The staff was so incredibly positive and cheerful. They had a full house and the staff was spot on at all times and unfailingly pleasant. The location is perfect to see all the sight of Annapolis within walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The only downside was that there isn't a free breakfast buffet, which would have been so nice for the many busy days ahead.

We wanted to have a nice weekend get away in Annapolis so I searched for a hotel with good Trip Advisor ratings that was close to the heart of downtown. When I got there I found out that I could have paid less for the room had I booked directly rather than through TripAdvisor and you couldn't change the rate if you had booked via this method. Then the fun began! We had room right across from the elevator on the third floor with a mattress that was so flimsy you could literally feel every sprin... Read more

My husband and I stayed here over Memorial Day. We chose the O'Callaghan after reading the reviews. The room was spacious, but the beds were low and a bit soft. The bathroom was nice, except for the tub, which could stand to be updated. The room was always cleaned promptly, although the bathroom sink, tub and floor was not cleaned on day two, and we tipped daily. Service at check in was friendly and prompt. They also offer valet parking for $20/day. Any requests we had were quickly accomm... Read more

This hotel is not near the tourist hordes haunting the Harbor area, but out on West Street away from the frenzy. There is onsite parking for 20.00. The hotel in general is shopworn. There is a nice restaurant bar with limited menu, an OK lobby. But the rooms are sadly in need of renovation, and maintenance. The furniture was scratched up (no luggage bench so you have to put the luggage on the furniture) some of he drawers did not work, the carpet was old, the beds were breaking down. While... Read more

Many of the things that are important are very good or even excellent at this hotel. Location: The hotel is located about a mile from the hustle and bustle of the harbor area and is across the street from a circulator trolley and parking location. Cleanliness: Very good during our stay. Room Size / Noise Level: The rooms are reasonably sized with two queen beds (instead of doubles) and noise was not a problem during our stay (which was during Commissioning Week, so the hotel was full). The hotel's staff was so friendly and helpful. They assisted us in terms of directions, worthwhile sites and eating places. The hotel is older; the rooms are clean and simple. The bathroom could benefit from some updating; high step up and down from the bathtub although there is a safety bar. All in all, a pleasant experience.

The reviews looked fine, but the reality is quite different. I would rate this hotel a half step above Motel 6. The bed is like a rock. The towels are paper thin. The Airconditioning is so noise it wakes you up when it turns on multiple times at night. The hotel is tired and needs a complete facelift and significant upgrade to compete in the Annapolis market.

Been going to Annapolis for years for a girls get away and always stayed at big name waterfront hotel. But that hotel has gotten VERY overpriced and VERY corporate. More about the brand and much LESS about their service for guests. After our trip last year we decided enough of that. O'Callaghans on line seemed like it might be a nice change and I must say I am very glad we stayed there. Party of four, we had connecting rooms. Rooms were spacious, clean and quiet. I put together a four day convention for approximately 60 attendees at the O'Callaghan Annapolis. I didn't have a room there myself, as I live in the area, but had more interaction with their staff than most people would. This was my first time organizing something like this and Roni helped guide me through. Communications were clear and responded to promptly. We looked at several hotels in the area, and O'Callaghan presented the best value in a place that was within a 15 minute walk of the ... Read more

We enjoyed our short trip to Annapolis staying at O'Callaghens. It's a small European hotel except the rooms are a decent size. (Unlike in Europe.) Our room was ready when we got there at 11 am. The staff was friendly and helpful. We did not eat at the restaurant because there are so many outstanding restaurants within walking distance. Parking was valet and was sort of expensive. We would definitely stay here again.

This 2 night stay was our second time at O'Callaghans Hotel in Annapolis. Booking was done online via the hotel website. While this time there was no GROUPON deal which included valet parking & next day breakfast, the standard room rate for two queen beds was average and affordable ($168 per night). Valet parking is seamless and the attendants are very friendly ($20 per day). Check-in with Steve was professional and personable. The o"Callaghan is well located for downtown area attractions. Overall our experience with staff was good, we had no problems. The room itself was a bit "shabby" clean enough, but wallpaper starting to peel, the soap dish in the shower was wobbly. We did not dine at the hotel, but did have drinks a few times. Given what some of the hotels in the area charge it was a decent value for the money.

Stayed here for one night on a road trip down the coast. Great price, just on the edge of walking distance from downtown waterfront but not bad at all. Parking was convenient and the drive to spots in the area was easy. Service was good, rooms were clean and comfortable. Not luxurious but fair for the price. Would stay again.

You can tell this is an older hotel, but everything was well maintained and clean. Everything worked as it should. The John Barry restaurant is excellent! In my opinion, this hotel is an exceptional value. It's 1 mile from City Dock, an easy walk. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

First I have to say the employees do a great job making your stay good. The conditions of the hotel need major updates and repairs. First room we were in had mole around bathtub. The second room had dirty filter in air conditioner and would not work and no working hairdryer. Brought a hairdryer from front desk and got a shock when plugged in. Third room had a deck that had missing pieces of wood and loose planks. Also all the carpets in every room needed cleaning bad. Will never stay here... Read more

Our company recently hosted a meeting at this hotel. The meeting rooms are small. The A/C was either set on Arctic or Musty. The walls between meeting rooms are paper thin, so a boisterous group next door to us was incredibly disruptive. Worst of all was the WiFi situation. Most of us could not connect in the meeting rooms (connection in the guest rooms did not seem to be an issue). The hotel staff said they had limited connectivity if too many users were on the WiFi. Came down for the Navy football opener. Hotel was exceptionally clean, charming, stately, and had a distinguished old-world elegance about it, albeit in a very casual and laid-back way. Ideal location within walking distance of the Naval Academy and downtown. I made reservations for three rooms over a five day period. Every one of our rooms had severe issues.... broken furniture, dirty carpets, peeling wallpaper. It was homecoming weekend and all other hotels in the area were booked, so we had to endure the five days. The hotel is located near many bars and restaurants in a "happening" part of town. It's about a 20-25 walk to the Navy football stadium. And those are the only two reasons to stay at this hotel. The decor is dated, wall covering peeling and mold is obvious in bathroom around the tub and on the ceiling. Parking is an extra $20 a day (hint-park in the nearby public garage for $10). For $200 a night it is a rip-off.

This was the second time we stayed at the O'Callaghan. We use the hotel as a stop on our biannual trips to Durham, NC from Massachusetts. It is very well located on West St. and easy to get to, important when you've been on the road for 6 hours. The rooms are clean and comfortable and everyone is very cordial. A free beverage (this time it was apple cider) in the lobby is a plus. Although there is an extra charge of $20 for parking, we parked on the street across from the hotel with no problem.
