Fabulous renovation of an architectural gem located in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore. I stayed here because of business in the state office buildings right across the street and found it to be absolutely perfect. Breakfast is in a sunny basement room - yes you heard that right! - and had all my favorites: granola, yogurt, a fancy espresso machine and real juice. Great wifi and a lot of close by restaurants. Good thing the restaurants are close by though because Baltimore is a crummy... Read more

We stayed overnight in May, 2016, in a superior king guestroom. The room and bathroom were small, the one chair in the room (a straight chair at the desk) was very uncomfortable, and the wooden floors creaked loudly whenever anyone walked on them - in our room, a neighbor's room, or a room above us. The included continental breakfast was what Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inns used to serve before they improved their menus. The only positive was the fairly comfortable king-sized bed, five pill... Read more

I stayed at Hotel Brexton while visiting Johns Hopkins University. I moved there from a much bigger and more corporate hotel and found Hotel Brexton much more to my taste. I had a nice corner room on the 5th floor with a view across the neighborhood and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel was quiet while I was there and I did not hear much from my neighbors. The room was capacious with a closet, an armchair and a desk and the bathroom was a good size too and had a window that opened - the only... Read more

This was recommended by MICA as a place for parents to stay during graduation. They had MICA art up on the walls. We had a great stay - the property is in an historic building that has great charm, and the people who work at the desk are more than willing to help. Everything seems old, in a good sense, except when it didn't work - such as the in room coffee maker and the TV. But somehow these became details within the greater sense of history, charm and personal attention. We would certainl... Read more

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Brexton over Memorial Day weekend because we were attending an event at the Maryland Zoo. I so much enjoyed my stay at the historic Hotel Brexton. Felt like I was in Europe and loved the marvelous staff who only added to the experience. Milton DeVaughn was amazing. He came out of the hotel and walked a block looking for me. Milton greeted me as though I was royalty. Milton was a pleasure and introduced me to the hotel with all its history and charm . A wonderful stay. Europe close to home.

The staff was great. The building was beautiful. Some of the artwork was a little unusual. I had difficulty going up the stairs to the entrance of the hotel, but I understand the need for architectural integrity. We couldn't get the coffee maker to work, but staff showed us where to get coffee. We left at 3:30 am to get to the airport, and staff was pleasant and friendly and helped us get our luggage out.

Went to Baltimore to visit Mica and attend their open house. Stumbled upon Hotel Brexton as the location was walking distance to Mica and had been recommended by Mica. I had flown in from LA and was exhausted upon arrival and was greeted by the friendliest most helpful hotel staff ever. I felt as if I was a long lost family member coming home. The Hotel Brexton is rich in history and the design and eclectic management style makes this the queen of the Arts district.
