The front desk staff were ALL extremely helpful to ensure our needs were met during our stay, especially the Front Office Manager, Neil Suan. Housekeeping was prompt & also very helpful in accommodating our needs. It is true, the property is a bit older. Some of the rooms have been upgraded, some haven't.

When we arrived, right at check-in time, we were told the King room we requested wasn't available yet. I explained that I did not request a king room, I requested a room for 2 adults and a child, to which I was told that they had nothing to do with how many people go into a room, only what type of bed is requested. They said they only had King and Deluxe King rooms. They offered a roll-away bed for the 3rd person, and I was pleased that they didn't try to charge for it. 2 out of 3 elevators ... Read more

If you have reason to stay in or around Bethesda or Washington DC in general, you could definitely do worse than staying here. Like all Hyatt Hotels, this one has nicely appointed rooms and beautiful atrium styled lobby. Adequate parking below and best places to eat in Bethesda with the hotel's own Mortens Steakhouse and The Daily Grille, both on premises. The staff here is helpful and friendly.

The hotel is old and worn. There are chips on corners everywhere. My room had the ugliest red velvet chair I've seen since an aunt's house in the 70s. The AC didn't work until maintenance came and changed the clogged filter. But, it is CLEAN. The sheets were immaculate and the bathroom spotless each day I was there. The best thing about this hotel, however, is the people and the service they provide. I was there for a conference. In my time there, I spoke with front desk staff, maintenance, room... Read more

We got a decent rate for the weekend but when we asked about additional days the rate tripled. Okay, DC area, sorta. Breakfast offered was $11 for coffee and doughnut! Seriously??? After a long day touring DC we made the mistake of choosing to get supper in the restaurant. NOTHING suitable for our 13 year-old-grandsons. They chose fries. Husband asked me to bring a salad to him so he could rest the room. I chose a Cobb salad and asked for a box NOW so I could "take half back to my husband... Read more

The hotel is convenient to the Metro and to nearby restaurants. It's a typical Hyatt, with that prison-style design. The quick breakfast spot is $14+, and seemed like a ripoff, but there was some plain yoghurt with an excellent taste. There isn't a real lobby and no pleasant place to sit and talk with people. The staff at the front desk were courteous and pleasant. You would never stay here unless you needed to be right there - as I did - for some reason. If I'd been paying for it myself I... Read more

This is an old-style, large enclosed courtyard hotel, which has seen better days. The staff was friendly upon check-in. However, there are some serious issues with the building: (1) squeaking elevators (which are on the inside in the courtyard area) all night. (2) knocking noises coming from the vent system. (3) noisy exterior I only stayed for one night, therefore, others may be better judges of the daily ambience.

While the hotel is dated, the quality of the room was excellent. Free WIFI is always a plus! The hotel gym was fantastic, and with lots of space and equipment. There is a sign in front of the hotel that indicates overnight parking for $12, but the front desk told me it has since been raised to $20. Ummm, no. I recently stayed for four nights. Pros: 1. Staff was warm, helpful, and hardworking. 2.Location-Metro was close, located in urban area. 3. Conference rooms-Large and able to accommodate over 200+ students. 4. Breakfast-Quality food. 5. Beds-Comfortable Cons: 1. Hotel does look dated. 2. Shower water pooled at feet in tub. 3. Gym did not have free weights only dumbbells. 4. Renovations are ongoing. 5. Price-I would not have paid for this hotel-I am excited to see hotel after upgrades.

As expected , this is a first class hotel, located at the center of Bethesda, close to a number of good restaurants and shopping. I think it is convenient for a visit to Washington D.C. being right on the Metro red line, while at the same time being away from downtown. Rooms are very good, and the lobby is nice. The only thing I will never get used to is the standard boring hotel breakfasts served in plastic and styrofoam. Why can't American hotels serve proper breakfasts, European style?

Caution: As of late June 2016, this hotel is under heavy renovation construction. Plastic sheeting and plywood barriers are everywhere, and the overall Hyatt experience is significantly diminished. If you're just looking for a room in which to crash at night, it's fine. The hotel was under construction, so I don't quite know what to say regarding normal operations. It was exponentially worse than I'd ever seen during construction. Drilling into the walls/concrete during presentations, mice running around in conference rooms, awkward navigation in the hotel, and to top it off, my room key didn't work and the water was turned off for 4 hours during the conference. The conference was great, but really poor planning for construction during a conference.

I was not aware that the hotel was undergoing a complete renovation until I arrived - no mention of on-going construction on the hotel's web site at all! Shame on me for not reading the reviews before booking. I normally do, but, had stayed at this hotel previously and it was adequate. This hotel should not even be open in it's current condition. It is truly a construction zone, including the front drive, parking garage, atrium, etc. There is a fine dust everywhere that probably would not pass EPA guidelines. Only half of the elevators work, and the place is a mass of temporary walls and confusing detours.
