"First off if you have kids check out the Teddy Bear Tea for the holidays. So we brought the kids to the tea and Grandpa took them home so my wife and I could have a night of shopping and fun. Both very close to hotel. The Roosevelt fit the bill in style. We have a history with the fine hotels and restaurants of New Orleans, as first timers at the Roosevelt we were both very pleased it lived up to the Waldorf brand.The room was excellent and the food choices outstanding. Now with all the great food in the city it says something that we ate twice at the same place. Service was excellent, staff very helpful. Check in was super easy.Parking was a bit higher but valet was super fast and had great attitudes. Cab service was easy as we went to see lights of City Park at around 25.00 round trip for two persons. Thumbs up plus!"

"This was last minute stay due to original hotel being damaged and unavailable. It was the only hotel left in the vicinity I wanted/needed. I required a 6 day stay as well.

This is not the kind of hotel I usually reserve, I like more freedom and less expense. That being said the hotel is lovely. An absolutely gorgeous treasure. A piece of history with many tales to tell. It would be perfect for those who want to splurge for a 1 to 2 day stay.

While it is terrific to have such a nice but small room with a great shower, turn down service compete with chocolate and robe, it seems obvious to me they are out to make as much money as possible from you. From no free Wifi to no coffee in room or frig. Fees for anything and everything you would want or need ($14.95 to $27 a day for Wifi) They want you to need to use their restaurants and room service. Not to mention a staff that is for the better part less than cordial. I had one nice pool man and one nasty. I had asked if the turn down service person was the same as the day before (so I could tip her) and could not get a direct answer. I even left housekeeping a note and tip and asked them the same question. The tip was gone, question unanswered. Not a hello from anyone. The man at the registration desk did me a favor after being put in an uncomfortable situation and for that I thank him. I asked for a room with a view and got rusty, dilapidated rooftops and the back of billboards. For the most part there was never a doorman. No help with luggage and so on. I was on my own. Not that I really mind a doorman missing all the time but for this type of hotel one would think they'd have one. Also went into the Sazerac to try the drink. Order was cheerfully taken, small drink $11. Never was asked if all was well if I wanted anything else, etc. Left a 4 dollar tip and not an eyelash was batted or a thank you uttered. I have had better service at a Clarion Inn. Maybe the room wasn't as nice but it was great to have assistance with suitcases, advice and general knowledge and suggestions. So yes it is gorgeous and luxurious but the staff could use some manners and the owners could throw in a frig, coffee maker and or Wifi and stop leaving threatening note cards on everything. In your key card holder there is a card that says welcome. Then it goes on for 2 paragraphs about the mini bar and how you'll be charged (a lot) even if you just empty it If you do this you will be charged, if you do that you will be charged. On and On.
It was nice to pamper myself with the luxury however it was not nice having to go get a coffee elsewhere and not have a frig or wifi. If you get a chance stop in their lobby. It is the best part of the place. Hopefully the staff will get friendlier."

"Born and Raised in New Orleans, I have a complete appreciation for all this majestic city has to offer. My husband and I love The Roosevelt and by far it has been our favorite get-a-way spot. You get a little of everything and then some with this beautiful hotel. Love, Love , Love!!!!"
