Newly remodeled. The staff was equally refreshing and accommodating. Easy transport to metro station, maybe 5 min shuttle ride or 15 minute walk. The breakfast was fresh and hot, great selection. I have been staying at this location for my Washington DC trip for 6 years running.

Clean and nice hotel. Friendly staff. Easy shuttle access to Metro. Beware the shuttle service ends fairly early, especially on weekends. Make sure you're back in time or be prepared to walk. Rooms were nice and clean. A recent remodel omitted a dresser for cubby holes under the tv which aren't convenient.

Clean, friendly, good quality, good breakfast & friendly employees. Easy transit to the Metro by hotel van. I would stay here again if I were returning for a visit. Hotel is in commercial area. Great Value.

PROS: Clean, spacious room. Fridge & microwave. Decent breakfast and coffee available all day ( I would avoid the "eggs"). Shuttle to Branch Ave. & National Harbor (which we didn't learn until our last day). Branch Ave. station is totally walkable (5 minutes). CONS: There is NOTHING around. If you can't get it from the Shell gas station on the corner, you're out of luck. Shuttle stops at 9pm, but I walked it with my husband. Neighborhood seems safe. The "eggs" and sausage from breakfast w... Read more

Overall we had a really good experience at the hotel. The breakfast was fine and the shuttle bus was a bonus which got us to from the hotel to the local Metro station. We travelled to Northern Harbor for our evening meals.

We booked this hotel for business. It was clear the property had been recently renovated with some nice touches in the lobby. Our room was also redone but a couple of things stand out to me as disappointing. Someone had clearly spilled something on the floor that left a huge white stain on the carpeting in front of the TV. In the bathroom long dark hair was on the counter and stuck to the hair dryer stand. Those kinds of things leave an impression. Walls were fairly thin and unfortunately ... Read more

Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, very accessible to the metro, although the shuttle service to the metro doesn't start until 7:00am they shuttled us over at 6:30am in order for us to obtain tickets to the Washington monument. Rooms were clean.

If you're considering stay here, I wouldn't. My family and I stayed here in March, for 5 nights and won't be going back. There are too many other hotels near D.C. to settle for this one, especially for the price. Pros: -Fast shuttle to the metro station. 7am-9pm. - Metro station is close to hotel, so you could walk if needed/wanted, but in the area that it's in, I wouldn't really recommend it. -Decent breakfast, but we have had better from other Country Inns. - Bed was pretty comfortable, bu... The hotel is approximately 40mins from Washington DC. The rooms are spacious and clean, BUT there is absolutely nothing for children to do besides watching TV. There is no pool, and there is no agreement with the close by hotels to use their pool. The shuttle service is extremely limited so if you can you should drive. The breakfast is just ok. You will need some form of motor vehicle to get to the restaurants. Although the restaurants are somewhat close by the streets are busy and I do not reca... Read more

Our stay at the Country Inn and Suites was excellent. Our room was basic, but clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was good and had a wide variety of options. We used the shuttle service everyday to and from the metro station. The drivers were quick and courteous. The location of this hotel is pretty far out from the city, about a 20-25 minute ride on the metro. The only down side is that there are no restaurants around for dinner. The hotel does offer shuttles to the National Harbor for di... Read more

This is a very nice hotel, the only thing that was missing is a pool :(. The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are very very comfy, the breakfast each morning was very good (eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, potatoes) a wide variety to choose from. This hotel is also close to the Branch avenue (Green train line) and when you get off the metro, just call the hotel and the shuttle is there in about 2 minutes to get you. We even walked back to the hotel a couple of times. From the hotel to downt... Read more

This was a great hotel to stay in. Tina the front desk person was so helpful and accommodating. They even had a shuttle to pick us up from the nearest metro station. The breakfast was very good and well taken care of. It was very homey and they let us eat our Chinese delivery for dinner in the breakfast area. I would definitely stay there again. All the people working there were very friendly.

What a fantastic place to stay. The staff there were so accommodating. Anytime we needed the shuttle.. they were there. They were very helpful in so many ways. Including letting folks who ordered outside of the hotel a place to sit comfortably and eat. The breakfast was great. A bit different daily. Very clean place. I would definitely stay there again. I would like to thank Imran for all of his help. What a great employee!

We recently spent the night here with our group of 20. The hotel staff was very accommodating, letting us check in before the scheduled check-in time. The rooms were neat and clean. The staff arranged to move our entire group to the metro station and then picked us up again after we toured. The breakfast was good and offered several hot selections in addition to cereals, pastries, yogurt and fruit. Waffle iron was very popular - could have used an additional one and the breakfast area was quit... Read more

Be wary of the prepay promotion. I admit I didn't realize that was the case when I purchased, I just thought it was a good deal on a booking that was rather last minute do to circumstances. But, if anything changes where you need to make an alteration, Carlson does very little to assist you. I received a HUGE run around trying to cancel my trip when I thought my trip plans had drastically changed. Linda at the front desk, who was supposedly the "Front Desk Manager", was quite rude when I calle... Read more

I picked this hotel to stay for my Washington DC trip. The hotel was a great choice as they offer free parking, hotel shuttle to Metro station, and a free hot breakfast. The Metro is also only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is easy to find and in a nice area. The room was nice and clean. The only disappointment is there is no swimming pool. Overall a great stay

This hotel is close to DC. I stayed there after a business trip. This hotel was very close the DC Mall area and monuments. The staff are not overly friendly. I was not recognized as a Carlson club member. The hotel was clean and close to DC. Also close to Alexandra VA, which has lots of restaurants.

Pros: The hotel was very quiet. It is located close to the Metro Green Line for transportation into the city. The shuttle service to and from the Green Line is helpful. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Not exactly "country" decor, more modern. But that is semantics, not really a complaint. Good breakfast buffet with many options. Cons: Not many. Whoever is in charge of purchasing food for the hotel should consider buying more, because the buffet had lots of options that occasion... Read more

This is a great little place to stay while visiting Washington D.C. My husband and I stayed two nights. Country Inn offers shuttle service to the local metro station (drop off and pick up whenever you want instead of a set schedule), which provides nice flexibility. The hotel itself is 4 blocks walking distance from the Metro. Not a ton of food places in the immediate vicinity, but lots of delivery options (the front desk gave us a stack of menus and recommendations upon request). The room was s... Read more

We recently stayed here for our family visit to DC. It is near the Branch Ave metro and has complimentary shuttle service to the metro. You can also park there as well for a nominal fee. The hotel has been updated and in area that isn't near much. We drove to eat in a not quite so desirable area. The room was spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good but can get very very crowded after 8am. The front desk clerk who checked us in was not the most amicable and friendly b... Read more

We have always used this hotel chain for vacations. The observation was made that the staff here was less friendly than previous experience, but we were still satisfied, until I got home. The suites are great if traveling with kids; separate sleeping area for grown ups and a pull out couch for our little one. This is the first time we have ever had an issue and I am incredibly disappointed in how it was dealt with. The hotel authorization on my card was never cancelled instead of being charged fo... We were driving into DC area from Texas and wanted a hotel that would not charge us an arm and a leg per night, and included parking--since we were driving. I booked this directly with them and used AAA discount. We arrived late on a Saturday night and there were a large number of guests hanging out outside making a lot of noise. Apparently they were having a family reunion. When we checked into our room, it smelled like smoke. The sign on the door clearly said No Smoking. I went down to s... Read more

Great hotel. Clean and friendly staff. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast had hot options daily. This hotel is very close (4 blocks) to the Branch Ave.metro station. The hotel has a shuttle to the metro, but the schedule didn't work for us. No problem though. There's plenty of parking at the metro station after 9:30 am. My only complaint is the WI-FI. It dropped often and I ultimately used my phone as a hot spot for internet planning.
