"great location, room on the fifth floor on Bourbon street and very quiet, but missed the southern hospitality, no smiling faces anywhere , was not warmly greeted not even once in three days,maid left dirty towels on the floor and did not replace them, all could have been forgiven with just a little southern charm but none was found"

"My experience at your hotel was the highlight of my trip. nEverybody in our party loved the food and said it was better than anything else they ate at other places.

Kiki the waitress was especially attentive at night and my friend and I were very appreciative. I had no problem tipping 40% for service. Thank you so much - everyone- from the doorman to the cleaning crew, they were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was beautiful and gorgeous. I've never been treated so well.

"This is the place to stay. You can have a quiet relaxing stay by the pool or fun and excitement over looking Bourbon Str. The freindliest and accomendating staff! Wonderful restaurants! "It was my first trip to New Orleans and I wanted a safe hotel in the French Quarter that was central to the activities and tours that I scheduled. The hotel is lovely in decor, very friendly and helpful staff. Willie and Javari were both very friendly and helpful gentlemen. The jazz lounge in the hotel was quaint, relaxing, and had a good array of musicians.
Best feature of the hotel, was location, location. I will return to the Royal Sonesta the next time I am lucky enough to return to this charming city.

"The moment you walk through the front doors of the Royal Sonesta Hotel, you know you have arrived at a special place, The lobby has one of the large, beautiful chandeliers and the in-house jazz club on the right is inviting. The check-in is cordial and efficient. We purposely took a room facing the interior of the hotel one floor above the small but refreshing pool, with it's distinctive blue umbrellas. Having an interior room muffles the sound from Bourbon Street. All our experiences with the staff were positive. The concierge helped us choose two plantation tours 'Laura' and 'Oak Alley' and the choices were excellent. All questions were answered quickly, and when we complained about the television reception and the working of the safe in the closet, two men were in our room within 10 minutes, and both problems were solved quickly.nThe hotel is centrally located in the French Quarter and the French Market is within reasonable walking distance. nI could go on and on about the food, free entertainment on Bourbon Street, etc., but the most memorable restaurant experience was our reservation at Restaurant R'evolution, an in-hotel, new restaurant the night after it's opening. It was a 5-star dinner at a surprisingly resonable price. The interior of this restaurant cannot be described it has to be seen to be believed.nI would recommend the Royal Sonesta and hope to return there."

"I want to thank specially the attendant at the garage who brought our car keys to Slidell, Louisiana Cadillac dealer. nMy car did not start that morning, after getting the company to come and start it, the car was left running to recharge the battery. Well somehow the key(The car is key-less) was left on the board and I did not miss it because the car was already running, etc, etc. nThe nice gesture was to bring it to us 35 miles away when we stop in the Cadillac leadership and we noticed we have left it at the Hotel. I regret I did not tip the guy,something I should have done, but I was a bit in distress and upset, for which I apologize now in front of his boss. Next time I come back I will look him up."

"Very Nice Hotel in a great location in the French Quarter - easy walking to most things there. Though the hotel is right on Bourbon Street, it was very calm and serene (even the court yard pool). Be sure to explore the hotel itself, beside the lounge located across from the lobby, there is also a restaurant and oyster bar (which serves a sit down breakfast in the morning) located off the lower courtyard. Everything went very well from check in to check out and the $25 per day from Bookit.com came in handy for the parking cost."

"My trip to New Orleans was the best ever! I loved it. The hotel is beautiful, staff are friendly, rooms are super comfy and they have great food. Can't beat the location. The Royal Sonesta is close to everything. I never even had to call a cab. Of course any extras are expensive, but no more than any other hotel. A few benches outside the hotel would be nice. The feet get really tired after walking all day and it would be nice to sit down while waiting for a shuttle, tour bus etc... Classy hotel at a great price. Definitively would stay again."

"This was my second trip to NO staying in the French Quarter. This hotel is the perfect location for you if you enjoy being in the centre of the amazing french quarter. Directly opporsite an excellent Jazz bar with live music and resonably priced drinks and food. The rooms are varied in size, cleaned and checked to a high standard. The pool and court yard are also clean and tidy, provide sun screan and towels along with a bar area where staff are friendly. The staff who assist with bags and general door enquiries were welcoming and keen to help. However 4 of oour party members had undesirable conversations with reeption staff. They were blunt, direct and sometimes rude! If you can rise above this then this hotel is the perfect one for a stay in NO"

"My family and I had an 'amazing' time in New Orleans! We've been to New Orleans 3 times in the past 2 years, it was our fist time staying at this place and by far the best hotel. The hotel is beautiful, very clean and the staff was very polite and helpful. The best part is the hotel is located on Bourbon St. and it seemed no matter where we went the hotel was always so easy to get back to...which is what you want when partying on Bourbon :-) Will difinitely again!!!!! "The staff, from the front desk to cleaning personnel, were all friendly and helpful. It is a beautiful hotel with handsome rooms. It was very quiet despite the fact Bourbon Street's noisy mayhem was just outside the windows....not a problem! Our loveliest surpise came at checkout when we were expecting a very hefty parking bill for four nights but were charged only one third of the predicted cost...whew! It had something to do with our length of stay and the way we were billed, I believe. Thanks for a great stay. We'll be back!"

"In the heart of the French Quarter. Easy walk to everything, Super Dome, WWII museum and lots of shopping and restaurants. Staff did a great job of keeping the lobby area for guest only which was not easy during the Final Four. We could hear and see the Bourbon Street area but just added to the experience and was never too loud to sleep. We enjoyed the hotel coffee shop, bar off the street and hotel restaurant on the corner. We never made it to the Jazz bar off the lobby. Friendly helpful staff and my team won so perfect experience."

"First time to N.O.L.A. Hotel was far and above the best service, and comfort, we've ever had. Entering the lobby was an elegant sanctuary from hectic Bourbon Street (when you needed it).( Check out the fresh floral art under the chandeliers and fountain, in the lobby). All of the staff were exceptionally warm and professional, from the front desk, to the doorman, to the maid, to the maintenance man (didn't even know there was a problem, and it was fixed) We never had to wait for assistance, and always were made to feel at home. The staff genuinely welcomed us, making sure we were happy during our entire stay. Everything was sparkling clean, and the softest pillows and linens. Quiet, lovely rooms to retreat to, once you've had your fill of the 'Big Easy'-the best of all worlds! ( We wish we were still there)."

"We stayed on the R-Club level for 3 nights. Loved being on Bourbon Street yet not hearing it once in our room. The included breakfast and early evening cocktails were a terrific bonus and worth the extra cost of being in the R Club. Concierge was very helpful, made dinner reservations for us at Muriel's (can't say enough good about that!) and just made sure our stay was great. Would definitely recommend."

"We had a fabulous experience. The location couldn't be better. The hotel was clean, staff (except for one male bartender) was awesome. However, we were not happy that the pool bar closed because of a little sprinkling of rain. By the time the bartenders finished their closing work and locked up, the sun was out....and the following day with a semi crowded pool and 6-7 people at the bar around 5:00 he was closing up again. The other complaint was that our room was half the size of our travel mates. We had a queen and they had a king. The bathroom had only the counter space around one sink and theirs stretched the length of the room. Our room was so small the desk butted up next to our bed and I not only knocked my head on it bad, but in the middle of the night my hand kept hitting it. The room was clean and beautiful but small and we paid the exact price as our friends so I felt a bit ripped off. However, overall I loved the hotel and can't wait to return. "

"This was my 4th stay at the Royal Sonesta and I am sorry to say will be my last. I think the rates are overvalued for the accomodations. I had to call security twuce because of noise, yelling and arguing in the hall.



What really upset us was the $15 per head cover charge for the Mayfield jazz club. You would think with the prices for the room guests of the hotel would be exempt from payiing the cover charge. Not so. We did not see the show. VERY DISAPPOINTED. AGAIN WILL NOT BE STAYING THERE IN THE FUTURE."

"We got a GREAT deal on a last minute trip to New Orleans. Booked our room through book it and drove straight to the hotel. The property makes you feel right at home. We loved the employees that have been there for 20 plus years! Beds are super comfy and they even have a rooftop pool! Awesome mini vacation! Thanks book it!"

"The Royal Sonesta is a beautiful hotel, the room was large and the bed was absolutely lovely to sleep in, so soft and comfy. We had a patio room, so could just walk to the pool area which again was lovely, the hotel is in the heart of the French Quarter which is great although our room was quiet.

The only down side for us was that people smoked on the patio next to our room and the smoke came inside, also there was no complimentary tea and coffee in our room, which would have been nice."

"My trip to NOLA was amazing! There is so much to see and do. We did several tours and enjoyed Bourbon St. at night. The Royal Sonesta is in a perfect location right off of Boubon St. The hotel was always very clean and the staff were helpful in advising us of places to go and things to see. Our room was perfect, we stayed on the pool side. They have a small coffee shop within the hotel that is a perfect place to grab a quick breakfast and coffee. The Desire restaurant also located within the hotel has amazing shrimp and grits that is to die for! This is a very unique hotel, I would definitely stay there again! "
