"When we went to New Orleans for a birthday trip, we had trouble finding reasonable hotel rates. The Baronne Plaza was a great find. The hotel was in major renovation mode and several floors were under construction at the time. The staff was a bit 'different' some really helpful and some were very disinterested in helping. The first room we were given keys to had not been prepared for the next guests. Once we told the desk our problem they sent us to another room that was still under construction. The third room was dirty as well and sent us to a forth room. After dragging our luggage all over the hotel (thank-god for the wheel) this room was better. Asked that housekeeping clean it really well for us in the morning, when we returned from breakfast it was spotless. The king bed was actually really comfortable, the shower was great. Rooms varied in size each one we went to got smaller as we went along. The area looks sketchy but we felt really safe walking from the hotel one short block to the Quarter. Check out some of the beautiful buildings in the area and the AMAZING Church half a block from the hotel heading towards Canal st. on Baronne. "
