"Staff were great.
The room was clean but there was no place to put personal items, clothes and hygiene. We stayed in the room 1st floor, very noisy at night with people walking on the street and music from outside."

"The hotel is very old. The furniture and window coverings have not been updated in very very long time. The hotel felt dirty. I had a room in the front of the building with windows. That is not the issue for me. The bedding was clean and the staff cleaned the bathroom every day but the carpet/flooring was not clean and there was dust on the walls and in the venting.The bed was not comfortable. I woke with a back ache every day due to the old spring mattress. I did not like it as it was not comfortable for me. Parking is an issue at this hotel but it is in any of the hotels within the city proper. Expect to pay for parking!"

" THE hotel was worth it . Very close to the french quarter and the riverwalk. Only Four blocks from the trolley service. The resturant next door was also has good food. The room is a nice size. [ king suite]"

"Loved this hotel, spent a Sat. and Sun. during the French Quarter Festival. It was great, we have no complaints. Close to the festival and the aquarium. The room was clean and the beds were super comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The Red Slipper Cafe was also very good."

"The hotel is close enough to walk to all the French Quarter points of interests and far enough to get a peaceful night's rest every night. The bed was comfortable as well. The only problem we experienced was a slight mildew smell in the hallway."

"We just returned from the Final Four basketball tournament, and our stay at the Hotel. I booked in November due to the tournament being in New Orleans. Requested a room with a window. We arrived early and found our corner room on the fourth floor ready and waiting. Not one window, but three! The staff was very friendly and efficient. I would not hesitate to go back, nor would I hesitate to recommend to my family and friends. One caveat - this is an old hotel, and a small hotel - therefore it does have its quirks. "

"I have to say, the reviews I read before we left, made me a little nervous. However, we ended up having a really good time. This hotel is very old, and has only 60 rooms. It has the feel of an old vintage era. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We went during the last 3 days of Mardi Gras, so we knew the place would be packed. We were given a room our first night, that had no windows, Quite honestly, this was a little disappointing. It's MARDI GRAS!! We wanted to be able to look at the masses and parades! However, the next day, we stopped to ask if there were any rooms with windows available, and we were given another room right then. There are not many plugs in the rooms, and most of them didn't work. This was pretty much just an aggravation. We made do. I wasn't able to use the blow dryer they provided in our second room, because the outlet in the bathroom didn't work... The was a bummer, but again... I made do Since it was Mardi Gras, the hotel made it very clear that no loud partying would be tolerated, and you had ONE chance to calm yourself if anyone complained.. If you didn't, then you would be evicted... On the spot, and the New Orleans Police department would be escorting you. The front door was locked at 11pm, and you had to show your door key to get in. There were some loud folks every night, but nothing we had a problem with. There is yummy do it yourself coffee in the lobby.. and The Ruby Slipper that is connected to the hotel has delicious food.. All in all... a good experience"

You get what you pay for. Found the building mechanicals working just fine -Hvac.
Dissatisfied customers of the past probably went for the cheaper inner rooms without windows. Seems the hotel is under new managementduring Sept.2011. Desk staff were extremely helpful and even went the extra mile to please."

"Nice, clean hotel. Great location! But, you have to pay 'per day' to park in garage, and upon check out I was charged for a safe fee and another additional fee. I did not use the hotel safe or any other services during my stay. "
