Came to Freeport on 5/14/16 for one night with friends for shopping. The Hilton Garden Inn Freeport is super clean and comfortable with a great staff. Every staff member I encountered during my stay was so friendly. The hotel is walking distance to all of the shopping. We had breakfast Sunday morning before checking out and it was delicious with excellent service! Also close by is the Bow Street Market, great store for wine and spirits, baked goods, and prepared foods! My friends and I all a... Read more

Very convenient location to local shopping. Very walkable if you don't mind inclines as streets leading up to shopping are steep. Pleasant neighborhood. Staff are very friendly. Hotel met our needs. Room was clean and accommodating. Nice to have in room fridge and microwave. Beds were ok. I prefer a harder mattress. Others in our party thought they were great. We did have breakfast in lobby. Was a plus to get it there so we could start in on our day without going out to restaurant. Menu was sati... Read more

Highly recommended. Probably the best hotel stay we have ever had and would not hesitate to return. Very, very clean and an extremely friendly staff. When we first arrived and saw the train tracks outside our window we were concerned but the trains are quiet and run only during the day.

Room felt very clean. Sleep number comfortable bed. Staff was very responsive and helpful. they helped me to print out a document I could not access on their computer. I emailed it to them. Freeport is a nice place to visit. The hotel location was so convenient right in town. could walk to restaurants.

My husband and I spent the weekend here. The hotel is very clean, the employees very friendly and the location to shops and restaurants is unparalleled. The Keurig coffee maker is a definite plus, as is the mini-fridge. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property, and we are hoping to return for another visit soon. We had a view of the Amtrak train from our room, but it wasn't at all noisy. The hotel offers a 'quiet package' for those that may be bothered by the sound - nice touch!

We travel often, and have stayed at most hotel chains, this location/hotel is tops in our eyes. The staff was great, very polite and very quick in doing their jobs. The pool was nice and the hot tub was great. Parking was easy and close to the door. The room was EXTREMELY comfortable, wonderful bed and everything was working and clean. We loved the location, and everything surrounding this visit. The breakfast was just what we wanted. A little pricey, but well worth it. Thank you.

Drove up to Freeport for a day of shopping and walking the downtown area, and wanted a decent place to crash, before driving back home in the morning. Based on the good reviews here I booked a room through Expedia. Check in was fast, room was ready, pleasant desk clerk, lobby areas and corridors were clean and uncluttered. Room was very well presented, clean, and backed up on the railroad tracks - Amtrak Downeaster traveled by twice, but it was barely noticeable and I actually looked up the... Read more

The big plus here is the hotel's convenient location within walking distance to Freeport' s shopping. The other plus was the breakfast (not included with our reservation). Great breakfast made to order. The hot food was made to order, the rest of the food was available as a buffet. Nicely done. Staff very pleasant.

I love Freeport for shopping, and had a day to do some. I booked the hotel on line. When I arrived it was charming from the start, the room was great! loved the pillows. I was worried about the sounds that could come from the train tracks right behind the hotel. Actually my room faced the tracks and the building. I slept soundly! did not hear a thing. The hotel is great for walking to the stores and restaurants, and the food their restaurant offered was really good.

The hotel is located a block off Main street, and just North of a wide open beautiful park. The trees and flowers all contributed to making it look special! Inside the dining floor was spacious and open. The wait staff just terrific. We enjoyed our coffee both mornings and our waitperson happened to be a veteran and she made our short visit special. Stayed there for 2 nights. Shopping and some sightseeing. The hotel was a block behind Main St near LLBean. It was quiet and less congested than being on Main St. The even number rooms face the front/patio of hotel; the odd numbers face back and side street (School). There is a train that runs behind the hotel but it's quiet and the noise was like a mere blip. It doesn't run late at night. Rooms were nothing fancy but adequate and clean. Disappointing to say the least. After staying in three other hotels on my holiday, this final one was a let down. The breakfast option is all you can eat, but there is no continental option, for a cheaper price. The lighting in the rooms is all from side lights, there are no overhead lights. Finally there are no safes in the rooms, you have to use safe deposit boxes in the managers office.

This property is conveniently located in the center of Freeport close to the outlet stores and great places to eat. The hotel is well maintained and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. The hot breakfast offerings are made to order and are delicious. Can't remember when I stayed at a chain hotel and had such a pleasant and trouble-free experience.

The staff, including Amber and Sylvia couldn't be more friendly, they make the stay extra nice. The restaurant food is as good as it gets, not typical hotel food. Great Location, great Hotel, very friendly staff (Brandon at the check in). The only downside this time was the room. Tow nights (out of five) my night Shirt was sitting on the floor in a Corner next to the night stand, like it was thrown there and an extra blanket just sat on the bed (not folded). Stayed one night on the way home from northern Maine. I have stayed in many HGIs for business. This one needs a redo. Typical HGI although the smell is awful. The air from the air conditioner is horribly musty and the room smells heavily of a sickening cleaning solution. I think it may be covering up smokers. HGIs are my favorite....but this was nothing like others that I've experienced. First of all, the hotel is directly next to train tracks-- and it is LOUD. The hallway and rooms felt and looked old and dingy. What killed it for me was the outrageous chemical smell in the hallway and rooms. Not a great value @ $200+/night for a Thursday in September, but Hilton Garden Inn consistently pleasant stop on way up/down the Maine coast. Rooms very clean and good size. Staff has always been professional, knowledgeable and welcoming.

The rooms were clean, the hotel appeared nice. However, the rates were a little high, considering that you still need to pay for breakfast. Other hotels offer the same quality of room and hot breakfasts for free. Staff was not kind. I asked a question and after he sighed, I was made to feel that questions were not welcome.

HGI's are our preferred hotel for vacation travel. This one is a short walk to LL Bean and all the outlet stores. Room was clean. Breakfast was good. Only issue was some noisy people in hall in the wee hours of morning. Called the front desk and they immediately took care of it. Was higher priced than normal locations but I'm sure its a market driven price.

The hotel staff is wonderful. They are very friendly and make you feel like family. Everything is within short walking distance. They have a short order cook for breakfast, so you can have omelettes your way

I always enjoy this chain of hotel. I know I am going to get very good service and a clean room. I was pleasantly surprised to see entertainment by the bar at this location on Tuesday night. Nice touch!

I'm always eager to try a hotel or restaurant after a year or so, and test out whether anything has changed. On this second stay at the Freeport Hilton -- which had been excellent the first time -- we were pleased to discover that their service and amenities surpassed our expectations. On our checklist, all the basics were easily met. The location is perfect. Our room was clean and bright. Mattresses were firm, pillows clean and lofty, and the linens were bright without itchy lingering chlo... Read more

Nice place to stay in Freeport. Clean, quiet and comfortable, lived up to HGI expectations. Short walk up the hill to LL Bean and other shopping. Refrigerator in the room is always a nice thing. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but they seem to be all the same throughout the chain. With so many good places to eat nearby, why would you eat at the hotel? We had a two room suite, don't know if we were upgraded or selected this. I do know that when I booked the room, there was not much to cho... Read more

This was our first time staying in Freeport. We usually stay at Hampton properties, but the location was very convenient - a short walk to the shops and LL Bean. The HGI is a bit pricey, but you are paying for the location. As comes standard with HGI, the breakfast is NOT complimentary, but a full restaurant is available. There was ample, complimentary parking across the (quiet) street The staff was very friendly. As a HH member, we were upgraded to a suite. The hotel was very clean, alth... Read more

Hilton Garden Inn did a great job with our wedding! Kristen Traknis, the event coordinator, was organized and experienced. The hotel is beautiful. Even when it rained and we had to cancel or ceremony in the park, the old town hall was the perfect place for the ceremony. The event center is perfect for all wedding sizes. Would recommend to any engaged couple!

We stayed here for one night with our two teenagers on a quick jaunt from Boston to Freeport over the long weekend. We had a pleasant stay and will definitely keep it on the list for future visits. I like Hilton hotels in general and this one is no exception. Check in was fast ,easy, and efficient. The staff we met throughout our stay were friendly, helpful, and professional. They provided us with recommendations, directions, and maps for local state parks. We enjoyed the recommended hikes very... Read more

Super location just a 5 minute walk to LL Bean flagship and downtown shops. Very nice staff, pretty setting and lobby very nice. Tip: take your coffee on bench by entrance to see sunrise over trees if you wake up early. My only qualm was that our room's Windows didn't open (maybe for security but it was on top floor) so we couldn't get fresh air and felt the room was a bit musty and warm even w/the air on. Also, if you are offered an upgraded room ask them if it's one of the handicapped rooms an... Read more

You cannot go wrong at the Garden Inn. Large suites, great breakfast buffet cooked to order and excellent high speed internet. On the high side price wise, but you get what you pay for and it keeps out the riff raff.

We stayed at two Hilton's on our long road trip, and will definitely return to this one and consider booking at more Hiltons from now on. No wonder it is # 1 of 11 on Tripadvisor! The service was excellent, everything worked, and it was within walking distance of LL Bean. The bathroom was huge and we liked that it was shower style and very easy to get in and out of, with a nice showerhead. They gave two free water bottle vouchers which was a nice touch, since most charge ridiculous prices ... Read more

We just finished our stay in Freeport and we were glad to have stayed at the Hilton. Thanks to our rewards card and AAA our king sized room was more affordable. The hotel is located one street behind main street. So, it's right down the street from LLBean. We love walking and it allowed us to roam the streets of Freeport. We didn't bring our bathing suits so we didn't swim in the typical hotel pool. Breakfast in the morning was reasonably priced and good for a hotel. So, if you want to st... Read more

The decor in this hotel is a little dated, but the grounds themselves are lovely. The staff is warm and friendly and very eager to help with anything and everything. There is a great communal area outside to the right of the lobby with chairs and a fire pit. Can't beat the location, one block away from all the shops and a great local market.
