Hotel is situated on the water in a small rural town. I was expecting something rustic, but it is up to date and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. As a senior citizen i appreciated that the valet man took my bags up to my room after parking my car. Check in was quick and competent. My room was nice, with a balcony that looked out over the water. There were 2 wooden high chairs and a table on the balcony. The sliding door had not only a lock, but a bar that would keep th... Not sure why this place gets such good reviews. From the moment I walked in the hotel it smelled like mold and mildew. The room had ants and we had a Junior suite in most hotels would be a regular room. Bed so uncomfortable bathroom dirty,no room service. I guess you would say I'm somewhat of a hotel snob, when I go away I expect the best in amenities and service. I thought I would try something new, shame on me, I will never return.

This is out third time over 2 years staying at CBRS. By far, it is the best hotel in Chesapeake Beach. I highly recommend getting the up graded rooms which overlook Chesapeake Bay. However, beware that there may be noise from the outdoor bar below! The rooms are well appointed and the whirlpool bath is worth the extra money. The restaurant is very good with an excellent selection of sea food. The wine list is excellent and the service is very good to excellent. The only problem we had was a too ... Read more

I've been coming to CBRS for several years for a conference, usually staying two nights. It's pleasant enough, comfortable, and the staff is very good. Is it elegant, grand, fancy, or luxurious? I wouldn't say so, having been at nicer places, but it's certainly a step up from the chain hotels in the immediate area! If anything I wish the restaurant and event room (including the bar and restrooms) were cleaner and in better condition. But I happen to know that will all be renovated in the ne... Read more

Pleasant locale, good food in the restaurant, good service, comfortable bed; the air conditioning was a bit loud and humid. The view of the bay and the surrounding area was nice. The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful.

We were travelling across several cities of the northeast coast of the USA. Exhausted from these city visits, we came to this beautiful place to find some rest. Definitely a place to spend a couple or a few days to relax and enjoy. It is such a beautiful place!

I've been coming to Chesapeake Beach and Resort for over 30 years. It has grown into a 'home away from home" (just 30 minutes from Washington, DC). They've added more and more activities to enjoy along with the slot machines and Bingo. They just keep getting better and better. I attended my first concert (The Whispers) and everything was so very well organized. The staff is extraordinarily courteous, friendly, and helpful. The food is excellent-whether dinner or just hor'deuvres. I've als... Read more

Great location. We were just staying the night after a wedding. Wish we had time to check out the beach bar/restaurants ect. Bed was very comfortable, room clean, staff was nice. Only complaint was the overly loud air conditioning unit.

We really enjoyed the area and the view. There is so much to do here and the staff was very friendly. It was disappointing to see such a nasty stain on the couch it made me feel that the entire room was dirty. we wanted to sit on the couch and have a drink and that was impossible.

Not sure how I found this place but for it to say beach resort I thought it had a beach. We were disappointed because the kids wanted to play in the sand and water. But there was a concert going on and it cost $8 to go down there. So we went to brownie beach just down the road. We found a few shark teeth. The rooms were nice though we had a view of the bay.

The property needs updating, No beach, No outside poor, nothing to do, The casino was bingo and slots and many of the players were off the street locals hang out there. We had to have our keys reset 4 times in 3 days. The wait staff was slow, some could not speak English and the bartender did not know how to make a drink

This was a nice little get away for a girls weekend. We were looking for a place to relax and that offered spa services. There is no beach for swimming on the property but we were happy just to sit by the water. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. Spa was very clean and offered many services. The resort is a little pricey especially by the time you add spa, dinner, drinks and any gambling (slot machines).

My husband and I stayed at the resort for our honeymoon and selected a balcony room king bed, but they surprised us with a free upgrade to a room with king bed, jacuzzi, fireplace, and balcony with 2-sided view of bay! We highly recommend the resort! Room - Spacious and very clean. Has all the necessary and more that a chain hotel would have. Our room had two large TVs. The beds were so comfortable, and the water was super hot if needed. Spa - The spa was amazing. The environment was extr... Read more

The 4 of July was raining. And all the fireworks were already done the day before, other than that the our visit is amazing soon very Quaint the cottages at Herrington harbour are very cozy, I can see the bay from my front porch, beach equipment and umbrella are provided, the pool area and Mango restaurant are together and the food is amazing live music sometime.the harbor is the best place for blue crabs and shrimp, the boardwalk is about 10 minutes away in North Beach.Great memorable visit.

First off, the picture that initially shows up on Tripadivsor (of the bed) must be dated. The rooms we were in had the nice 'newer' bedding with white covered duvets - very similar to a Marriott and very comfortable! Check in was smooth and we were given exactly the type of room we reserved. The hotel was sold out due to the concert and a wedding this weekend. Don't necessarily go by the website's reservation system. When I initially looked for a room it said sold out. However, when I called, t... Read more

The property is beautiful, however they boast of a "wonderful assortment of public beaches", which couldn't be further from the truth. The FEW beaches that are within a 10 minute drive are awful. VERY small, dirty, with fees ranging from $10-$18 per person! The front desk people couldn't have been LESS helpful or knowledgeable. No information about local beaches, incorrect information about most other things. Often, the desk was unattended. The live music on the weekends was very nice but ... Read more

My wife and I first went to Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa last October and Gage has made every stay memorable. We have referred many of our friends, and Gage has given several tours to them. The last people we sent had a very beautiful thing to say. I have to second MAMC1: There is no access to the water from the resort. They have a sandy terrace NEXT to the bay (and a pool), but the bay water is blocked off. So, we did feel misled there... However: We enjoyed lying on the terrace; service was good; restaurant was good; continental breakfast very acceptable. We had to pay a fee, a couple of miles away, to reach the actual beach.

I received a full tour of the entire grounds of this place and boy is it beautiful. We had no idea such a resort existed so close to home. It felt as if we were on vacation, yet so close to home. The outdoor bar and amenities and views are what make this place. I'm hoping to have my wedding here in 2017 and I can't wait. Anything you could want in a resort/wedding venue is here and available.

We arrived around 12:00pm (check-in is a 3:00pm) and were told to come back in an hour and our room would be ready. We killed time by dining at the Boardwalk Cafe on the resort for lunch. The food was decent, prices were okay, service was good. The ambiance was nice, with a beach-feel to it. While at lunch, I received a call from the resort, asking to verify the last 4 digits of my credit card, used on TripAdvisor, to book the reservation. We returned to the lobby after lunch and after the young... Read more

My High School Reunion was held at this resort this past weekend (Aug. 19-20, 2016). This hotel knows how to take care of its patrons. From the hotel to the restaurant to the various amenities offered there -- everything was outstanding. Wherever we went on the property the staff knew who we were and our reason for being there and went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend. They really know how to take care of you and make you feel special.

We came here for a two-night stay and relax in the area. Pros and cons with our experience. Based on an earlier review we tried to get into our room earlier than the usual 3:00 check-in time. They couldn't manage it and may have felt rushed because the room we got hadn't even been vacuumed. We also realized later that the humidifier in the air-conditioning didn't work. Very humid. This was such a great place. It reminded me a bit of Oceanside, CA. We were given an upgrade when we arrived which had a balcony view of the harbor. This was such a relaxing place. Having coffee out on the balcony and listening to the waves was awesome. Coffee and tea were available all day. Breakfast was good and the beds were very comfortable. Wish we would have stayed longer.

Staff was pleasant. Rod n Real was great. Room had a nice view. Several sections of the carpet were moldy. And changing the filters on the air conditioner did not help the level of humidity in the room. Conveniently located to several day trips. Overall a fun getaway, but the hotel rooms need upgrading.

We decided to get away for a night to the Bay Area in Md so we booked a room at this hotel. We were never here before, so we didn't know what to expect. When arriving, the desk staff picked a room that had a wonderful view of the bay and marina area. It was so relaxing or sit on the balcony in the evening and early morning. We were going to a wedding up the road at the Herrington on the Beach. The whole area is gorgeous -- right on the bay, water views, the whole deal. The hotel however is more like an old school Motel 6 than any resort or spa. The room was nice enough. We'd paid the small upgrade for a room with a view which it did have. Was at a wedding on the shore and realized it would be fun to spend the night there rather than I trudge all the way back to DC. The hotel is off the road and has the "feel" of a small resort. The room was very nice with a beautiful view of the Bay.
