"The hotel was very nice. We were able to walk to Bourbon St from the hotel.
The only complaint I have is that there are banquet rooms that connect to the hotel and there was a very loud party the night before we left. The music and people could be heard in our room as if they were just next door. It was terrible trying to rest for the next day's travel home. When I called to complain to the hotel, the manager was never in. The clerk claimed that the banquet rooms did not belong to them and they never knew when there might be an event. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet place to stay. YOU NEVER KNOW....And we were not even compensated for the inconvenience.
ALSO, you might want to know that they charge 30.00 per day just to park your car. RIDICULOUS!! Not sure why they wouldnt roll that price into the room as a part of the amenities. We were not happy that we had to pay $90.00 just to park."

"I enjoyed staying at the Lafayette. The room was comfortable, clean, and well decorated. Everything worked well. The location proved convenient--about five blocks to the Quarter, and right on the streetcar line. The restaurant was excellent and inexpensive. It did not serve breakfast, but a very good restaurant only a block away did. Other restaurants nearby were good, too. The staff of the Lafayette was helpful and efficient. Staying at the Lafayette helped make my visit to New Orleans a success."

"I was not happy with the hotel, t didn't look like the pictures on the internet. It was smaller than it looked. The rooms said they had views of the park,mine was of the ac unit. They showed a nice tv, it was small 20 inch tv and the remote did not work told front desk,but was never fixed. They way the distance showed was confusing on the paper it said 0 to french quarter but was atleast 5 or more blocks. The bathrooms needed work, the sink leaked,the walls and ceiling were cracked. The restraunt was to be Mike on Ave a fairly priced placed but was changed an expensive steak house.wE were told their was a parade on Friday and excited to go until we found out it was Sat. the day we left.When they brought us our car they didn't help was with our luggage. My first visit to LA was not great."

"I experienced the true New Orleans staying at the Lafayette! I would highly recommend to anyone!! Stayed in the 2nd Floor corner Balcony suite for 3 nights. Loved the giant french doors and the wrap around balcony. The view of Lafayette Park was breath-taking. Walking distance to much of the city! An $8 cab ride otherwise. I would live in this suite if I could! Beautiful, affordable, comfortable, charming!"

"We were very pleased with The Lafayette. It is only 4 or 5 short blocks to the French Quarters and about a 10minute walk to the Mississippi riverwalk.. The hotel is clean andd service is good.It would have been nice to�have at least a basic continental breakfast, but despit of this we would certainly stay on our next visit."
