All first floor rooms are bad. On the left side there is another building 8 feet away so very diifficut to see ocean, impossible on first floor unless you are ocean front, even then you have 8 foot high steel bars (2 sets) to look thru. Th maid service was very late in the day, after 5pm and had to be asked for several times. The rooms are ok, been refurbished in past few years but very basic and not really comfortable. Parking is a challenge as the garage is tight and smalll spaces as well... Read more

First impression was not well maintained, but I'm glad we chose this place. Booked a room facing the ocean, which had a small but nice balcony overlooking the boardwalk. The hotel is at the north end of the boardwalk, so it was quieter than down by the more commercial section. Staff was pleasant. The room was large, with microwave and refridge. Bathroom was large and clean. Non smoking, which we were happy about.

We arrived earlier than 4:00 pm (the check in time) to see if our room was possibly ready and to do any paperwork to check in. The lady at the front desk was very standoffish and rude. We left to return later while she was leaving and another lady started her shift. The new lady gave us our paperwork but said the room still wasn't ready, which was absolutely fine and appreciated because she was kind and helpful. The room and everything in it seemed fine, clean, spacious when we got in. Our fir... Read more

Nice big room on the boardwalk. Very convenient . Room was clean and comfortable. Would stay here again. Great location for walking to most beach attractions. Bring your beach chairs and enjoy. There is no more smoking directly on the beach which was great for me.

Hotel was exceptionally perfect for family vacation. View of the ocean front was remarkably fantastic. Hotel was a perfect location with the view of the ocean and boardwalk. Room was very spacious for 4 adults.

Our family stayed at the Crystal Beach hotel for a long weekend over Memorial Day. The positives: 1) the hotel is directly on the boardwalk and ocean front rooms have a lovely view, 2)there is a pool, 3)parking was available for one vehicle per room, 4)it is within walking distance to many restaurants and shops, and 5)the room was large with a full size coffee maker and kitchenette with microwave. On the negative end: 1)the hotel has a run down and worn out appearance. We had a large industri... Read more

Stayed here Memorial Day Weekend 2016, we had a king room with jacuzzi, non-ocean view. The room was very clean, well maintained, and the bed was very comfortable. Our room had a mini fridge, small kitchen sink, and a microwave. This hotel IS PRIME LOCATION on the Boardwalk at 25th street, far enough away from the beach bars to not hear a thing, but close enough to walk to them. Also, perfect walking distance to Jolly Roger Amusement for those with kids. Their pool was on the boardwalk, and was ... Read more

One of the better experiences I've had in some time. We mistakenly arrived a day early for vacation. Unfortunately the hotel was booked. The gentleman at the desk (Kevin or Keith?) was extremely accomodating in making his best attempt to call around and find us a room for the evening. I did eventually have success in finding a room elsewhere to save us the hassle of driving back to PA only to make the drive again the next day. The room was spacious and very clean. We had use of a mini fridge, ... Read more

We stayed here during the Air show this past weekend so that might give you an idea of the price that we paid. We arrived early since we had other things that we wanted to do and decided to check to see if our room was available. We walked in and went to the lobby. While I was waiting for the lady behind the counter to finish up, my youngest asked if there was a bathroom that he could use and her response was just rude but after she found out that I was a registered guest her tone changed and... SHAME on YOU(Crystal Beach Hotel) for trying to CHARGE.. patrons for smoking. We have pictures/videos of all the cigarette urns sitting right outside your doors.Front door main entrance (going up the steps), handicap entrance(cigarette tower), and outside by the pool(cigarette urn). Not to mention, employees that work the front desk are out their smoking quite often.

We over all could have had a better experience. The woman who was at the front desk (Stevie) was one of the most unfriendly and rude women I have ever dealt with when it comes to customer service. She how ever was the only rude one. Everyone else was extremely pleasant and professional. Especially Kevin. He should be the manager. He totally gets what customer service is. He understands that one bad apple reflects on the rest of the staff. He went above and beyond to make up for Stevie's attitude... Read more

The hotel is ok. We had a nice size room and ocean view. The facility needs some minor attention to lighting fixtures and missing bathtub drain heads. The housekeeping staff was late into the afternoon to make up our room. This proved to be somewhat inconvenient. Upon alerting the front desk after two days, the issue was rectified. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The hotel is a short walk along the boardwalk from a Café for breakfast or lunch. The beach is beautiful. Lots of kite... Read more

I stayed at Crystal Beach twice - both off season. The first was in the fall and was a pretty decent stay. For the money, you get the basic necessities of a clean room. We had an oceanfront view. Not too much more to this hotel, other than some vending machines on floor one and the fact that rooms are enclosed and you enter on the inside. The second time I stayed was in the spring of this year and that was a nightmare. I will be fair and say that we booked through Expedia. FYI - An ocean ... Read more

The gentlemen and I use that term loosely named Chase Sifford, who is a hotel employee made a sexually explicit comment about my wife to me not knowing that it was my wife! I was so shocked that someone would speak that way about a women to a guest or to anyone for that matter! I was with my wife and kids and we were heading out the door to head home to New Jersey so I never confronted him about his inappropriate comment. I looked around for other staff to bring this to their attention and after... Read more

I booked a room with a ocean view. I was given a room on the first floor overlooking the pool. I don't understand why this hotel would call it a ocean view when actually its was a pool view. However, I was charged ocean view price. When booking this hotel make sure you are getting what you paid for!!!

Nice hotel on the boardwalk and steps from the beach. Close enough to everything yet far enough from the night life. The room was a good size, the ocean view was breathtaking. The parking was easy. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.

The good: 1. Parking - ample enough that we didn't have to look for a space elsewhere. 2. View - Oceanfront nice view. Probably best from the 3rd floor on up. The bad: 1. Private balcony - deceptive advertising. Not private at all. Sitting on the sofa in our room I clearly made eye contact with my neighbor next door. There is no privacy when you are outside on it either. Separation from adjacent rooms is max 4 feet. In the past years at other hotel we always enjoyed relaxing on the balcony... Read more

We brought our son down to OC for the day for his 7th birthday. When we finally got to the Hotel at 7pm we were greeted by desk clerk Kevin. I told him we were checking in, and my name. He said it was in my wife's name, and he needed to speak to her. I said she is coming with the kids. We had prepaid through Expedia, and I went ahead, and filled out the paperwork. He was very rude, and said that my wife had to sign it. We didn't see the point, but she signed it anyway over my name. He then yelle... Read more

My husband, toddler and I chose this hotel for a quick trip to the beach. The location is great, being right on the board walk, and across from the beach. We stayed in a corner room on the 5th floor and were not disappointed. We had the king bed with jacuzzi tub, and there was room to set up the pack and play for the toddler. I did notice that they put us next to other families with small children (which we don't mind at all), and we had no issues with noise from neighbors or any noise from outs... Read more

Rooms are nice size. Good location, on the boardwalk but at the quiet end. Pool is a nice size but it was always packed. Staff was probably the best part of the stay. Very friendly and professional. The drawback was parking. You can get a room for 6 but only for 1 car. Just make sure it's a smaller car. Very tight. All in all, was a nice place.

This place is absolute disgusting. There was black mold on ceiling where the shower was, there were flies everywhere in the room and also on the pull out couch looked like it had feces on it. We stayed one night and left the next. There were also burns on table and what looked like a knife cut in the chair. The women at the front desk was so incredibly rude to not only our group but to many others that we witnessed. I have never written a review about anything but this is one place I will never ... Perfect location . Walking distance to the beach. This is what I desired the most. Pool was small but adequate for the stay. Staff was great and room cleanliness was on par. Parking garage was good and next to the hotel. The hotel is not to close to the busy boardwalk but close to the Tran pick up. So you will have good peaceful night. I will definitely book again next year.

Best part of this Hotel is the location right on the Boardwalk 25th St. We were in a partial Ocean view room., we could only see the ocean from the Balcony, which looks to be true of every partial Ocean view at this Hotel. We decided only a few days before we went away and booked this hotel online after reading existing reviews. We stayed Sunday through Thursday the week before Labor Day (Maryland schools actually open this week in most counties so this week is borderline offseason with reduced lifeguards on the beaches, etc.). Our daughter is in a wheelchair, the hotel was completely accessible for us. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Situated right on the boardwalk. Parking wasn't a problem even though we have a van that opens up for a wheelchair. Room was nice and clean. The only downfall was that we were on the main floor facing the pool (which we requested), but there were bars that made me feel like I was in prison while sitting out on the patio.

My sister & I took our annual trip to Ocean City, MD. We stayed at our favorite hotel. The Crystal Beach Hotel. It is on the quiet end of the boardwalk. Everything was great except the biting flies that were blown in from the hurricane. The weather was warm & so was the water in the ocean. Stevie & Nikki at the front desk are wonderful & treat us like family since we stay there year after year. We even saw a couple we met last year & had a nice visit with them.

We left the rooms everyday at 8:00am,so there is No call to have waited until 3:00 or 4:00 to have the rooms clean.
