Spent three nights here, and mainly put up with the place because the breakfast staff and front desk staff were so good. A couple of notes: - inconsistent cleaning (furniture was dusty, sometimes they replaced coffee cups, sometimes not) one day, and fantastic the next. Hard to know which you were going to get. - slow, slow, slow check-in. One overworked person manning the desk meant the guy at the head of the line, when there was a problem with his reservation, had all of us waiting. And waiti... Read more

This is not a high-end (Hilton) hotel - as you may know. It appears clean and neat. The staff, including the housekeeping staff, seem friendly and helpful. The typical complimentary breakfast includes those puffy, pre-made omlets, self-serve waffles, dry pastries, thick oatmeal and sweetened, flavored yogurts, bananas, coffee, tea, orange juice, etc. The elevators are smooth and slow, but clean and working! Parking is not abundant and not clearly marked that some is for the office building n... Read more

While in DC visiting our son, needed a last minute hotel room for a single night. As a Hilton Honors member I phoned their reservation number and asked for a hotel room near DC that was under $150/night. We were booked into this Hampton Inn. We asked for a late arrival, and got there around 10pm. The night manager was wonderful. Got us our room key right away (another perk of being an HH member). However, there were two whole floors filled with middle school children.. And we were put o... Read more

I decided to do a last minute road trip to meet up with two different sets of friends in the College Park area. I love all the Hilton Honors family of hotels. The beds are always so comfortable and this location was no different. They were able to check me in by 11:00 am. I went to my room on the 4th floor. I laid across the bed and before I knew it I fell a sleep. It was the most restful sleep I have had in a couple of months. I finally woke up got and went out to get something to eat. W... Read more

This is not the typical quality one would expect from the Hampton Inn brand. The room smelled of mold, and the bathroom walls showed mold stains. The breakfast was subpar with cold eggs and lukewarm coffee, and parking was very difficult and we had to park in an adjacent IHOP restaurant. Definitely not worth the price. I would avoid this place and go elsewhere.

Booked two rooms at this hotel for the Memorial Day weekend. On arrival (with the in-laws and a small baby in tow) notified that only one room was available, despite my presenting the booking for two rooms to them. Polite, but clueless and unhelpful front desk staff spent half an hour explaining the same thing over and over again and how there was nothing they could do. Hotel is perfect choice for Washington DC visit. Close to College Park Metro Station. Property is clean and well kept. Hotel staff were extremely accommodating and helpful, pleasant and courteous. Rooms and public areas were very clean and well taken care of. Parking can be a problem - issues with business next door. Hotel is very up front about where to park and where not to park. After I booked I read reviews and it confirmed my doubts about this hotel. I agree with other clients about the stale/musty smell from the room. They have renovated the rooms but you can tell that they have been poorly renovated. The room had a cold damp feel to it. Mostly bc the bathroom didn't vent the moisture properly. The moisture just lingered in the room and carpet. Also, the bathtub had a horrible rust stain a few inches from the drainage. Did all I could to avoid stepping on it. The... Read more

We were here to visit UMD. The desk never acknowledged our Hilton membership. The room was exactly opposite my preferences, which they even copied on the reservation. The room was noisy, TV didn't work, no light over sink, etc. The hotel is in a very seedy area and not on UMD's preferred list (now I know why). Poor parking. No redeeming qualities. Shame on Hilton!
