Exceptionally convenient for those visiting Johns Hopkins University's Homewood Campus, especially for lacrosse games, the Inn at the Colonnade is a great option. Relatively small in size and with limited but good facilities, the primary appeal is the close proximity to a primary Johns Hopkins' undergraduate and graduate location. The rooms overlooking "Homewood" are particularly of interest to parents of current students and "alums".

I was genuinely excited to stay at the Colonnade. After years of commuting past it, I had the impression from the exterior, the lobby, and its location (adjacent to Hopkins Homewood Campus) that it was a classy, high-quality hotel. Unfortunately, my husband and I had a lackluster experience. The staff were a mixed bag; some would smile, but many others would act aloof, and one failed to follow through with a request. Our biggest disappointment was our guest room, which faced out the back of the... Read more

We had a beautiful spacious room with a balcony. It was convenient to Johns Hopkins, in fact it is right at the edge of the campus, and an easy walk to many restaurants. The staff is friendly and offered us a warm chocolate cookie upon arrival.

May not be a 5 star hotel, but it definitely makes up for it in service. The room was nice and clean, and when we needed the housekeeping crew to clean up they did an outstanding job. The location of the hotel was also ideal and very accessible to the places we wanted to visit.

Did not offer a lot for the money. Not even coffee . Good location . No one except the valet man went out of his way to make you fell welcomed. They would not engage in conversation at the front desk. I just felt like a number.

Stayed one night for a running event at the zoo the following morning. The parking staff at the front came off as snide and unhelpful but the front desk staff members were nice. The room was decent with plenty of space. The gym was lacking and seemed to be an afterthought. Parking was easy, but expensive. Great vegetarian restaurant next door. Overall a decent stay.

The toilet ran all night. The vending machines refused to take the bills I got from the registration desk. The gift shop closed at 6 pm. The closest convenience store is a filthy deli 2 1/2 blocks away one negotiates at night through an iffy neighborhood.

This Hilton hotel is directly across the street from the Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus. The hotel was quiet, clean, and the staff was very helpful. The hotel sits on University Avenue, which is in walking distance to the Charles Village area (many shops and eateries). We plan on returning to Baltimore in August, and plan on staying here again.

There are very few hotels near JHU, and the Colonnade is pretty much the old standby. The place is decent, but nothing to write home about. The bathroom was cramped, and totally lacking in hooks or towel bars. The soap was nice, but the shampoo sample was in a cheap little container that was stuck shut -- I had to actually get out of the shower to find something to pry it open. The desk in the room was tiny, and the walls were really thin so I could hear the actual words in neighbors' conver... Read more

The parking garage needs to be upgraded along with some of the decor in the lobby, but the hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly/accommodating. The location is perfect for a quite night's rest. Several boutique eateries are in the area near Johns Hopkins' undergraduate campus (across the street) and within walking distance. Parking near the restaurants is a hassle, so walking would be best if you're up to a 1-2 mile stroll with beautiful sights to see.

We were a family of 4 and got a 2-room suite (1 king bed, 1 queen pullout couch). The king bed was great, the pullout couch really not comfortable for anyone but a small child (which is fortunately who we had sleeping on it). The staff was really lovely and addressed all our questions and needs. Very quick check-in and check-out. The room had little quirks. Standard US chain hotel, slightly in need of updating. The hotel is very conveniently located for JHU, and the available rates vary tremendously depending on whether you have a special university rate (very good value) or not (quite expensive). Breakfast is ok (standard US chain hotel breakfast). Coffee in the coffee shop in the lobby is poor. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. WIFI was free and reasonable speed. If you're visiting JHU or the local area, there is no better hotel to stay at.

Close to inner harbor and I83. Quiet neighborhood. A true gem of a location. Did not know this location existed until I went to book a Hilton property in Baltimore as a result of a Hilton promotion. Glad I did. Even though it was not within walking distance to inner harbor, the location was worth it. Surprised there weren't more people staying there... perhaps the word hasn't gotten out. I looked back at a review I wrote last time I was here and realized that my earlier complaints were not room-specific. Loudest air conditioning I've ever experienced, and, as it was in the 90s while we were there, the unit was on all night (until my wife turned it off early in the morning claiming she couldn't sleep). Weirdly inconsistent rooms--nice large room, with tiny bathroom. Granite walls in the bathroom, but Motel 6-type tubs. Still, about the only place for easy access to Hopkins.

Room was poorly appointed. There were only two electrical outlets - to charge a phone required unplugging a lamp. Most hotels (even budget-friendly ones) have a small refrigerator. This did not. Basic appointments that you find in a hotel today were lacking. For example, what hotel room doesn't have a hair dryer in the bathroom? There were only two glasses in the room (the bathroom, to be specific). What if three people wanted to drink something? As for the vending machine, it had no diet drinks... Read more

Our stay was fine and the employees were very nice. The rooms are a bit dated but the price was low and the location to Johns Hopkins (right across the street) was great. The bedroom toilet looks like it's from the 80s and flushes slowly, for example, and the bathroom fan makes a ton of noise (as does the mini fridge), but these aren't "problems", just things I noticed. The lobby looks very nice, and the staff are friendly.

The bar and restaurant were great. This is my second visit to this hotel and would definitely stay here again. I used Uber on the recommendation if the front desk. The ease of traveling from the hotel to the inner harbor was excellent.

It has been a month since my stay at the Colonnade and I am looking forward to returning in two weeks for Hopkins Family Weekend. When I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted so warmly and welcomed back. The front desk team, with James at the forefront, are so wonderful and welcoming, it is a pleasure to return there. From the valets, who were happy to get us a bottle of cold water, to the reception, who arranged for us to stay in an alternative room because the one we were assigned to smelled lik... Read more

Inflated prices for average quality and service. Was there at a busy time for medical reasons. The reception staff is indifferent and sometimes you are not sure if they actually are staff by appearance. The Concierge staff were pleasant as were bartenders and wait staff. Overall I would not repeat a stay at this hotel at the rates they charged. Not much consideration for guests.

The Doubletree Inn at the Colonnade is across the street from Johns Hopkins' playing fields in an attractive neighborhood. The staff are very friendly, gracious and helpful. They are outstanding at making guests comfortable and addressing questions and needs. There is a good restaurant in the hotel as well. The rooms are clean, the bed comfortable, and it was a nice stay for a family event in Baltimore. Although the hotel book says there is a safe in the room, there is not. There is valet p... Read more

We've stayed in several Doubletree suites in the past and have had a great experience. We were disappointed in this suite - no TV in living room, no fridge, small rooms, and some confusion over parking costs. Overall, it was a nice place - - just disappointing for our needs and compared to others of that brand.

Booked a family suite because we were told that was the only room available at the time of booking. Booked 2 nights, but was never told we had to cancel before 3:00 pm on the day before we arrived. My husband was unexpectedly called into work for Monday morning(four hour ride home). When I tried to cancel the second night, I was told we could not! The place was empty! I was disappointed, to say the least, upon arriving at this hotel. The welcome was unfriendly and the room assigned to me was unacceptable. It took me an hour to settle on a room. The General Manager was impertinent and unhelpful; indeed, when I told him that the rom assigned to me was not a LARGER Queen bedded room he in effect called me a liar, saying that the hotel did not offer "larger" Queen rooms. When I went up to the lousy room assigned to me to bring to him my reservation with the speci... Read more

No rollaway beds were available ("we got rid of them all")and the pull out sofa was horrendous. Staff had no solution and shrugged their shoulders when asked for assistance. I haven't stayed at the doubletree in years. As they say location location location, it's really the only nearby hotel to JHU homewood campus. It's a small hotel - only 2 floors. There's a very minimalistic gym. There is no concierge floor or lounge. I always seem to have noise problems. This time people were coming in and out up to 2am speaking loudly.
