a smoking room. The room didn't smell like smoke which was a pleasant surprise. The room was small, too small for 4 people, but we didn't spend much time in the room. The room was clean and there wasn't too much noise. The staff is also very friendly. You can't beat the location! There is a nice little coffee shop on their deck. They really don't have a breakfast, some fresh fruit. We have stayed at nicer places, but for t... Read more

This may not be the fanciest hotel but we enjoy staying at the Plim. It's close to everything. Plim has great outdoor decks and an outdoor pool that the kids would love. Plim is in the process of renovating their rooms which compared to two years ago were outdated. I don't want to stay anywhere but the Plim.

I wanted to have a great birthday for my husband, the only hotel available was this so I booked it, so sorry. Never thought it would be dump on the boardwalk, does the city monitor these places (apparently not) I booked it for 2 night at $200.00 per night , of course I could not stay the second night because I am not use to such. It bothered me that they would not return my money, but I do intend to contact the owner or ceo. Don't be fooled nothing like the picture and if dumps please you have... Read more

We booked this hotel for a last Minute long weekend getaway to the beach. Hotel has an excellent location right on the boardwalk. Rooms a little small but just what you would expect with older hotel. Parking could be better. Had to park over a block away in a separate lot for the hotel due to the very limited parking at the hotel itself. Ice cream and coffee available in the family style lobby. Love the parrot.

This was a last minute reservation. We picked this property because of the quick access to the boardwalk and the price. Pros: Hotel was easy to find. Check in and check out was easy. Easy access to boardwalk. Pool on site and large bar. Yes, the parking lot is a block away, but this is normal as you move closer to the pier. The parking is free and there was plenty of spaces in the overflow. This hotel offers an array of amenities. Dispensers in the bathroom for hand soap, shampoo, and body ... Read more

My 20 something daughters stayed here recently. I booked it for them because they wanted to stay cheap in OC in July- well you get what you pay for. The only things they liked were free soft serve ice cream and bird in the lobby. Being on the boardwalk was a plus, but be aware there is no parking here, you must go 2 blocks away to park. Beware, this place is a dump and customer service is really bad. The rooms are small and have a foul odor and the wi-fi service is iffy, at best. You can find a much nicer place for about the same price.

This place has a ton of potential. The location is fantastic, right on the boards with a porch. The lobby is clean and cool, has free ice cream and coffee. The pool/bar area is nice, although it was like bathwater with the 92 degree weather. They do need to enforce the no smoking policy better though. Lots of smokers right beside a pool is not a good thing. The hallways are hot, narrow, smokey, maze-like and the floors are uneven. Now for the room. We were apparently in a smoking room, b...
