Stayed overnight in April when visiting University of Maryland. They provide free shuttle service to the college which is great. The night we stayed, 3 busloads of students pulled up. I am assuming that they were on a tour to Washington DC. Unfortunately, they ended up all being on our floor, and were very loud & rude. Running in halls, with no supervision. You will definitely save money if you are visiting D.C, but I would rather be in DC, and spend the extra money to be in a nicer hotel. I... Read more

We stayed here as part of a group, the hotel was very accommodating. Very comfortable, the staff were extremely helpful, very nice. Helped get us into DC with the complimentary ride to the metro station. The hotels driver is a very safe one! Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is OK. The staff was helpful and courteous. My request for a room away from elevator and 6 extra pillows were honored. Very important to me is my sleep and I slept very well. I do think that the room and bathroom needed a bit updating. Wifi was free but breakfast was not.The restaurant downstairs was just OK. Many of the staff were nice and some were miserable. The restaurant is an OK place to have a meeting. The hotels seems to be a very busy hotel, has meeting rooms but parki... Read more

I stayed her with a small group of Jr High students on a tour of DC. The hotel does a great job of handling groups. There were at least two others there when we were. They feed us a good breakfast every morning and the staff was very friendly. Considering how many groups were there it seemed very quiet. I was on the top floor toward the end of the hall so that probably helped. The hotel is older but pretty well maintained and very clean.

I stayed at this location while visiting DC. I chose this location for many reasons: 1. It was a cheaper option to the hotels within the District. 2. The hotel offers shuttle to the metro station - the Greenbelt station which is about 5 to 10 minutes away. The hotel is also located close to Ikea which has some decent meal options. The shuttle came on time and took us to the metro station. When we were done with our visit to DC, we called the hotel and the shuttle van came within minutes... Read more

We stayed 2 nights at Holiday Inn, while visiting Washington DC and University of Maryland. I was kind of skeptical because of its location in a shopping plaza. The outside of the hotel does not portray how nicely decorated and big indoor actually is. The ladies at the front desk were very nice. We had buffet breakfast at the adjacent restaurant. The room was clean and very comfortable. The hotel served its purpose.

While driving to this hotel its a little confusing to find. You see a huge ikea and you drive around and next to the enterprise rent a car is this hotel. There also seems to be a bar/restaurant on the corner as well. That being said this is a very nice hotel. There seems to be 2 sections/tower. There is a restaurant here as well as a bar and a bunch of meeting rooms as well. Very nice pool and a bunch of places to eat right next to the hotel. Overall for the price (around $100 a night) this is a... Read more

Pros:This hotel is very convenient to the Univ. of Maryland. It is also easy to get to the metro station to get to DC. The room was clean and well kept during our stay. Cons: Rude front desk staff when checking in. Miscommunication between staff. Reservation was made two months in advance, two reminder phone calls made to the front desk before arrival to make sure room was correct, room was still not correct upon check in. Very frustrating. Maid knocked on the door at 8:00 am for room service. D... Read more

Pros: This hotel is in a convenient location relative to the University of Maryland. There are also quite a few stores nearby incase you need to run out and get something you need. TV reception was good with a variety of channels, the room itself was clean and the hotel was very quiet, even with a group of kids there for some kind of conference at UMD. Cons: The 1980s called and they want their decor back. While the room was clean and the hotel was quiet (2 key factors) the decor was a bit da... Read more

I stayed at this hotel for only one night for a quick business trip. As an IHG member I expect more that what I was offered. I was put in a room in Tower 1. I think 1012 but not sure. This room, although clean, was extremely dated and in major need of a renovation. The room was musty, had beds that were horrible and made noise when you sat on them. Stains on the carpet as well. There was a dented fridge with a microwave on top right next to the TV. This room was horrible and is what I would expe... Read more

The hotel is located near major routes and is only a very short drive to the Greenbelt station to DC. There's also some restaurants within walking distance. The room was newer feeling in the second tower. However, the common areas of the hotel were a little more tired. The AC was completely shut off when I got to the room and it never really cooled down completely the entire weekend. The bed was very hard and the TV was comically small. It didn't affect my rating, but I was completely surp... Read more

My father and I travel a lot and go to a lot of hotels. Our go-to chain in Holiday Inn, and I have never had a worse experience at a Holiday Inn ever. The person at the front desk was rude to us and was on the phone while checking us in, pointing at my father for information, such as his ID and credit card. The rooms were cramped for a College Park hotel; I felt like I was in NYC. Housekeeping never serviced our room, even though we asked for it. The breakfast service was pathetic, no wonder t... This rating would be lower if it were not for good staff. Keisha checked us in and when I mentioned that we needed some ketchup for our food, she brought over a whole cup full of ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper. When we realized that the safe would not open, she immediately someone to fix it which he did right away. Otherwise, the place was just ok. We were originally supposed to be in a different room but got switched for some reason and the roll away bed was not in our new room. We wond... Read more

I've stayed here several times and I will say I've enjoyed it through and through. I usually come to the area for work and it always makes for an accommodating and convenient stay. There's also a nearby IKEA, Chipotle, Buffalo Wild Wings Bar and Grill, Verizon Wireless and more. This would be a great place for parents or relatives visiting their kids at the University of Maryland--it's a 5-minute bus or car ride away.

Right next to an IKEA and several restaurants. Just off the highway. The traffic is congested in this area. It took us 20 minutes to drive to UMD at 8:15 am. There is a restaurant in the hotel that will do in a pinch. The room was fine. There was no fan in the bathroom and the shampoo bottle was the smallest I have ever seen. Almost too small for the two of us. The room was clean and quiet, which is what really matters.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights this week. My stay was a quiet and relaxing one. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to visit DC (or the surrounding areas) but doesn't want to pay outrageous costs for a hotel stay. The customer service here was superb, location to the highway and DC were perfect and the room was very clean. At one point my air conditioner was running slowly so they promptly replaced the unit in the room. I will be using this hotel again if ever back in th... Read more

This is an older building and there is only so much you can do with it. The rooms were somewhat small but we managed. We had 3 adults and 3 kids on this trip to Washington DC. The two things that were disappointing were the indoor pool, way too hot kids couldn't swim. Breakfast was terrible. The staff was very nice.

The management did not respond to complaints even weeks after a complaint was filed. The stench of mildew in the bathroom was so overwhelming that it seeped into the room and hallway. It was very apparent that a masking spray was used generously to cover cigarette smoke in the room. On top of all that, there is an unmistakable stench throughout the entire hallway -- the entire hotel, as well -- that makes it uncomfortable to be comfortable. I guess the proximity to IKEA might be a draw, but it i... Read more

It is very easy to find this hotel --- look for the tall Ikea sign on Baltimore Ave, and the hotel is right next to it! There is nothing special about this hotel. A nice pub that opens til late. Rooms are nice and clean as one expects for most Holiday Inn properties.

This place was great. And the price was much less (half the cost) than several other places of the same class. They had a decent breakfast for $11 pp hot buffet. If you a member of HI you'll get discount. Will be staying here from now on. Buffalo Wild Wings is in the parking lot. So plenty of choices to eat within walking distance and short drive to UMD.

We arrived at the hotel late on 7/16/2016. Before we arrived I called the hotel to be sure if the had additional rooms available during our travels. The communication on the phone was awesome. I thanked the person I was communicating with and asked if their was any additional charges for parking, taxes or any other fees, I should be aware of. Stayed here with a baseball team for a weekend tournament. The staff for the most part were unfriendly and unhelpful, with the exception of Jessica. The elevator and room smell musty. The bathroom is very small with no counter. The laundry facility was not functioning. Overall, outdated and rundown. The proximity to IKEA is not enough to make up for the conditions. I will stay somewhere else next time.

Pros: free parking, convenient to expressway, close to eateries, car rental on site, near IKEA, comfy bed & high water pressure. This hotel is pretty much what I would expect from a typical Holiday Inn. It was a clean and comfortable room. Very convenient to the major highways nearby and also close to restaurants and shopping. We requested to be moved and given a room in the remodeled part of hotel. In the new room, the smoke detector was on the bench and dust was caked on all fixtures, and electrical outlets were broken. I could write something negative about the Holiday Inn experience but thanks to Ms Renée, the Director, everything was right. I booked a room for 5 in H.I. site but when i arrived the room was for maximum 4 persons and so the Director gave me one more room paying for it half price: for me it was perfect. The rooms were clean and breakfast was good. It's close to the highway.

Dingy and old hotel room. We did not stay the night and got a reservation elsewhere. The desk clerk who cancelled the reservation was courteous. I even left my flat iron in the room and they was able to hold on to it for a couple days until I was available to pick it up. They have a pool and gym.
