We stayed here for 4 nights while my husband attended a conference in town and I visited family in Towson. We chose it because it is a short walk from a Light Rail. The hotel sits at the top of a hill. The grounds are beautifully manicured. Our room, 320, was spacious with a balcony with view of a fountain and the octagon building. It was peaceful and quiet. The breakfast included hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal and baked goods. The coffee was Starbucks and was good. The staff were pleasant and... Read more

Very nice atmosphere and staff was very kind as well. Rooms were clean and ours had a balcony. Everything was up to date and working. Perfect distance to everything we needed. Free up front parking. Will definitely stay again.

Pluses - convenience of being outside of inner harbor; clean rooms; quiet location; nice grounds. Minuses - kind of institutional and a little dated; not much happening in walking distance. If you're in Baltimore for a reason other than leisure, this is a fine option for a place to park easily (and free) and rest. It's not posh, but it's safe and serviceable. Had some issues with WiFi (certificate type challenges) and the breakfast was way over hyped in the online descriptions, but it served... Read more

it never would have occurred to me to stay here if my friends had not picked it. I stay at conference hotels enough with my job! But this was convenient and the prices good so we booked it. When we checked in the noise in the lobby was really loud. The stairwell is open so when there are meetings the noise carries. I asked for a room as far as possible away from the noise as they could give me. (I needed a nap and probably looked it.) They put me in the historic octagon. It was very interesting... Read more

We live in Maryland and our niece's wedding is May 21, the same day as the Preakness and several college graduations. We made the reservation in November. 2015. Valled and told them it would be a late check in because of a rehearsal dinner. Arrived at about 10:30p. I dropped my wife off at the locked front door, so I could park the car. An apparent roving gang of hooligans was in the lot. Not a good sign. I made it to the hotel, and the fun began. They had two reservations for us, one for two... Read more

My daughter was starting a job at Johns Hopkins and found the Conference Center on JHU page. What a magical spot, perfect room, great continental breakfast, FREE parking and on the light rail! What more could you ask for? Great staff.

I was kinda forced to stay at the Mt. Washington conference center, as I belonged to a group that was meeting there for a few days. In preparation for my trip i did my due diligence by looking at TripAdvisor reviews. I was at first a little disappointed, after reading the many recent so-so TA reviews prior to my stay. I was really lowering my expectations so as not to be disappointed. My experience was far different than the negative reviewers. Maybe it was the lower expectations from all the ... Read more

The first night we got there the air conditioner wasn't working. Room was mildly unpleasant the first night. Turns out it was it even turned on. So the maintenance guy came and fixed it. But it was during one of the hottest days of the summer. Nice hotel and friendly staff but if you don't have a car it's a real hassle to get around Baltimore.

Quiet, reasonable, beautifully maintained oasis, perfect for visitors to Loyola Univ. or Towson. I stumbled on this gem a couple of years ago, and always seek it out for an occasional overnight while visiting my Loyola student. Continental breakfast is ok, bolstered by Starbucks coffee.

Room was dark. Carpets, curtains, and upholstery were spotted , dirty and torn. There was exactly one ice machine for the entire hotel and difficult to find. Continental breakfast area had two sets of tables and chairs and a few dirty, torn upholstered chairs. Some of our party had no ice bucket. the coffee was not replaced. No glassed!!! our room was finally cleaned after 5:30 PM - actually straightened up - not cleaned. Linens were at a minimum, difficult yo get replaced. I've stayed at... Read more

We stayed in the Octagon building, which could have been really cool. We pulled up to the building after checking in only to find that the building was locked. After walking down the hill to the lobby, we were told that we could only access the Octagon through a hallway from the main building and then an elevator or stairs to the rooms. Isn't that something you should probably tell people when they're checking in??? When we got to the room, it was evident that they had not renovated in quite so... Read more

Great way to reach the summit if you can't drive up (ie afraid of heights). Plan ahead the weather can be dreadful. For more information see my post on Mt. Washington road trip. Don't miss the visitor center at base of railroad.
