Very decent hotel in a great location (safe and within walking distance to French Quarter, Canal Street or Riverside mall). Old, well kept and stylish. Most of the reception staff was VERY FRIENDLY and helpful. But there is a huge difference in rooms. First (since it was a busy weekend) they put us into a room facing the back (316). It was small and very dark, not mentioning "zero view". Then we were moved to 709 facing the main street and it was like a 3 star difference! Pics are from 709. Sam... Read more

Good hotel with friendly staff in a central location. Good Restaurent downstairs with decent breakfast. Did not like the condition of room due to old carpets which gave out an odour had to use air neutraliser, couch was old need replacing. No microwave or fridge which was a bit disappointing. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay

Close to everything. Comfortable beds and high pressure showers (hate when you need to stand in the shower for ages just to get rid of the shampoo) Verry friendly staff that helped us find to French quarter and the garden district.

Very convenient location but the room itself was old. Floor was sinking in some spots in the room and carpet was crumpled in several places. No microwave or fridge in our room so that was inconvenient as well. Other than that the location is spectacular!

The location was ideal: a short walk to the French Quarter and all of the streetcars to visit other parts of the city. The hotel is quite old, but the room was clean and well-kept. Quiet at night and bed was very comfortable. Free wi-fi good enough to stream from Netflix. No fridge; bathroom had quite poor ventilation; and there are only a few power outlets.

Very pleased with the hotel and our stay there. It was only for one night as we got on our cruise the next morning so my only regret is we didn't have more time. Beautiful place! If we are in the area again we will stay here again!

This is a renovated and repurposed bank building. Oddly, the main beautiful space of the bank lobby was cut up by a wall and generally unappealing as a restaurant and bar. The bar was closed overtime I checked. The suite we had was two rooms, one with a king and one with a queen bed. Comfortable, but you have to walk past the queen room to get to the bathroom. This suite had only one bathroom and no sitting room. So not exactly as expected. Very quiet. Nicely furnished. No fridge. Our card keys ... Read more

This is an old hotel in very good location. A 5 minute walk to Bourbon Street and Harrahs' Casino. A 15 min walk will get you to Caffe DuMonde and the French Market. Although old, the hotel is well kept and the staff is efficient. I found the room a little bit small, but confortable.

Stay at The Whitney to capture a sense of the history of New Orleans with its actual bank vault door decor, and location that is right in the heart of New Orleans great for business but close to the French Quarter for fun. It's clean, comfortable, has amenities, and is a great location, friendly too.

Hotel desk employees great customer service, upgrading us to a king/queen since we had a 2 year old along with me my husband, 8yr old and 3 yr old! Furniture was very dusty and didn't look like that had been addressed in a while. The maid jut walked in 2 diff times, didn't appreciate that too much, we could've been naked or something. Those are my only complaints

Room a little on the small side, but very well equipped and furnished, comfortable beds, large bathroom. Helpful receptionists and worth-to-see entrance/lobby area on first floor. Only AC was a little loud and windows could (of course) not be opened.

The hotel was charming, historic, clean and overall excellent. I loved it. The location is perfect because you can easily walk to the French Quarter, the Warehouse District, and the Garden District. Poydras Street is very underrated, too. The hotel staff was over-the-top awesome. I stayed at the Whitney for five days so I got a really good sample size. I've traveled to New Orleans a lot in the past two years. This was my favorite hotel yet.

Very accommodating staff. Competitive pricing for downtown N.O. convenient location. Comfortable room. Good food in restaurant. Broken exercise equipment. 'fitness club' is a bit of a misnomer. We can recommend this to anyone else for a good place to stay with great location for many attractions.

Friendly staff, very knowledgeable about local attractions. Provided me with various options when asked for vegan food. Room was clean & tidy, though the air-conditioning was a bit noisy. Would stay again if visiting New Orleans.

The overall level of service and comfort was very satisfying. On occasions, the noise level from other guest was loud, but that is to be expected. The service desk attendant (Earl) was exceptional and another young man who ensure that cold water was always available when the guest came in from the scorching heat.

I truly appreciated the service from Mr. Earl at the front desk, he is truly a Gem never fell short of greeting you with a pleasant smile and offering assistance as well inquiring if you are ok...the finest Southern Hospitality you will receive. Great value, comfortable beds and very friendly staff. I would definetly recommend this place to conference travellers or other visitors to New Orleans. Also things were for free (accepting packages, internet), where other hotels charge extra!

My friend and I stayed at the Whitney over NYE, and could not have been happier! The room was spacious and although the building is vintage, the room was updated with upscale bathroom finishings, the bed was more comfortable than most hotels I've stayed in. I didn't think linens were a big deal until I slept at the Whitney. Wow! So comfortable!! Tiffany at the desk was very accommodating, and super friendly, the staff helped us figure out the best deal for parking, as the Holiday was free park... Read more

Enjoyed our stay here. It was very relaxing. Loved the people working in the restaurant. They were wonderful. Would have liked more menu choices for breakfast. Missed not having a refrigerator in our room. The doormen were great.

I was there for the Essence Festival. We were within a mile from the French Quarter, convention center, superdome, and St. Charles streetcar. The Whitney is in the thick of it, but away from the noise. Clean, quiet. It was nice to come in from the heat to a treat of cold water and ginger snaps in the lobby.

Hotel was beautiful. Staff was very nice and very helpful. Room and bathroom was very clean. We had 2 double beds which mattresses could be newer but were satisfactory. Had to pay for parking each day but considering it is a requirement throughout New Orleans it wasn't extremely expensive.

The Whitney Hotel is close enough to the city without being in the middle of all the chaos. It was nice and quiet and the room was comfortable and clean. Smaller rooms but that's fine with us as long as it has everything you need. You can request a fridge if you need one as the room we had didn't.

In for a conference, found this hotel was running a bonus through online booking services (Hotels.com). Booked rooms for a single King and a two double bed. double room was bigger, King kind of cramped for two people. Overall, room was comfortable but no mini fridge. Bathroom was more spacious. You need to run the water for a while to get hot but then it is fine. Overall, all the staff was quite responsive, and very friendly. all quite helpful. I wouldn't have wanted to pay full price bu... What can I say? The price, quality, and location was perfect for a night in the French Quarter. The only drawback was the view from the hotel, which was a semitransparent window which I assume had a skyscraper on the other side. It's all good though because the room was clean, the restroom was comfortable, and the valet service was handy. There are also Ubers running right past the hotel at all hours of the day which makes traveling within the CBD or French Quarter really a breeze, especially if... Read more

Our family of four stayed in two rooms for an overnight stay to visit the WWII museum. It was a lovely stay. The hotel is built in the other side of the Whitney bank, so the walls are solid and quiet, and the air conditioning worked great, especially in mid-July. It is super convenient to the museum and the French Quarter--both less than a ten-minute walk, and there is a parking garage next door. Can't beat the staff for service, and the hotel is both historical and quaint. You can even eat in t... Read more
