The hotel has very friendly staff and an interesting set up, with interior courtyard rooms looking towards a indoor pool. I mentioned that I felt like I was in Disney. The rooms could use some updating but are kept clean and the beds are very comftorable. Wish there was a free breakfast like the holiday inn I stayed at last night which cost less.

The hotel is a convenient location to downtown Frederick (only about an 8 min drive) and to all the major highways. Nice bar/grille in the hotel with pretty good happy hour deals. Also has indoor pool area that reminds me of something I would see at a Disney world hotel.

We visited the Holiday Inn Frederick on May 7 2016. We paid $106.82 (Government Rate) for a one King bed nonsmoking room. Upon arrival we found a long line at the check in desk. The line went clear to the entry door. After waiting 20 minutes in line that did not seem to move we went to the bar in hopes of the line decreasing. After an hour we were informed the line was gone and we could now check in. During check in we were informed our room was not ready, it would be another 30 minutes!... Read more

Usually, I stay at this hotel when traveling for business in the area. However, over the course of the past two years you can tell that they have not reinvested in the hotel. On the last two days of my stay they failed to clean the room. I do get the breakfast buffet and the staff and food at breakfast are awesome. Having to park around the back of the building is sketchy, especially when other guest are smoking right in front of the doors. I became ill from the smoking when I came back from wor... Read more

We have stayed at this lackluster hotel several times when we are in Frederick to visit my mother-in-law. Usually we get a very good rate because we are there over the holidays. This time we had to pay more than $115 a night. Ouch. We arrived on a Saturday night. When I turned down the bed, it was immediately apparent that the sheets were soiled with an abundance of bodily fluids. I called the front desk. Jesse sent housekeeping. A woman arrived and handed me sheets - no pillow cases - and then ... Read more

I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Fredrick, Md during Memorial Day weekend. There was an amazing white party at the conference center that my friends and I attended and were treated well. I asked for additional towels and wash cloths and they were brought up immediately after I called the front desk. That was very impressive. There is not a micro fridge in the room or a microwave if you are looking for that. However, for the coffee drinkers or tea drinkers there is the machine with the individuals ... Read more

This hotel overall isn't bad if you're traveling with kids. A few obvious knocks would be 1. Sorely in need of renovation. The décor is old. Not updated with modern TV or DirecTV. Badly needs a paint job. Needs Update to air conditioner 2. Location in a mall parking lot not right off the freeway. Now for the good. If you have children, this being a holidome helps. Has a nice pool and indoor court area with sauna, work out room and a small mini golf course to entertain the kids. The staff was... Read more

One of the beds had this stain on it when we checked in. Ugh! The property is dingy in the public areas and smells bad in the hallways. Washer and dryers appear to be ancient although they worked okay I guess. Laundry rooms are tiny closets with no place to sit. I don't like just leaving the clothes in the machines while they wash although who would taken them I guess. The cookies at check in were very nice though and the staff was friendly and helpful. We used to stay here when our kids were little. They still have the mini golf & indoor pool. The restaurant food was delicious. They are in the middle of updating. My one suggestion: bring a surge protector or multi-outlet. The electric outlets are minimal. I think our room had one unused outlets for recharging our multiple electronic devices.

There was some sort of event going on when we checked in, so we were unable to use the restaruant/bar when we checked in. We had to drive around to the back entrance to get to our room. The room was old. Clean. But old. No vending machines nearby. Drove to the WaWa around the corner for snacks and a soda. This isn't a destination hotel, but somewhere to stay if you're attending an event being held here, or nearby. Very average. Not unpleasant, but average.

I booked into the hotel because I needed to work all weekend in a distraction-free environment. The room had a good sized fridge, microwave, and keurig, so I was able to run to a nearby grocery store and get everything I needed for the whole weekend. The internet was very fast and reliable and I never lost my connection. The desk was also a good size, plenty of room for my laptop plus 2 external monitors, keyboard, and mouse. We were only here for one night, but we chose this hotel because of the Holiday Inn reputation. The room was as you might expect in any other HI property. I've seen some of the other reviews about the property needing upgrading, but it didn't appear to be in disrepair. Our room was fairly standard, nothing fancy, and in good repair. Had to get a room with no notice after our sewer line broke. The hotel staff could not have been more accommodating. After hearing what happened the manager upgraded our room to include the breakfast buffet for every morning we were there. Bed comfortable. Evening meal choice limited but ok. I had the sunshine burger with Jalapeno sauce. The Flying Dog beer was very good. Hotel layout a bit strange, with the swimming pool in the middle of the hotel. Good laundry facility, $2 to wash and dry. You can see this hotel from the highway but finding it is another matter, it is located to the rear of a very large shopping plaza way past the loading docks and car parks, on the edge of the high way. Some rooms face onto a swimming pool under an atrium roof. It would be unfair to comment on the fabric inside the building as it is about to under go major reconstruction and re-modelling. Otherwise it meets the basic Holiday Inn norm.
