Bridging the French Quarter and the Faubourg Marigny neighborhoods, the Frenchmen Hotel offers everything you thought a trip to New Orleans could and should be.
Over the past decade, “The Marigny” neighborhood has emerged as the city’s center for music, the arts, and incredible food.
The New York Times has described Frenchmen Street, the Marigny’s main drag, as standing in “happy rebellion” against the tourist swarm in the French Quarter, and a “…fantastic place to hear great music and meet local people, both of which spill out of the clubs and into the street.”
Just a half block outside the French Quarter, we are only steps from all your favorite locations such as the famous French Market, Bourbon Street, and Jackson Square. Our close proximity to the Riverfront Streetcar also allows easy access to the Convention Center, City Park, and Garden District.
Each of our rooms is uniquely appointed with antique furniture and décor. All rooms vary in size and decoration and are simply loaded with character. Some special features include exposed brick walls, decorative fireplaces, canopy beds and other period accents. Some rooms also feature private balconies overlooking vibrant Frenchmen Street.
Many of our rooms open onto an Old New Orleans brick courtyard with marble and wrought iron tables, lush tropical plants, swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Lounge around the pool or head up to our newly renovated rooftop patio to take in some sun.
Now under new management, The Frenchmen Hotel is currently upgrading many of our amenities. Improvements will include new flat screen televisions, down comforters, and fresh pastries and croissants delivered each morning from one of our local bakeries.
Come stay with us at The Frenchmen Hotel and enjoy a truly authentic New Orleans experience!
The Frenchmen Hotel offers a FREE Enhanced Continental Breakfast Daily, which includes coffee, tea, juice, hot and cold cereals, fresh fruit and fresh assorted pastries delivery each day.

Frances Montalvo from Fort Walton Beach, Florida had this to say:
"My husband and I took a 2 night 3 day trip for our anniversary to New Orleans. What a wonderful surprise the Frenchman is. Keeping a lot of the traditional New Orleans charm. This hotel is very good value for money. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything is within walking distance. Very good continental breakfast, I shall be returning."

C&M from arab, al had this to say:
"When we first pulled up to the hotel we thought we might have made a bad mistake booking here. When we saw the first room they were going to put us in for 4 nights, we were ready to go someplace else. However, the staff was excellent, very nice and accommodating. They put us in one of the best rooms which we loved. All of the staff and the manager were great and very helpful. The hotel is in a great location and within a walking distance of all there is to see. "

"loved the frenchmen hotel. the staff was so friendly and the rooms were cozy. the people staying at the hotel were friendly. the location is great...close enough to the french quarter to walk there but far enough away to avoid the crowds. some great restaurants in the area. had internet access the entire time which was a big plus for me"

A Recent Traveler from Panama City, FL had this to say:
"This hotel was probably very charming at one time. Mildew in bath and overall dirty and worn. The enhanced Continental Breakfast was toast, coffee, and cereal. On site parking is VERY limited and overflow is directed to another property 2 blocks away. The staff was very accommdating and understanding. With more attention to maintenance and cleanliness this could be a wonderful spot."

A Recent Traveler from Memphis, TN had this to say:
"For the most part, some sort of breakfast and secured parking definitely made this hotel worth it. The cleanliness of of the bathroom, with toothpaste on the faucet, bandaid wrappers on the floor and my husband saying 'eww... the shower floor is sticky' when he walked it made it an aggravation. Luckily I had brought flip flops with me, so showering was less icky, though kept at a minimal for the 2 of us.''There didn't seem to be much variety to the breakfasts, cereal, milk, juice, coffee and donuts (that pastries thing 'freshly delivered every morning' wasn't too applicable as the donuts could be seen stashed in their pantry each night. Plus, we were supposed to have an 'upgraded breakfast,' but everyone seemed to have the same thing... so not much of an upgrade, unless everyone was upgraded...? Eh, we wanted Nawlins breakfasts anyways, so go to Coops not far from the hotel (DELICIOUS SMOKED DUCK QUESADILLAS!)''Also, the internet never seemed to work, and had to be stolen from some other provider at a nearby location.''But really, we didn't plan to stay in the hotel for the entirety of the trip, and the beds were comfortable enough to crash on as the location was safe and very convenient to the excellence of the French Quarter and 13 blocks to the trolley (the blocks are short in Nawlins I found). ''If anything, you want a sumptuous quiet room, delicious breakfasts and very nice bathrooms (the toilets were clean at least, hurray), go to a resort."

A Recent Traveler from Mobile, Alabama had this to say:
"We were totally disappointed in our stay at the 417 Frenchmen. The suite we booked was unavailable. The so called 'upgrade' was a tiny, unkept, dark 12 x12 and smelled like the restroom at Lowes. 2 of three lights in the room did not work. Sofa was dirty. Bath was tiny and dark. Mirrors and glass looked like a three y.o. with a greasy rag wiped them down. Our room was extremely noisy from people yelling on the street until 4am and then garbage trucks at 5am. Our lock jammed & Mgmt had to let us out at 6;30am for coffee. This was alleged to be Mgrs favorite room. WHATEVER! I feel like we we were without a doubt baited and switched. My wife and I will NEVER stay in this property again."
