"We stayed 4 nights with our 11 and 12 year old kids in a queen loft room. It is definitely an older hotel and there is no elevator, but we found it charming, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. It's about halfway between the French Quarter and the Garden District and very close to streetcar stops. There are also several good restaurants within walking distance - Mia's, Irish House and Emeril's. Overall, if you're expecting the Ritz, you'll be disappointed, but if you just need a fairly decent place to stay while you spend most of your time exploring the city anyway, then it's not bad at all."

"We stayed fours days and three nights after our 5 night cruise on Carnival. This is our second trip to NOLA so we haven't really gotten to know our way around the area yet. We were a little concerned when it looked like the cab driver was taking us into a 'shadier' part of town. When we pulled into the parking lot my wife actually said 'what have you gotten us into.' However, the exterior looks of the hotel are deceiving. We were some of the first people off the ship so we got to the hotel before 9:00. I had called ahead to ask if they could store our luggage until the room was ready while we loitered around the vicinity. They actually let us check in at 9:00 a.m. because the room was ready! The room was clean and well-maintained. The staff friendly and helpful (more about that later.) The free continental breakfast was served in an open area but was very enjoyable and plentiful (don't wait until 8:00 though because they will run out of yogurt and fruit.) The street car stop is only a short distance away (you should try the Voodoo BBQ at the stop.) We checked out early on our last day and the staff let us store our luggage while we ate Sunday brunch at Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro (to die for.) The front desk called a taxi for us but we had to wait almost 2 hours (Saints were playing a home game.) In my frustration, I left one of our cases behind when the taxi finally came. I discovered this when we were checking our luggage at the Amtrak station. The nice lady called another cab to transport the case to the station for us (we are so grateful for her help!) No pool, no fitness room, no jacuzzi/hot tub, free safe parking, free wireless internet, free continental breakfast, no elevators (2-story), friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms. Thank you again!"

"Hotel was in a great location just a block from the trolley - with a direct route to the French Quarters. Hotel was basic, but nice and the free parking made it an excellent value. Will definitely stay again!"

"The Staff was so very nice. The bedroom was nice,simple, but nice . The bed slept well, & was clean nice linens.

THE BATHROOM WAS HORRIBLE!

I can't imagine who said this was a 3 star hotel. Maybe a 2.The bathroom had broken tiles in floor around toliet, chipped tiles everywhere. Bath tub was a nightmare. Black in bottom of tub. The trim is pulled down & falling off vanity. The holes around plumbing under vanity is large enough for me to pu my hand in.

I don't mind older hotels, but they need to be kept up. THE ONLY REASON TO STAY IS FOR STAFF. They are great. They really are helpful, as well as friendly , nice people. I really can't compliment them enough. They would be the reason to go back.

"It was out first visit to New Orleans and we were thrilled with the location and the friendly staff of the Prytania Park. The double queen loft room was perfect for two people. Even though as native Coloradoans we were dying of the humidity the AC kept the room extremely comfortable for sleeping. Bathroom was small but adequate and the fridge & microwave are great to have for your leftovers. Staff was extremely friendly and awesome at making recommendations for where to go. Half a block from the street car which made it easy to get most anywhere in N'Awlins. DEFINITELY would recommend to anyone!"

"Nice motel in good location. Clean. Free safe parking lot. Nice employees. The bathrooms were old and worn. The ceiling fan in our room was actually coming out of the wall. The picture for our queen room was a little decieving b/c it showed a table and chairs and made the room look bigger when actually it was just a desk, one chair and a bed. Love the loft idea though and nice free breakfast. "

"We recently came to New Orleans for a weekend getaway and chose this hotel for our stay. We can easily say this hotel was worth the trip. The room was clean, the staff very friendly and the streetcar was only a half block away. The off the street parking is right in front of the hotel and you have the feeling of complete safety. I highly recommend the hotel for anyone looking for a safe and comfortable place to stay!!!"

"room was wonderful!! we stayed in one of the historic rooms. furniture was beautiful, new tv, microwave and wifi access. the a/c was a bit too cold, and there was no refrigerator. other than that, the room was stupendous!!!!!!! incredibly clean. secured parking lot. hotel staff incredibly friendly!!!! would totally stay here again!!!!"

"This hotel appealed to us because it did not have the outrageous parking fees of the near French Quarter hotels.Parking was free in a secure lot.The front desk staff was awesome.The location was minutes from the St Charles trolley stop.I would describe this more as a motel than a hotel even though the rooms were inside a compound on 2 floors. It is a collection of joined old buildings on several narrow courtyards, which may or may not add to its charm.The exterior looks worn but our room was clean and well appointed.We had a queen loft
which consists of two small areas one of which is a loft connected by a spiral staircase.We had 4 adults and I would not recommend this room for that # of people, the lower area is too small for 4 people to congregate and the only area with a Tv.The beds were comfortable, the bathroom tiny.The continental breakfast was adequate.Overall the hotel was a good value by New Orleans standards,and I would return to the location."

"I am a native to New Orleans who moved away a few years ago. I recently visited for my 20th high school reunion and was not excited about the hotel chosen for us and the fact that we`d have to pay daily for parking and a daily fee for internet usage. I searched high and low for a place that was less expensive and that offered more amenities and decided to try Prytania Park Hotel. We fell in love! The staff was amazing, the rooms were very comfortable and the location was perfect! I loved being able to get my car whenever I pleased and having the trolley car 1 block away for the times we didn`t want to drive. The refrigerator was an added bonus for storing our delicious leftovers to heat up in the microwave for a late night snack. We won`t stay anywhere else from now on."
