So I can start off with one positive note. We were attending a wedding and the hotel was nice enough to allow for an early check in. Which I thought was a great start to my first trip back to IHG in a while. I thanked them over the phone while we were on our way up and confirmed the early check in. When we arrived, that is when the problems started. First, the agent wasn't engaging at all. She was sitting down upon arrival and never bothered to get up to greet us or talk to us. Only when ... We were there for shopping at LLbean. This hotel was great. The beds were really good to sleep in. Front desk was friendly, housekeeping was nice also the women in the breakfast room was nice. Breakfast was good they had hot items there that changed each day. The room was also nice and clean. We had the first room closer to the side door. The key worked on the outside door but we had a problem with it when we entered the room. Spoke to the front desk upon leaving and she was going to have someon... Read more

We had just stayed at a hotel with uncomfortable beds, so when we tried out these beds it was like laying on a cloud! I got a great night's sleep. The hotel is very nice and clean. The pool was small, but fun for the kids because they got it all to themselves. The breakfast choices were a pleasant change with actual hot items offered and their famous cinnamon rolls.

Very disappointed that the hotel chose early June to do both their interior and exterior renovations. Should have been done during known off season. The pounding at 9am was too much. I chose to sleep with friends nearby a few days just for some peace. Aside from that, one 2 different occasions the meat was bacon and way undercooked. Not edible. Signs for being "green" inconsistent with housekeeping. The sign says to leave all towels you 'd like replaced on floor. I would leave it on hook on ba... Read more

This Holiday Inn was minutes from LL Bean and the shopping areas. The property was clean, and accommodated an early check-in request without issue. Easy parking around the hotel. The breakfast was standard Holiday Inn with plenty of tables. The property was undergoing construction, but was not really an issue since we were out most of the day.

We chose this Holiday Inn Express because of it's convenient location to both Portland and Freeport. The room was clean, beds comfortable, and a good selection (and seating) for the free breakfast. Near the shopping outlet and within 10-15 min. of downtown Portland. Would stay again.

Hotel just finished getting renovated and it is better then ever. We love the pool and hot tub and the staff is #1. The breakfast in the morning is also great compared to other hotels. We have stayed at the Hampton Inn in the past but this hotel is not only cheaper but better all around. We will be back for sure.

Stopped here without a reservation. Probably cost some money but the location matched the need to stop for the night. The place is very clean and representative of the better ones carrying the name Holiday Inn Express. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Encountered no issues whatsoever despite the repair work (new siding on the outside of the building) underway. This is exactly what you should expect and get from a Holiday Inn Express. This is a great hotel, the staff were very nice the room was excellent larger than expected. Free breakfast. Great for shopping. Only negative point was dogs are allowed and the next room to us was occupied by someone with a dog that barked constantly when it was left on its own, like most of the evening and at 2 am. Both night, apart from that I could not fault the hotel. I think they should insist no pets are left in the rooms alone, out of respect for other guests.

We spent two nights here on our return trip from Bar Harbor. The exceptional thing about the stay, the thing that drove this to 5 stars in my mind, was the breakfast! We had spent 5 nights at a very high end place in Bar Harbor that included breakfast. This was better! Crazy, huh? And it was just a lot better than you usually get at the Holiday Inn. Nothing fancy. There is a lot of road noise at this hotel. Very close to a main highway. The beds were not comfortable like they usually are at the Holiday Inns we are used to staying in. We reserved our room 6 months in advance because we like to get a suite so I can watch television while my husband goes to bed. They did not have the room I reserved and gave us a regular King room. We had a one night stop over here on our way down the coast of Maine. It's impersonal as you might expect from a big chain (check-in was polite and helpful) but the facilities make up for that.
