The receptionist name VALARIE was very helpful and pleasant. She try her best to help us resolve our problem. We reserve 2 suites but when we arrive they only had 1 available. She made calls trying to see what was the problem but to no avail their was not another suite available. So we ended up getting a regular room at the going rate with no discount ,even though it was our fault that 2 suites was available that we had reserve.

The lady at desk was nice. That was about it. Building had fresh paint look on outside, that was it.10/16/15 Room 525 floor edges dirty, lamp shade stained, blankets stained. Wall of tub, fiberglass, had hole in it as if it had been punched.. Which is what I wanted to do after staying there. Collar on bedroom door knob coming off.The room was moldy and old and look nothing like the pretty blue rooms in pictures online. I can live with old but not unkempt and moldy. After my 1st night I woke up c... Read more

I stayed at this hotel the first week of September 2015 for 4 nights. The rooms were fairly clean. There was part of a condom wrapper on the floor between the beds when we arrived and only saw 4 or 5 ants in the bathroom. Otherwise it was clean. Our room was not serviced during our stay, but someone came by our door one morning and asked if we needed any toilet paper or anything. I liked that they had free beach chairs to use even if one that we got was broken. For only $64 a night, I thought ... Read more

We had a good time , the employee's were all friendly and helpful as much as they could be, we did stay there last year as well and enjoyed our stay than as well. Loved it seeing it was only one block from the beach. it was noisy outside but quiet when we were in the room,

They say you get what you pay for! This booking was a good deal but that was about the only thing good about it. The room was not very clean, nor was the tub which was full of sand. There were ants in the bathroom & the phone didn't work. Fortunately the bed linens actually were very clean as were the bath towels. The employees were very helpful. I had to sign a paper agreeing to no partying and I may have been the only one in the place who wasn't partying until 2 am. Maybe I was the only o... Read more

The "suites" have a balcony that faces the street. The sliding glass door didn't shut well enough to block out noise. Or maybe it was the thinness of the glass. It sounded like we were sleeping on the side walk. Before I made the reservation, I asked if they had linens for the pull out couch and was assured they did. Yet, when we arrived, I had to request for the linens. They were brought with a thin blanket. When I asked about pillows, I was told to use the pillows in the bedroom, and that I wa... Read more

Stayed 4 nights.. Was very quiet and clean, staff was very friendly. Being right by the highway you don't hear much traffic unless it's a fire truck running sirens. Hotel has a restaurant attached to it (crab cake factory) would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the Coastal Palms on June 18-20, 2016. Room was satisfactory and the beach was within walking distance which was good!! Our view from our balcony was great!! There were a few things that we didn't like about our stay and that is, the fact that we had to go all the way down to the ground floor and request ice at the front desk when our room was on the 5th floor. We also requested towels that Saturday morning twice! We were told that they would bring them but we ended up waiting and ... Read more

So this hotel served its purpose. There was 4 of us. The room had 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. The room had a bacony. Online it said oceanview. It was a partial ocean view but mostly the bacony overlooked the parking lot. Hotel was close to the beach. Also close to stores such as Wawa (we went there for everything), CVS, Food Lion, 7-Eleven, etc. There was a mini fridge and a coffee maker but no counter space. Staff was very friendly. I was told there was a game room and fitness room but never w... Read more

Location of the hotel was great for the price, the beach is about a 2 minute walk from your room. The hotel wasn't anything special, the bathroom was a bit small but other than that no complaints about the room. Shortly after midnight the fire alarms went off and we were all evacuated while the fire department checked the hotel, nobody told us anything while we waited outside until we overheard one of the guests ask a fireman and the fireman said it was all clear. When i complained to the front ... Read more

We booked last minute so this is why we stayed here. It's a great location being close to the beach and right across the street and/or next to convenient restaurants, CVS, Greene Turtle, etc. We got a room with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed which is good for us 3 guys. The hotel and "amenities" are definitely aged, but the staff does the best with what they have. The room was 300 per night which is pricey, but we couldn't find anything cheaper last minute. Our room did have an ocean view and ... Read more

What a Gem!! I planned last weekends trip totally last minute through hotels.com. We arrived late which wasn't a problem and were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. The room was a great size (double queens, couch and dining table) for 2 people. The balcony was a great size and with a turn of the chair, you are facing the ocean. Parking was good with 3 entrances off Coastal Highway. Great location with direct path to the beach and a couple blocks to the Northside Park. Great stay, ... Read more

Outside of hotel looks questionable but we were pleasantly surprised when we entered. Rooms were cleaner than expected. Sofa bed did not come with sheets but staff quickly delivered them. Close to convenience store and market. Good seafood restaurant downstairs. Unimpressed by the pool, but who cares with the ocean near by. Will stay here again for another girls trip.

The inn was located close to the bus pick ups and it was near the local hot spots! There was plenty of space in our room. I would suggest to bring your own pillows/sheets for pull out couch. The pool was clean here.

Pros and Cons to this property. The pros being a great price and very clean rooms. The cons, no view to speak of, ice only available at the front desk and the pool was gross! White film, bugs and debris floating in the corners! Check in was fine but busy and only one person at desk. He was extremely nice and helpful and remained calm even through the chaos!

Booked very last minute, have never been to OC and given the reviews plus the high nightly prices at the other preferred hotels we decided to try this one out so here's my feedback: Location: great one block from beach and away from the crowds at the boardwalk (20 mins by car). Hotel: they have various properties here in OC which "seem" better than this one but regardless this hotel is good for small stays (one or two nights). Our room was decently clean. Had a mini fridge, microwave and coff... Read more

My wife and I are staying at the Coastal Palms in a large room two blocks from the ocean. The room has two queen beds that are ok, but could use an upgrade. Squeaking box springs and sheets don't fit the mattress. Clean bathroom with a comfort height toilet which I really appreciate along with a clean room. Facility is nice with free parking and we would do a short stay in the future.

To our surprise, this hotel is SMOKE FREE. I mean smoke-free. There is a $250 fine for smoking on balconies or property. IT WAS NEVER STATED ON WEBSITE or when we booked reservation. I found out at check in; had little sign posted on desk. For the price; you are better off renting a private condo closer to beach. This was last minute decision for just 2 nights; we will definately go back to renting condos. You wont get much ocean view from the rooms; and the elevator is outdated; so don't... Read more

The location was great-only one street to cross to get to the beach. The size of the room was nice-looked clean. However, the bedding was stained. The towels were all stained. Our bedding wasn't changed once during our 5 day stay until I finally requested it day 4. Room wasn't vacuumed once. Pool was very cloudy and small with no towels to use. They do allow you to use their beach chairs which was nice. You can see the ice show at the main hotel but you're not allowed to use any other amenities... Read more

Hotel is decent. Our room looked nice but was lacking a few things. First the bad. We were in a suite right next to the road which was the biggest issue. The road noise was horrendous. I sleep with a fan near my head for white noise and we still woke up throughout the night due to the various loud vehicles including trucks, motorcycles and, lucky for us, the trash truck in the morning. Our room was evidently too far from the wifi signal so we had no wifi. There were hand towels and bath to... Read more

This two-building property is wonderfully located just a block from the beach, without a major highway to cross. Parking is tight, but we never had a problem finding a spot. The room seemed to be newly renovated, nice paint job and modern looking furniture. The bathroom has a new sink, but the shower curtain rod was disgustingly rusty. Nice balcony overlooking the parking lot and a view of the ocean in the near distance. The balcony does not offer much in the way of privacy as your neighbor is r... Read more

Plus side: great location, decent price, extremely clean mattresses that didn't sag (on the for side), roomy. Negative side: pool not very big or clean, elevator made horrible noises usually when coming down around the 3rd floor (no inspection certification posted), you can only get vouchers if you make reservation online, bathroom could use updating.

Room was clean but worn ,pull out sofa was pretty beat up , and getting a extra pillow was out of the question ! The best thing about this place is the beach access, the beach is a very short walk ,closer than some of the beach front properties I've stayed at ! Place is okay for a short ,reasonably priced stay .

We stayed for a long weekend on a last minute vacation plan to visit family. The pictures make this look nicer than it is. The pool was overcrowded and cramped and the room was circa 1972 Howard Johnson motel like. Nothing was updated, the small fridge was so caked with ice that you couldn't even fit things in it. The tub looked like it was calked about 40 times, and there was rust on the shower curtain bar. The balcony was nice, and the walk to the beach is very convenient. Only book if... Read more

Close to beach, chairs provided by hotel. Conveniently located to restaurants and attractions. Paid for ocean view room and was given a corner room with a partial balcony that was too hot to sit out on because of air conditioner output. Elevator made terrible sound on third floor going down and patio door lock broke on our first night. Staff was exceptionally helpful and polite. Nice hotel, clean, but rather pricey for what was provided.

I was concerned after reading the reviews but couldn't cancel without a penalty. I was pleased with room. It was very spacious. As other people said, it's a great location. Very close to the beach. The restaurant connected to the hotel was very convenient. The bus stop is near by which you can ride all day for $3 which we took to the boardwalk. It was a good experience and would stay there again.

We had a suite on the 5th floor. The unit was dated, stains on the couches, no towels at check-in. The staff was friendly. Pool cloudy, probably due to all the beach goers rinsing off in it. Very difficult to find a luggage cart. Considering what we paid, I probably would not return.

The main living area isn't all too bad, but the bathrooms will make your skin crawl. The entire place on a whole is kinda dirty, including the elevator. The outdoor pool is ok, the fact that it has chlorine saves your mindset when you go swimming. Service here is friendly, my only complaint is that the building in general needs a huge scrub down. Also, there are no bathroom mats, and when we asked for one, they told us to simply use the towels and wash cloths provided as a mat. If it was for a c... Read more
