We stayed here for 4 nights to see the sites in DC. We had a king room, in the renovated section of the hotel. We asked for an upgrade as we were there celebrating a birthday. We got a free upgrade and vouchers for 2 people for 4 breakfast buffets. The rooms were clean, the beds were very comfortable and we had plenty of nice big fluffy pillows. The buffet breakfast was hot and fresh. They have a nice indoor pool and hot tub. The staff was friendly. I will stay here again.

The room was beautiful - a nice sitting room, small kitchen and very comfortable bed. All was updated and arranged for maximum usage, plus it had my favorite thing - a separate shower and tub. A few nice restaurants were nearby which the front desk graciously pointed out. The location, hotel entrance and exit were very convenient. I would gladly stay there again.

There was good news and bad news with our weekend stay. First the good: The staff is very friendly and helpful. They had knowledge of the area and it's attractions. The rooms were clean and larger than expected. The shower was great with never ending hot water. The location of the hotel is perfect for getting around the DC metro area. Right off a highway, easy to find. The wifi is fast and free. The food at breakfast was better then normally found in comparable places. Now the bad: The... Read more

i was exhausted traveler who was looking for a clean room and a bed. I think that the hotel staff is very friendly. The decor of the hotel is new and inviting. I had a room with two queen beds. I had spent the day moving and cleaning so I was very tired by the time I reached this hotel at about 9 pm. Happy to see my room and a bed. I went to bathe and discovered that the tub was very close to the tub other than that I slept well. Hotel was quiet. Room was on the 6th floor. The next morning, I en... Read more

The rooms are big and typical holiday inn budget hotel. However, the breakfast was terrible! The sausage is not tasty, the eggs are artificial and the food are cold even if they were in a chaffing dish! i just ate cereals so my breakfast stub won't be wasted.

Nice big king sized bed which is comfy but had a dip in it, presumably its worn out from other people sleeping on that particular side, no problem because I'm small and i just moved over to the nicer side as it was just me. The pillows were good although one of the pillowcases stunk really badly and one of them had a yellow stain - gross. I slept okay - not the best. The walls seem to be on the 'thin' side and I can hear other people flushing their toilets! Also room 340 was overlooking a fat lo... Read more

Checked in on Saturday afternoon was quick and easy. Staff was very nice. King room was very roomy with nice chairs. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Didn't use the restaurant or pool so no comment on those items. Very convenient location right off Route 270.

Our room was nicely sized on the top floor. But beware, the walls are paper thin! Also there's a speed trap camera on Christopher Avenue, behind the hotel (See Gaithersburg Police Department Safe Speed Program), so it's pretty easy to get a ticket when you make a right out of the hotel onto 355, and go down Christopher to loop around to 124.

Everything was good, except having had to call for extra bath towels because the cleaning people decided to only leave one towel for four of us who stayed there. It is very clean except there was some stain on one bed sheet that we had to use for three nights. Overall , this is a better one compared to other Holiday Inns that I have stayed.

Ok, maybe we should not have asked for a room on the lobby level. Think the North Tower might have been ok. But our room definitely needed some work. We had no hair dryer, no ironing board, no coffee maker, no list of TV stations, a clock/alarm that did not work, and a mini frig that froze our soda rather than chilled it. On a positive note, the hotel staff did bring the items I requested In a timely fashion once I went to the front desk and asked for them. When they had not made up our room by ... Read more

They came in my room when I was not there and stole my bag with a new purse inside. Roger from housekeeping says it's not the hotels responsibility how can it not be your responsibility if my things were locked away in my room. I'm in the middle of a lawsuit now. DO NOT STAY HERE THEY ARE LIARS AND THIEVES.

We stayed in this hotel as part of a school trip. I was very happy with it as far as suiting our needs with one exception. There were no vending/ice machines on the floors. We asked a hotel staff member and she suggested we use the staff lounge. They did have an extremely small convenience store near the front desk, but it was not "convenient" for just running down the hall for a cold drink and/or ice. The breakfast buffet was great, but it may have been part of our trip. I am not sure if it wa... Read more

Stayed here because of conference contract. Front desk was exceptionally friendly and pleasant. House keeper and restaurant staff were very polite and attentive. Breakfast was very good. Room was very spacious and room amenities were fine. Bed was very comfortable and AC was quiet. Bathroom was very spacious as I happened to have handicap accessible bathroom. It looks like the building is a bit old but they put a lot of effort to remodel. Bathroom tub drain was heavily clogged but I only s... Read more

If this what a half-decent HI is like, how sad for the brand. Small, HOT,low drop ceilinged lobby (if you want to call it a lobby). A small, crappy restaurant and bar with HORRENDOUS breakfast service. OMG, several customers just walked out. So understaffed. Evening drink service was better. No other restaurants within walking distance. Rooms were small. The bed had a huge black hair in it when I pulled back the sheets (I have a short blonde crew cut). Exterior windows filthy. I was greeted immediately by a new employee, Shuva B., whom I might add could teach some veteran customer service staff I have met in my extensive travel a thing or two. She was professional, helpful and with the help of Barack S. made certain to make my stay memorable. Needless to say if I ever find myself back in Gaithersburg I will make this my hotel.

This hotel has the basics and it is clean. The staff is nice but very slow to respond to request. The goal of the hotel seems to offer the bare minimum and if you ask for more maybe a tad bit extra. I went to a catered banquet. The setting was incomplete (missing forks, bread plates, etc. which would have been okay if you could find someone to do anything about it) The servers didn't clear the tables between courses and we sat with dirty dishes on all the tables while we are with the same used ... The hotel is a perfect place to stop from a vacation to get reenergized. The front desk were very pleasant and happy to help you check-in. The rooms are clean and updated. The elevators are very quick to get you to the floor you need to be on. Amazinly the restaurant that is on site was very good and the servers quick. We had dinner and breakfast there. The pool was very nice and the kids enjoyed it to relax prior to bed and a 10 hr drive that they just had. Great place to stay

We were told that this property had been "RECENTLY" updated. Bathroom had dirty grout and debris in all corners. Chair in room had multiple stains. We found an uneaten apple under the ottoman. Mold-like stuff in A/C unit. On the positive side, the pillow offerings were fantastic. Best sleep I have had in a long time. Staff was accommodating and always helpful!

This is a nice hotel, not a typical Holiday Inn. Efficient and helpful staff, clean rooms, no musty smell, took the breakfast package since I have no status with IHG. Good thing we brought water from the road. Overall good value for the area it is in.

We arrived on Friday afternoon, Sept 16, 2016. The exterior of the hotel looks nice and it is centrally located in busy Gaithersburg. The hotel is OLD with low ceilings and a dark brown decor. We looked at 4 rooms and each had a problem. We read were this property had been "RECENTLY" updated but the four rooms we seen were small and dated with mismatched refrig/microwave We decided this was not were we wanted to spend our weekend and left. Okder property not updated. Seems tired, drab. Pool is closed in the middle of the day on weekdays when business travelers are there. The spa was broken. CAVEAT - The even numbered rooms on the first floor have no cellular coverage, a fact not disclosed at check-in. No ice machine on the first floor. Restaurant was decent, but limited hours. I think there are better options at the same price point.

The staff at this hotel are top notch! I stay here once a month on business and they never disappoint. I had one visit where they had given me a room in the south building and unfortunately had a large group of school children come in. I asked to be moved and they actually moved all of my baggage for me to the north ( and more quiet) building. I now put that in my preferences when I book - that I get a north tower room. That building has the newest rooms and they are beautiful and large. Once a... Read more

I left this hotel with bug bites ALL OVER my left arm and hand, right arm and back. I sent the hotel NUMEROUS emails WITH PICTURES ,only to never hear back WHAT was found in room 441. I have big open holes on my arms and hands. I am so disgusted with never receiving a call back from management. I did not pay for this room,my company did. Ok, it's HI, but really. One of the beds was so close to the wall that I had to turn sideways to get into the bathroom. And to add insult to injury, the bathroom light switch was BEHIND THE DOOR. To be fair, the free breakfast was really quite nice--scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage links, pancakes, fruit, etc. And there is a shuttle that will drop you at Shady Grove Metro, and pick you up. So if you don't mind the room layout weirdness, it's probably a decent value.

We were really impressed with this hotel. Stayed in the North Tower. The room (except of bathroom tubs and walls) were renovated nicely, were clean, comfortable and quiet. The front desk managers were very nice and accommodating to our needs. As platinum members we were offered free breakfast (which was good too). We didn't use but saw the pool and Jacuzzi and it looked nice. We'll definitely stay here again.

Bed was very comfy. Tons of electrical outlets. Decent work desk and adjustable chair. Clean workout room with well-maintained equipment. Strong shower. Absolutely worth the price. I've paid more to stay at worse. Restaurant staff was superbly helpful and understanding. Only oddity - the toilet was unusually close to the tub / far from the toilet paper. Needed to stretch to get TP.
