"This hotel is in a great location. It's on Carondelet St which turns into Bourbon so for people who have a hard time with directions just walk out of the hotel and turn left, go down 2 blocks until you reach Canal. Right across the street is Bourbon! This was just an ok hotel. We didn't have a lot of money so for the price I really can't complain too much. They were in the middle of some updates to the lobby area when we were there - looked like some painting and replacing floor tiles. We stayed on the 4th floor. Our room was fairly clean, although it could really use some deep cleaning and fresh paint/new curtains. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable, no problems with the a/c which was great. They really only give you the bare minimum with towels and they are very thin small towels. Staff was friendly for the most part and helpful when we needed a cab called and a comforter for our bed. The reservation was under my name and I was asked for identification and a credit card. I handed it to the front desk employee and from that point on I was ignored. Instead of handing me back my credit card and i.d. she handed it to my partner. Instead of handing me the paper to sign, she handed it to my partner. Instead of giving me the room keys, she handed them to my partner. There was no eye contact and it was as if I wasn't even there anymore. That's probably my biggest complaint because I felt very offended. But to sum it all up...if you're on a budget, don't plan on spending much time in your room other than to sleep and looking for a place that's close to the french quarter this is an ok hotel."

"In the CBD 1 block from Canal ST. Pleasant staff, great location. The hotel is a bit worn. the 7th floor is quite nice but the 4th was a bit dingy. Rooms were OK and beds were comfortable. Overall a reasonable price for a crowded NOLA weekent crash pad"

"Very poor condition of the hotel. Inexperienced but pleasant staff. Inadequate elevator. They tried hard but not at all up to minimum standards."

"In a word, the hotel is a DUMP. The rooms are small and the floors uneven. They give you the minimum number of towels and the towels themselves were threadbare at best. The elevator moves at the speed of a glacier. They said there were safes in all rooms but when we asked they said they were in 'some' rooms. Our view was of a wall across the other side of the building...about 10 feet away. The staff tries hard but cannot begin to keep up with all the guest complaints. Unless you were on a real budget, stay away."

"It was so bad that we checked out two days early. The room was not clean, filthy rug bath towels in terrible condition and house keeping service bad. Had to call almost daily for towels. No hot water for shower, we were told to turn water on in sink and tub because hotel not fully occupied and it would warm up. It did never got hot only luke warm. I had two bookings ,one room for two days and two rooms for four days. I understand new owners took over the hotel but the conditions were not good. The hotel should not have opened until everything was cleaned and in working order"
