Be prepared for a lot of walking. Beautiful property, got to see Washington and his wife tombstone. Loved all of the tulip gardens, not enough bathrooms considering the size of the property , the kids did a scavenger hunt, kept them busy

So the basics are there: bed, bathroom, secure elevator and convenient location. That's where the amenities end for this hotel. I have traveled for work for several years and have seen the inside of many hotels. There are things you begin to look for and hotel rooms begin to blend together over time. There are certain must-haves for every basic hotel stay and sadly, this hotel lacked many of those must-haves. Negative impression right away: - no sign with hotel name over awning, so was hard t... Stayed at Mt Vernon for 2 nights for a graduation. Loved the location. It wasn't very noisy across from a lovely park. We had a nice walk to Inner Harbor. Loved the Hotel It was retro style, very clean. Comfy bed!!! We arrived from the airport at 8 Am, so we just went to leave our luggage there till we could check in at 4. To our very pleasant surprise, our room was ready, and we were able to relax after a very early flight. Bob & Neisha greeted us and were very friendly and helpful. The roo... Read more

I agree entirely with MontereyMama83 - everything said is true. I would add the clientele left a little to be desired - some were most unfriendly to even ride the elevator with and some drunk girl bashing on my door at 6am was pretty scary. How did she get up in the lift if she didn't have a key? The lift was not working properly and wouldn't read the swipe cards easily - it took many swipes and sometimes just would not work. I (and others) brought this to the attention of rude staff and somehow... Read more

Very clean and full of character! The beds are very comfortable, and the d├ęcor is that of a by-gone era. Close to the Harbor and the light rail is just two blocks away. The rooms do not have microwaves or refrigerators, so one must plan accordingly.

My family and I recently stayed at this hotel during a trip to catch an Orioles game. We arrived a few hours before checkin and were pleasantly greeted by Neisha who assisted us with checkin and helping us get acclimated with getting around. We booked a double bed room which was nicely sized, clean, and had plenty of amenities. There was a fridge and extra sink in our room. We also parked in the parking lot on the same block as a hotel. It was $24 for the night and we could come and go as we ... Read more

I read the recent reviews of this property and I wonder if I stayed in the same hotel? Despite what others may have said recently, our visit was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were greeted by the valet, who parked our car quickly. We were checked in by a very efficient staff member. We were allowed to check into our room a little early. The room was very large, clean and comfortable and all the amenities worked well: wifi, Jacuzzi, towel warmer, refrigerator, etc. ... Read more

I got a really good/cheap deal, so looks wise we got what we paid for but everyone was really nice and the location was great. It was a mile away from Bars and Ravens stadium which is where our show was.

This place was pretty awesome. I booked through a third party and thought I would automatically get a sucky room, however o was wrong. We received a corner room that had great views with 5 windows plus a window in the bathroom which also revealed a great view. I had a jetted bath tub, couch, side chair and a four seater dining table. This hotel exceeded my expectations.

Rooms were musty and felt like they hadn't been renovated in 20 years. We valeted our car (no self park option) and when we went to pick it up we were told we would have to wait 45 minutes. Front desk attendant was totally unsympathetic to this major inconvenience. The only redeeming quality was the large room size, otherwise the hotel should be closed for a total renovation and hire new staff that is service oriented. I rarely write such a harsh review, but feel compelled to warn others!

First I should say that this hotel is scheduled to be closed and updated very soon. Pros: Great location for a visit to Peabody Large room complete with wet bar Large bathroom and soaker tub Interesting Art Deco vibe Helpful morning staff. Cons: Surly unhelpful evening staff Very high cost for parking (public garage nearby is much cheaper) No umbrellas for guests (it's a block to Peabody--can't make a good impression for an admissions tour when soaked). Overall needs updating: Towel warmer... Read more

Although the hotel has 3.5 stars it easily comes in at a 1-1.5. As we arrived their is no longer a sign for the hotel so finding it is difficult. Only one of the very small rickety elevators worked and had to be operated by a staff member. When we arrived to our room we were met with bunched carpet in numerous places, stains on the floor and lamp shades, and where the carpet seemed were the carpet was pulled up and carpet was missing. Dated out old doesn't describe it. The corner of the bed had ... Read more

Ok nice rooms but the staff, those young ladies at the reception forget about them... Clearly annoyed at any question, bringing down the marks of an otherwise fine place. Valet service was ok. Reasonably located in Baltimore. I would look elsewhere next time

My sister and I had a great visit at the Mount Vernon in Baltimore. Staff was helpful. James, the valet, was the first person we met and he was courteous and helpful. Did a great job. The room was really cool, art deco pieces, marble and silver bathroom, towel rack to heat towels. Very nice. Beautiful, old building with lots of other architecturally interesting and awesome buildings and churches close by. Inner Harbor only 1 mile way, within walking distance. I would definitely stay there... Read more

My. Vernon was a very interesting place to visit. I found out some very surprising facts about George Washington. The grounds were kept up beautifully. The restaurant on the grounds was very good and very reasonably priced. Buy your tickets online and you can avoid the long lines at this attraction!

I stayed here overnight for a next morning business meeting across the street. If that is your specific purpose, then this will probably do. I would never stay here again, though, and I would never recommend it to family or friends. I give it two stars instead of one only because a single star needs to be reserved for the absolute worst places ever. The Mt. Vernon is one step above a one-star. At first glance the impression and photos are luxurious. But after a couple of minutes there you'll see... Read more

We enjoyed a lovely room with interesting architecture. We were just a few streets away from Peabody Conservatory, so was extremely convenient. THe staff were helpful and friendly, especially James at the door, who gave us advice about parking, local eateries, and directions.
