O. Shugard from natchez, ms had this to say:
"We stay in New Orleans twice a month and are thrilled with this new find. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The property is clean and nicely decorated with very comfortable beds and nice showers. The room had cold A/C and no musty smell. Very quiet to be on St. Charles Ave. It is close to good restaurants with sushi happy hour, great late pizza place, and a fun old 24 hour bar with a huge selection of beers. The street car is just outside the door for $1.25. We saw a Shakespeare play at Tulane U for $6.50 and went to the Arts Fair on Saturday morning. There was a free parking at this place too. We have already rebooked for our next stay. Keep up the good work!"

Frankie and Kit from Houston, TX had this to say:
"We went to New Orleans on a whim without hotel reservations, and stumbled upon this charming little hotel on St. Charles Avenue. It looked and felt more like a home than a hotel, which we loved. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly smile, and shown around. We were so excited that we found Avenue Garden Hotel. It has this very charming courtyard deck in the middle of the three old buildings that make up the hotel, and we always found ourselves relaxing there when we got back to the hotel. Each day we woke up to coffee and a continental breakfast, which we enjoyed in our very casual wake up attire, as did many other guests. It felt so homey. It was awesome. What a great place to enjoy the true feeling of New Orleans hospitality. We will most certainly be back. "

A Recent Traveler from Lake Charles, LA had this to say:
"This hotel had a really nice staff, eapecially the cleaning crew, but it wasn't very clean. There were a few characters that seemed really shady, I'm guessing they were also guests. I got the impression that they were up to no good. It made my friend and I feel uncomfortable, almost as if it were a drug house. We didn't feel safe. Otherwise, it was in a very lively spot, but the hotel gave us the willies."

Donnie from Little River-Academy, Texas had this to say:
"I've stayed in a number of hotels in the New Orleans area. Most are rather disappointing, some are downright nasty. I've stayed here several times when having to attend early meetings the next morning. If you are looking for a safe environment, friendly staff, fair rates and, clean rooms--look no further. It is nestled beween a B-B-Q resturant and a very good Pizza/Salad resturant. I believe it is a family owned hotel which would explain the reason the staff acts as they have a vested interest in your comfort and satisfaction. I'll definitely return to this hotel when having to stay in New Orleans. "
